He cost his team the game by not keeping his cool up one. Plain and simple.

Edit: I’m not excusing the refs, just saying Chauncey avoiding the techs wouldn’t have changed the bad call or the outcome.
Even without the techs, they still scored a 2 right after that.
So we would’ve lost by 1 instead of 2.

Just about done with the NBA aside from highlights. Feels like I’m watching the WWE, it’s too obviously rigged for me to even try to turn a blind eye.
blappiep
horrific and shameful
trebbihm
I guess yelling “TIME OUT, TIME OUT, TIME OUT,” while you and a player make the hand signal doesn’t count. Glad Chauncy got mad enough to get thrown out.
Fuck a win, that is just garbage reffing.

Nobody is paying money to see teams play the officials, and watch them tip the balance.
jason90210
Trash Chauncey all you want I know I definitely do but that ref needs to take a hearing test.
No_Information3972
Fuck these refs
myNameBurnsGold
Brogdon messed up picking the ball up there, but he absolutely made a timeout gesture after picking it up.
Godsafk
I pay to watch refs I dunno why yall so mad🙃
ericsparrow79
Adam Silver needs to take note and do better. Some total bullshit.

You might need to post this to r/nba /u/Kazekid
Original post was deleted there.

I would bet the only reason those two apprentice refs were scheduled for this game was because they expected it to be a blowout. A blowout is perfect experience for inexperienced refs where they aren’t expected to dictate the outcome of the game. The silver lining is that the team finally showed some heart.
Leepanator
You can clearly see him yelling WELL before the double dribble call.
And the “touching the ref” was the ref walking into Chauncey… wait that one makes sense in this NBA
I’d a loved a fair win. Even a fair loss is hard to argue after this good of a game from us, but ending like this? In the refs hands, when they have no repercussions? Fuck that.
shelvino
Funny I thought early on that after the 1st quarter, the refs were actually solid tonight by letting us play physical and not giving OKC everything. Of course when it comes down to it, they COST us
Problem_House
Game ball goes to the officials on this one, what a joke.
Devilsbullet
Anyone else notice blood on brogdons face?
Trick_Weapon
I watched it again, he didn’t even deserve the first tech. The second tech is even more atrocious. The NBA is out of control.
Nevermind that SGA shoves off with his off arm on every drive.
rutabaga_pie
Was this Chauncey’s first ejection as a coach?
baller_34752
We haven’t been hosed this hard since that last second Gobert obvious goaltending on Dame that went uncalled back in the ’19-’20 season
Ouchyhurthurt
The juxtaposition between LeBron calling his TO from across the court and Billups yelling timeout in a refs’ ear is…. A thing i guess.
EdgarBeansBurroughs
The refs are so bad they make Chauncey look like a hero. Never thought I’d see that. It feels like when I started not to hate Jaime Lannister because the people around him were so much worse.
rutabaga_pie
I like seeing a bit of fire from Chauncey. And it was nice to see Ant lose his shit too. We’re too nice.
_gregodenskneecap
Pretty much stopped watching nba at all this year and when I do it’s been painful to watch. Seems like every game has ref issues or flopping. Can’t go 2 minutes without a stop in play.
KiwiVegetable5454
Chauncey lost the blazers this game. Regardless if they miss the time out call. He ran on the court & touched the ref. Blazers would of still been up.
e_double
You have to LeBron James on your team to call a timeout and even if you don’t have possession of the ball, you’ll get the TO. Such bullshit
RickTheMantis
Bill Kennedy, one of the better refs in the league, seemed genuinely annoyed and sad when the ejection was going out. It seemed like he knew it was a bad show by his fellow refs.
BelieveInThe
*You should have made it more obvious you were calling timeout*
5 seconds later
*Touching a ref? Automatic tech*
WaRockMonroe
Quick question and semi unrelated; I have been a piss poor fan for some time now but still get updates and watch when I can. What’s the overall thoughts on Chauncey? Good, bad or master of the tank and we will talk again in two years
tylerthompsonmedia
Nobody is admitting Brogdon shouldn’t have attempted the sneaky double dribble.

Billups blew the fucking game for us
Complete bullshit
When will it end
