Should pretty easily be able to make that trade I’d say um just like why would you keep him like why would you keep him Phoenix says rate my three team trade Raptors receive Cas Wallace plus filler Nicks get Bruce Brown OKC get three first round picks one via

New York and yako purle so two from us so they get Yak they get three first round picks so more picks for OKC we get Cas Wallace and filler so we get Cas Wallace and filler for Bruce Brown in two first round picks I’m not sure the Thunder would

Really want to tie up that money with yako PE to be honest especially when he probably wouldn’t start like I think there it’d be more beneficial for OKC to um I think OKC should be looking for a for a four rather than a than a five right now

Um uh I I granted I’m not watching a ton of OKC if they’re dying for a center maybe they go for that I’m not sure they want to tie up four and a half three and a half years on yako P’s contract though I’m obviously very high on case Wallace

If you’ve been following the channel for a while you know that he was the top of my wish list heading into the 2023 NBA entry draft unfortunately he was selected uh he was he went 10th if he didn’t go 10th he would have gone 12th

So the Raptors were not going to get him but oh man do I wish we had a bit more Lottery look and could have gotten him Raptors are fifth worst in the NBA since P’s injury and the team’s rebounding rate has plummeted to Second worst in the last seven games who the

Hell is worse than us at rebounding the last the last seven games that’s crazy K walls is doing pretty well uh he space he’s spacing the floor quite well I think he’d benefit from a larger role somewhere but he’s he’s doing well with uh with the Thunder uh who knows if

They’d even want to trade him I guess would also be a conversation um we uh if he was still available in the draft when we made our pick I I don’t know I I think they would have taken him if he was available I I would I’d be a little bit

Surprised if they didn’t how do you guys feel about the Raptor’s situation right now so I saw a poll on Twitter from a account that I’d say is quite a bit more pessimistic on team Outlook than I than I am and I’ve been pessimistic and uh I’d say the

People that interact with this you user who is pretty good are usually quite reactionary so uh take it for what it is but the majority of fans that follow that account want the Raptors to lose today so I’m curious what your guys’ stance is on the

Tank situation so uh if so I I was saying that the Raptors won’t be bad enough to draft to be bottom six well they traded cakam they traded OG and and very much they are bad enough to be bottom six they need to get some Lottery

Luck as well but here is the current standings for the draft simulation the Raptors are the seventh worst they have the seventh best odds the number one overall pick right now seventh worst record in the NBA so at that point they’d still have to get some Lottery

Luck and if we Sim once they move to eighth and that pick would go to San Antonio so even if like they could be even a team that finishes bottom five they still may not have their draft pick so there’s a complication that you run into I think in order to

Guarantee I don’t know quite how it works I know you you have the worst overall record which the r just won’t have obviously the lowest you can go is five and that actually happened to Detroit last year but I I don’t know how low you’d have to go like like honestly

They’re not going to be as bad as the Spurs the Wizards or Detroit like that just ain’t happening uh could they be worse than Memphis like I don’t think so could they be as bad as Portland like I think some of these teams will bot him out a little bit I

Don’t know Charlotte I wouldn’t be surprised if they like maybe tried a little bit but grabs have a long way to go here I don’t think it’s it’s like cuz cuz if if you’re resting guys you’re taking away some development reps from certain players and then at the end of the

Season you also have to get pretty lucky like you’re I would say more like likely than not you don’t end up using your pick at this point I don’t know how how like if they can all time tank then maybe things are different but I’d be a little bit sour if this

Team was resting guys taking reps away from players who really need it and then still wasn’t using their pick that would feel like a real big waste um I see like I’d love to use the pick this year um uh just like okay even like weak draft

Class it’s not like like if the Raptors are drafting here’s here’s the thing about this year if the Raptors are drafting this year if they’re drafting this year it is a top six pick regardless if the Raptors are selecting it is one of the top six picks in the

Draft regardless of your thoughts and opinions on how weak or strong this draft class is you have a good chance of finding a really good player in the top six of the draft if you don’t draft this year and you then you’re you’ll you you’ll have your

