Uh doing my podcast here from The Natty State Sports studios in fville and I apologize about the lack of content from locked on Razorbacks it’s just been a very busy time weather’s been a factor kind of moving back and forth from fa to lck and just the craziness that’s been

Going so hopefully hopefully here on out where there shouldn’t be any problems that’s the hope but uh you know I appreciate everyone’s patience and bearing with me and everything I feel bad I feel awful I hate that it’s gotten to this point but hopefully it’s done

With and hopefully we can just uh be back and better than ever and making it all work here on the locked on Razer backck podcast but folks there’s a lot of things to get to and I’ll give everybody an update on that later into the show but uh last time we spoke the

Razer back basketball team was in bad shape and it didn’t really look good for any intents and purposes everything looked just kind of sour kind of lame kind of dull you know whatever you want to say it’s just not been a fun time and it really didn’t get any more

Fun this past weekend now I will admit that Arkansas actually did get at least a victory over the Texas A&M team uh and very thrilling fashion if you want to call it that because they did take care of business in a buzzer beater with Tron Mark hitting it should never been in

That case should have never even gotten to that point but it it happened it was there and Arkansas took care of business in one and you were thinking and I’m I’m throwing myself into this mix you were thinking that okay after a game like that maybe that’s what the team needed

For confidence maybe that’s what the team needed to try to put everything forth and and and make it all work and get back on the right track for all the right reasons and that did not happen in any stretch of the imagination it didn’t happen Arkansas went up against South

Carolina at home in fville on Saturday solid crowd I’d say I mean I know they’re always going to put out it’s oh it was 19,200 people there and there wasn’t that many people there but it still was a good crowd nonetheless um people were excited about after the game

Against Texas A&M that maybe things were going to get back on track and start looking really good and uh start having some hope well South Carolina made sure that didn’t happen and it wasn’t just South Carolina playing well which you got to give them a lot of credit they are a

Much better team much more improved team than what they were a year ago they actually picked to finish dead last in the and they’re sitting at three and2 in conference play right now but they smoked Arkansas Arkansas looked like a team that had no idea how

To play basketball at least as a team 77 to 64 was the final score in this one and honestly it was even that close a 13-point victory for South Carolina it didn’t even feel that way it felt like it was a 30-point loss Arkansas never really had a lead in this game Fact

Never had a lead in this game as close as it got in the second half was a seven-point game but just it was over with it was over with pretty early Arkansas shot 37% from the field 27% from the three-point line South Carolina shot 52% from the field 50% from the three-point

Line and it’s weird because you see that and you’re like okay well bad shooting but Arkansas did shoot 82% close to 82% from the free throw line so that was decent I guess but they only had five turnovers Arkansas five turnovers and nine assist that’s a problem especially when

South Carolina has 10 turnovers but they have 20 assists that’s an issue nobody came to play and none of it made sense Dramon Mark led the way with 18 points did what he could but he was the only one in double digits and points Trevon Brazil played 25 minutes

In this game and scored a whopping three points oh he must had a bad shooting night no he shot three times he was one of three from the field one of two from the free throw line your best player arguably your best player one of your best players plays 25

Minutes and puts up three shots wow dvo plays 35 minutes he got off to a decent start but then he went three for 13 three for 13 LLS play 23 minutes went three of nine from the field and that was about it jeremi dford went two of six he played 20 minutes at

Least he was putting up some shots but when I see maai Mitchell who played less than five minutes in this game and he actually for five minutes scored four points and an assist at a rebound when I see him in five minutes of play roughly take as many shots as Trevor

Brazil did in 25 minutes of Play It kind of just tells me all I need to know the season feels over doesn’t it I’m not sugar cating it the season feels over I would love nothing more to than be wrong about that I’d love nothing more

To just stroll out here and be able to say here in the next month or two how wrong I was and how this team has turned it around and I’m so glad that they went on this long win streak and like I would love nothing more than

