We’re here at the maroon um excited about announcing the McCullum Scholars Program um in partnership with college Beyond we’re super excited to to have the announcement to be able to share some of the things we’re going to be doing in the community we are a college access organization here in New Orleans

Supporting students in our community we are providing 101 coaching we provide financial support supporting our students both in K through 12 and higher education I’d like to welcome CJ McCullum to offer some remarks and unveil the full amount of our investment to our young people education has meant a lot uh to my

Family and I and I was fortunate enough to go to Lehigh University on a full athletic scholarship and without that scholarship I wouldn’t have been able to attend Lehi uh without taking on massive loans so unlike many kids I was fortunate enough to play basketball and

Get decent grades but a lot of these kids don’t have that option I think it’s important that my family and I continue to contribute and figure out ways to be a critical resource for these kids to move on to college and we’re excited about these 10 students being able to potentially achieve their

Goals a lot of times people want to have a seat at the table you are the table when we invest in our young people we get the best return on investment in anything we can put a dollar behind you’re providing our young people an opportunity to start off in the black

Not in the red it’s been really incredible working with his team um and CJ because you can tell that they’re really invested in the community focus on really wanting to make the biggest impact on students and making sure that students were able to go to school with

Zero debt which is the primary focus of this initiative

New Orleans Pelicans guard CJ McCollum officially announced his scholarship program, McCollum Scholars. This five-year scholars program aims to aid economically disadvantaged students from New Orleans in their college application process and enrollment. Each student will receive up to $20,000 annually for up to four years to bridge financial aid gaps. Additionally, upon college admission, participants will benefit from personalized coaching and assistance in securing paid internships aligned with their field of study.