Pick no matter what next season it can the pick will convey you’ll be back to normal with from that yako Perle trade you don’t know where that pick is going to end up next season it’s not a guarantee that pick ends up as a bottom

Six pick I don’t know how good the team will be next season I’m not holding out a ton of Hope for this team being a playoff team in the next couple seasons including this year but like I’m okay with the pick conveying this year and you know you’re back to normal

For like your assets going forward and then you can make a decision to tank maybe a little bit next season but also like if you’re drafting this year it’s a guaranteed top six pick and that’s also okay with me at this point but for the season you have to get still a little

Bit lucky to use your pick this year I’d say just go try to win games and I definitely wouldn’t be making a decision at game 44 in regards to T Bing I think that’s more of a conversation to be had early to mid-march certainly after the trade deadline which I believe

Is February 8th but for me the team right now just just keep trying to win games I don’t think it does us any F I mean uh I was going to say that doesn’t do us any favors but like if you start your tanking now then you have a very good

Shot of of using your pick this year so it’s not like it’s worthless but I still think it’s worth for now to try and win basketball games let’s uh I’ll put a poll in the chat let’s see how you guys feel I I I don’t imagine the majority of you would

Win today uh but again I felt I feel like that community and Twitter in general can be more reactionary more harsh more pessimistic so um I I you know what’s great is that most of the people who like cuz I watch every game I watch 95% of the games I miss like maybe

3 to five a season I’m going to miss Friday but I miss like 3 to five a season all you guys a lot of you guys grand grand majority of you are here every stream you’re watching every game so um I’d say it’s more likely that the people in the amateur sports Community

Especially the live streams have a better sense of this team overall because they’re watching every game whereas a lot of people on Twitter like are like picking and choosing games here or there you know I want a competitive loss if you want a tank like I understand but for me I

Don’t think you’re ready to go throw there yet you still have to get lucky in the draft with the draft lottery uh you still can get lucky like you can be like even the ninth worst team and end up I I actually did I did five before the

Stream started I don’t want to get you guys hopes up I did five sims before the stream started and the fourth and fifth Sim the Raptors ended up with the first overall pick wouldn’t really care if they lose want to game I I guess that’s how I feel

Too because like I’m watching games and I keep saying the postgame shows like they lost but I I don’t know I didn’t think I thought they played pretty well I think I’m fine with that I’m comfy with that I prefer if they win and play well though that being said

Going full tank and maybe scare quickly doesn’t matter um what’s he going to do about it he’s an RFA he’ll get an offer sheet we’ll match it and he’s here to stay it doesn’t matter you don’t got to worry about him you don’t got to worried about anybody like the only free agent

The only key free agent is Gary Trent I don’t know if you like you know what You’ have to have a conversation if if you’re gonna call him a key free agent he’s been playing better recently but it’s not the end of the world if uh Gary Trent ends up on a different

Team uh dolo can be on his 15am in five years if he gets traded um yeah the D’Angelo Russell thing this he’s a great example of like Talent only takes you so far like you have to fit into a team like he is he is like a a way above

Average Talent player who doesn’t have the specific skills he needs to complement a team he’s kind of like he’s not as bad as Jordan P but he’s a talented player that doesn’t necessarily play winning basketball like like Alex Caruso is by far the more valuable player over d’angel Russell

Alex Russ was not as talented as Danel Russell you know what I mean like the like you got to fit the right way in this league to be on a top team like that thoughts on the Kyle Lowry buyout Market I don’t know if the Raptors will get

Involved um he’ll probably be ring chasing a little bit not R ring chasing but there’s probably some good teams to be looking to him Philly would be a good spot for him to end up uh backup point guard help if he’s not good enough veteran leadership for a championship

Run here’s a guy who’s been there and done it I think teams would be interested there you think he gets trade for roier wow yeah you know I guess that’s an interesting fit roier has been bought Bing this season good scoring help I question if Terry can play that that role on the

Good team I was just saying D’Angelo Russell can’t do that’d be a fun little thing to see but I’m not sure Dante is a backup center of the future I wouldn’t hold my breath on that uh he is starting today though quickly Trent Barrett Barnes Porter once