That but I don’t think it’s going to happen if it hasn’t happened yet or at least if it hasn’t happened to the way of looking similar to what a legitimate basketball team should look then I think it’s over it’s over and it’s a shame because this team has shown capabilities of being better

Than this it has shown the ability that it can actually win at a high level that it can beat some pretty good teams that it can play like a decent basketball team the problem is is that it hasn’t been enough it hasn’t been enough Arkansas just looks completely and totally dis

Disarrayed and another problem with it is too is that it just gives the vibe that this team if they get off to a rough start similar to what they did against South Carolina there’s no coming back from it no against A&M at least they were up eight nothing at the

Under 16 timeout A&M couldn’t make any shots but ARG Le playing was decent and it’s almost like that confidence carried them throughout the rest of the game now they gave up the lead we all know that but at least it was a game within itself because they had the

Confidence but in this game similar to the Auburn game similar to the Florida game Georgia game you get off to a rough start there ain’t no coming back from it they’re just not mentally tough enough to come back from it they’re just not so I don’t really know what to make of

The future what to make of you know the direction that this team needs to go because I think everybody’s at a lost words even Eric musman and I’m not saying that he or the coaching staff goes without any sort of blame on this I’m not saying that at all I think

There’s plenty of blame to go around for everybody but it was certainly extremely disappointing to see that type of fight or lack thereof in the game that Arkansas played against South Carolina they have Old Miss coming to town Wednesday or I guess they go to Old Miss

On Wednesday Miss is the number 22 team in the country actually may be 20 they may have moved up doesn’t matter they’re better than you they’re better than Arkansas and they’re probably going to get beat pretty- handedly by Old Miss and then they got Kentucky coming to

Town which normally usually would be a big game but until I see better effort and until I see better play season’s over for me no NCAA tournament may not even be any nit but even if it was I don’t know if they’d take it you I’m I’ll be glad to be wrong if

It happens but folks I don’t feel like I’m going to be wrong about this because most of you feel the same way uh there is some interesting things that’s going on for the Kentucky game which is kind of a bad deal soon too but uh before we

That college basketball game day college game day which is the college basketball version of the college game you know what I’m talking about uh they’re going to be coming to Bud Walton Arena for the first time ever against Kentucky on Saturday great great it’s like I feel bad for the whole situation

Well I don’t I don’t say I feel bad I feel frustrated by this cuz it’s like the one time that you get something like this well I know people would be excited about it and it’s in a season when people have been at their lowest people are the most

Frustrated people the most pissed off they the team’s not very good like all these things playing a factor into this all of these things and now it’s just kind of like okay game day is coming hooray I don’t know what really got them to do this

Like they decided it I guess when they announced it on this past Saturday and maybe they thought Arkansas was going to beat South Carolina and Old Miss like maybe it make for a better matchup but buddy you’re talking about college game day coming to Bud Walton for a team that

More than likely is going to be at that point what one and five in SEC play okay all right tips at 5:00 so there’s that who knows maybe Arkansas finds a way to fall backwards into a win against Old Miss yeah probably not but still the

Fact that college game day is coming is really cool like it really is and you can say what you want about I mean you got reys Davis uh you got uh I guess Seth Davis as well is it Seth Greenberg I think it’s Seth Greenberg Seth Davis

Always get a mixed up I think it’s Seth Greenberg uh Jay bis is going to be there which I know people are going to be pretty upset by him Jay Williams but it’s still like it’s it’s a cool thing to have happen it’s just unfortunate that this is the first time ever that

They’re coming to Bud Walton Arena in game day and there’s probably not going to be anybody there or at least the excitement’s not going to be surrounding the program like it should be or needs to be so I’m really disappointed in that I think it’s should be great

For you know other reasons too but I’ll be C see have they ever gone to a team has college game day ever gone to a team’s venue you that through six games were had one win in in their conference play like I I would be hard pressed to think that

