“The Nuggets improved to 2-1 on the current road trip Sunday in Washington.

Here are three takeaways from Denver’s 113-104 win over the Wizards:

    1. Nikola Jokic’s young but growing case to be the G.O.A.T. improved Sunday. After Friday’s win in Boston, Jokic (27.92) passed Michael Jordan (27.91) for the best career Player Efficiency Rating (PER), a catch-all metric that considers a player’s statistical contributions. Jokic’s PER should inch closer to 28 after he made 15 of 20 shots and 12 of 14 free throws for a season-high 42 points against the Wizards, which guarded Jokic one-on-one for most of the night. He added 12 rebounds, eight assists, three blocks, one steal and zero turnovers in 36 minutes on Sunday. The Washington crowd appreciated the performance, chanting “M-V-P” as Jokic was at the free throw line in the final seconds.”