Again for the Raptors today uh jonte Porter Fresh Off his zero rebound performance um against the New York Knicks that was lovely uh yeah if you’re going to be a backup center you got to be able to like you can space the floor that’s cool you got to be able to

Rebound number one and you’ve got to be able to score at The Rim struggles with both it’s kind of tough do I think roier is worth two picks is he worth worth two top first like two top 10 first round picks no is he worth two second round picks yes well

Obviously is he worth you know like two lower tier first round picks from Miami what is contract Terry roier makes 24 million a year 23 24 then a partially guaranteed 26 yeah first like to Miami first yeah what’s the partial guarantee 202 26 25 26 24 so okay it’s

Partial guarantee but 25 million of it it’s guaranteed so it’s not a really a partial guarantee it’s fully guaranteed if Charlotte plays in the second round of playoffs and year plays 70 games in any of the upcoming Seasons so it’s it’s so he’s not getting that guarantee uh

He’s getting 25 million that year he’s still making a lot of money he’s making the same there so that’s not really a part yeah I I I I feel like if I really needed scoring help I think he’s worth that I’m just not sure if it’s right for Miami um to be honest

Players you want if you plan on tanking they always play with full effort and will push to in every game that’s a good trait to have um but what you can do instead is uh just not play them and just rest them you know what I mean

Don’t have time but like T Players I Want traded like Bruce Brown and B are at the top I think I my my life would be a little bit more at peace knowing you know what B is a good good role player every now and then but man that guy G

The draft compensation to do so Quinton Grimes is a solid player that uh would be a good one to come back in the deal you’d probably have to eat the Evan for cont cont I I I checked this but if he’s on a 2-year contract that kind of is

Scary if it’s just one year not that yeah it is it is twoyear oh it’s a team option next year so it’s a one year then absolutely Evan for8 Quinton Grimes and at first yeah um yes please that is a good move that just makes a lot of sense for the Denver

The Denver Nuggets let’s see if they can do this since I’m so casual uh let’s find out all right Denver Nuggets Toronto Raptors okay Bruce Brown making $22.5 million second highest contract on the Toronto Raptors okay picks from Denver they have uh they can trade their they can’t trade their 2024 pick they

Can’t trade their 2026 pick they cannot trade their 2028 pick they cannot trade can they I don’t even think they can trade this pick either um can they trade that no cuz they don’t have the 20 they cannot trade any of their first round picks so for the sake of this conver for

The sake of this conversation we’ll see if they can actually do this in another way and just throw in every second round pick but first round picks they cannot trade any of them and therefore this trade will not happen uh Christian Brown for for fun here let’s see if we can get

The money to work here uh cwell Pope not getting traded Reggie Jackson like okay Reggie Zeke do we get Zeke in this one 4.3 million add in some all right let’s add in forward here uh Christian Brown okay he’s decent R Jackson’s not good no value Zeke Nagi at this point

Not really any value does that trade work uh it does not work Z is on a rookie contract signed extension that is to begin The Following Season therefore he has what is known as a poison pill contract he can no longer be traded for a player making equal money

Okay so not him okay let’s try again we take out Zeke Nagi we add in uh Julian Strather and they can’t trade de Jordan and uh and Justin holiday all right four guys is that enough financially financially it’s still not enough okay so they don’t have

Any picks nor do they have the contracts that can make this work well looks like the Denver Nuggets can’t make this trade looks like I’m not casual and I know the trade market okay good to know the New York package seems very interesting um yeah Denver ain’t happening Denver Denver could use Bruce

Desmond Baines out injured Marcus smarts out injured uh All Season yeah they haven’t had SE that Brandon Clark whatever uh other players injured for the team as well and that’s their starting five Alama actually exited the game early as well due to an injury on

Top of that and he was playing uh quite well for this team yet still the Raptors were down the entire game I mean they went down 10 early uh actually they weren’t down 10 they were down like high singles early went down by 10 by the uh in in the second quarter went

Down by 10 early in the third ended up being down by by 19 at one point in this game as well they were down 90 to 71 decide that they feel like playing a little bit later on in this game but still end up losing overall this game

