That only means one thing. DLo is here to stay and save us in playoffs. The King trust him so the Laker nation should to.

It’s kind of sad. Basketball and business realities are what they are, but you can tell how much D’lo loves being a Laker. He doesn’t want to go but knows it’s almost inevitable. I know he has his obvious limitations but I’ll definitely miss having him around.

The player option thing is overblown imo. He clearly wants to stay with the Lakers if given opportunity
If we keep AR then he has to move to PG and be a primary ball handler or Dejounte has to move into that position + figuring out a new team, scheme, rotations, etc
DJ can play both roles, primarily a SG with Hawks because he’s next to Trae who’s a PG. And DLo actually considers himself just a “guard”. The fact that they can both flexibly switch between playmaking and shooting is what would make them an effective combo, whereas Austin is not great playing point
Now you might say well he and Trae are already playing as SG/PG and look at their record. Well they’re 1A/1B on the Hawks. Here that’s Lebron and AD, so really DLo and DJ would be 2A/2B
It’s a business decision and an upgrade in most areas, I think they should flip AR and make a deal happen

No I don’t want to do a trade now 😥😭

This is cool to see because I always wondered if they liked each other because I rarely see they interacting during the game ( probably just bad luck from camera work)

It’s not because DLo isn’t good. It’s because the Lakers ownership is kinda cheap, and doesn’t want to risk paying DLo a lot this summer when he inevitably declines his player option.

DLO safe!!!!!
I’ve been downvoted for saying this before [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/lakers/comments/199s1sn/daily_lakers_discussion_thread/kii95a8/) but I’d prefer if they kept DLo. Those two would cook together while DLo plays more PG and Dejounte plays SG

I love Austin too, but you’re talking about an undrafted player we developed and can flip for a 1B-2A guy who’s also [a better playmaker, shooter, rebounder, assister, steals, and defender playing 1:1](https://www.landofbasketball.com/player_comparison/dejounte_murray_vs_austin_reaves.htm)