There’s ever been a case when that happened not to mention the fact arkans will be 10 and nine assuming they lose to Old Miss so you’re talk about a team that’s barely over 500 getting college game day to come to the budwal arena I’ll be curious to see what that

Looks like I’ll be curious to see how many people are showing up for that you know are the students all there are they all excited I’m sure the student body will do a good job of it you know at least being there and having some excitement think they still

Do the half court shot and everything like there’ll still be some elements to that but besides that I mean where really is the excitement level for you for anybody I don’t know it’s it’s like just this why we can’t have nice things even when we do get the nice things it comes

At a time where there’s nothing nice about what we have you know what I’m saying like you know college football game day has not been to fville except for one time that was in 2006 every other SEC venue has had college game day there except Arkansas or since the last time that

It’s been in fville since 06 so you’re talking about coming up on or just past 17 years 17 years they’ve been every SEC venue for basketball I want to say of course it’s been to Kentucky and then I think it’s been to Auburn I think it’s been to Bama

I don’t know if it’s been anywhere else probably Tennessee you would think at some point but for this it’s just not not doing it for him so I guess that’s cool who knows maybe I’ll bring some good luck but there’ll be nothing more disappointing and devastating than having college game day there and

There’s nobody there the energy is not there it’s like hooray but then the question Becomes of why did it take him so long to show up to one of these in the first place you know how many other big games have Arkansas has had at home at Bud Walton Arena on a Saturday

Know I guess it has to be on ESPN 2 or not ESPN 2 but ESPN as well but yeah just kind of disappointing sure a lot of fans will be there but it’s hard to get excited about it uh I’m going to give everybody another quick update I know

A lot more consistent but it’s just I needed that time to focus on the right things and so uh I I I appreciate everybody that’s reached out and everybody that’s been hitting me up being like why in the world are you not doing the podcast why are you not doing the

Podcast and it’s like I that shows that you all listen and you all care but it also shows that how I’ve been slacking I I really have been and it’s been tough so I again I apologize about that and hopefully it won’t happen anymore and won’t happen again but uh we still have

Some really great things going on here in Natty State Sports we’re doing a lot of great content a lot of cool stuff a lot of cool things to boot I mean if you could see some of the stuff we’re doing it’s amazing just in a short period of

Time with the team of guys that I have and we’re going to be really getting heavily involved with nil and some and other things too and we’re just you know getting big on social media and putting together some podcast uh you know basketball related podcast and gambling

Related podcasts and um things like that but again I just wanted to tell everybody that it’s it’s it’s going it’s getting better it is it is awesome and being back in feville has been tremendous uh I’ve been able to go back to games again and go to uh see that the

Weather has not been very accommodating for that but uh going back in going living back in faval has just been awesome you know I’ve it’s my hometown and it’s what I grew up in and I love it here even though it’s changed so much just in the past six or so years that

I’ve been gone six and a half years that I’ve been gone from faille it’s changed so much but still home and going to games like going to the game against South Carolina the other night or the A&M game and seeing everybody come up and talk to me and uh welcome me back is

Just awesome so it’s good to just be in the mix again I feel like you’re in tune with Arkansas and with Razorbacks and with everything going on here um we got a lot of work to do but uh I just wanted to again clarify that I’m not going

Anywhere cuz some of you were asking if I’m quitting the podcast I’m not I’m not quitting the lockdown razor break podcast as long as they’ll have me and I know that they’ve been tearing their hair out too at locked on getting upset with me not putting up content and the

Say it’s like it’s no excuse for it I’m not trying to make an excuse for it but it’s is something I needed to do to make sure my Minds were in my mind was in the right spot and in the right time and the right Focus so uh but we’re moving

Forward um I know that for this podcast too uh I’m going to have it to where essentially there’s going to be a setup here at my office and I’m recording in my office now and you probably see like a blank TV behind me and you’re like ooh

Watch out you got a cool spot there um like relax uh I’m going to have a a new setup here and we we’ll start building it and do do the backdrop and all of that um but it’s going to be coming out consistently once again where I’m going