Was very winable by the Raptors you could talk all you want about OG trade which it’s been a while now like we got our two guys replaced him so that shouldn’t be a factor the sakam trade could still be weighing on the team a little bit but even still the Raptors

Were at the Scotia Bank Arena where they have done okay this season and they came into this game as seven-point favorites not really any excuse to look this bad against this Grizzly’s team but they managed to do so and a lot of it was down to you know some individual

Stuff that wasn’t great you know like Gary Trent so hot and cold a bad night for from him the bench not doing much um rough game for Manuel quickley lot of turnovers by the Raptors certainly didn’t help whatsoever but it also felt as though there was a real distinct lack

Of game plan overall very poorly coached game by dark rakovich and this is a pretty good example for the the the crowd that’s saying like who could do anything better with this team like the Raptor roster clearly looking at this roster right now is better than the the

Grizzlies had the Grizzlies have a good coach Taylor Jenkins and he’s getting the most out of what he has here he’s getting a lot out of Vince Williams Jr right now uh Luke Canard played quite the game I was not expecting they’re getting decent minutes out of John conar

Like the roster sucks but you see that the coach is getting stuff out of the players that you wouldn’t expect on the other end for the Raptors you’re met by coach maybe not very good the preparation for this game was was very bad defensively it doesn’t really seem like the players know where

To be or what to do the help defense is very problematic doesn’t exist a lot of the time players just don’t really understand what their role is defensively and it leads to a lot of easy buckets and easy looks for three the defense as on the whole this year

Has been bad even with OG and Obi and this team the Raptors were struggling immensely on defense and it’s it’s heightened even more now even more now 100% And it very much doesn’t help that you don’t have a rim protector in yako purle available and there’s nobody on

The bench who can fill that void but the help defense was very bad today the off ball defense on the perimeter has been poor all season and it just feels like they don’t really know what they’re doing on offense the Raptor roster in general right now not a lot of players

Who create individually like RJ barar can kind of get his head down and just fight his way to the rim and he he had a terrific game and he does that Scotty Barnes kind of do the same but in terms of like Advantage creation the RS don’t

Have a ton of it like while Scotty’s working on getting his his handle a bit tighter he’s 22 that go that should come Manuel quickley is working on getting his handle tighter he’s 24 that should come uh but right now as it stands Raptors don’t have a a lot of great

Initiators uh definitely not a lot of iso creators so what the Raptor should do is try to avoid that a lot so what Darko does instead to mitigate the concerns with individual creation is that he really tries to force a lot of iso play right now uh which he didn’t

When cakin was here but a lot of a lot of iso play today a lot of the first player has to just beat his guy and look for kick it opportunities but the Memphis Grizzly did a great job like when quickly beat beat his player they’d collapse in the paint take away the

Kickouts when Scotty Barnes did it they would collapse and take away Ki kickouts and it led to a whole bunch of turnovers and just didn’t really look like the Raptors knew what to do like when quickly drove in and got met by two players didn’t really look like he knew

What the options were it’s kind of just like making it up on the Fly for these players and it doesn’t feel as though there’s a ton of preparation in place like Scotty Barnes had a phenomenal game kind of ruined a touch by the five turnovers but some of them were sloppy

But some of it is just like skiing here that makes it so much more difficult um emanel quickley he didn’t play well four turnovers also not good but like the schemes are very much not helping here and I get you want to give quickly a lot of on ball sets and he

Still has 10 assists in this game but like definitely where quickly was better today was receiving off ball jump shots and not as much on Ball and I get you want to push this stuff and try to improve this thing but you’re very much not catering to the strengths of your team

And and that has been the problem All Season you know we’re 44 games in at this point at some point you got to start to figure some things out as a coach we’re 44 games in and that’s that’s not really been apparent but like I said it wasn’t

Just coaching there was some tough performances there were two good ones uh Scotty Barnes six of 14 for the Raptors good Lord 22 points 12 rebounds five of which were offensive rebounds eight assists and six blocks yeah I get it five turnovers but in a game the Raptors
