KNICKS Trounce Nets with Furious 4th Quarter Rally! | Knicks vs Nets Postgame Recap

Hello and welcome into the N verse my name is George and if this is your first time here or you’ve been here before but haven’t subscribed yet please do so along with hitting that thumbs up button for me uh we’re really close to 8,000 uh subscribers we’re like at 7,900 or so

Which is fabulous I’d love to get the 10,000 by the end of the season an incredible season and man has the start of 2024 been outstanding for these Knicks they are now 10-2 this year this year so far they went to Brooklyn it was

It was an a away game but uh the way the uh the crowd was chanting it was like they were dueling let’s go Nets and nicks at the same time uh and uh you know they had celebrity row there Spike was there all to watch the Nets actually

Get the lead beat the Knicks for about three quarters and I was a little worried about this game I was a little worried about it because it just felt like it kind of also no Isaiah hartstein he’s out because of an Achilles uh you know tendo opathy I think it was they

Called it uh which is uh who knows what that I mean it could be they didn’t say it was a tear uh they didn’t say anything like that but uh he basically has to rest it and it comes from overuse that’s right overuse so we don’t

Have Mitch uh Leon hasn’t made a trade for you know a legitimate uh five backup uh we did we did get precious which precious did play today and he had a very good game uh for him uh Sims got the start who also played well uh well

Enough for us to at least uh hang around I just I felt like you know what if we can just hang around by the end of that third quarter beginning of the fourth quarter meaning if the game is like just under 10 points I feel like the Knicks

Could could could totally pull this game out uh and that’s exactly what happened exactly what happened the Knicks used a tremendous fourth quarter to pull this game out they outscored the Nets by 14 in that fourth quarter 32 to 18 and uh it was really came down to one amazing

Sequence and I’m going to show you that sequence that’s the only highlight I’m going to show you tonight because it’s the only highlight that matters here we go is coming down to the wire here in Brooklyn Brunson using the screen challenges Claxton blocked by Clon here Smith on the Move Smith drives

In scoop no tipped up in the air Johnson’s got it it’s brought by anobi and hard saves it for Rand up ahead bounce [Applause] back right there look at that outstanding two blocks I think uh OG and atua both got blocks two new Nicks incredible sequence keeps going

New York under a minute to go Bridges makes his move stumbles kicks finny Smith short and a rebound by Rand 44 seconds to go I would have liked to have seen the Knicks push there in transition I think teams play too slow late in games Bronson the cross outside anobi 8

Seconds Force Nick to touch the ball 2 seconds to the that was it that was it beautiful beautiful beautiful 105 101 Knicks timeout Brooklyn 253 a Play here’s this defens block shot byi the great save by and well it fantastic finish excellent finish you can see it it seem like the Garden in

There uh but I’ll tell you when you look at the box scores uh which we’ll get into it really quickly uh it was bizarre because you would look Randall was incredibly frustrating to watch in this game you know doing you know spin moves into traffic once again you know uh

Turning the ball over I think four or five times but when you look at his statline it looks Fab here we go look at this 37 minutes 10 of 19 he hit both of his two three-pointers and he’s been struggling from the three-point line this year and both of

Them were big big three-point shots big ones especially that one in the fourth quarter nine rebounds seven assists for him and 30 points so looks fantastic right and it was I mean at the end of it you know we got that production is fabulous now OG on an Obi man his

Defense once again unbelievable tonight uh 10 points uh five rebounds he did miss his one three-point attempt only three of eight overall but he really stepped up in that uh I think it was like in that third quarter uh actually he had a a decent fourth quarter as well

Uh he connected on uh give us six points uh but that third quarter let’s see because the bench has been struggling for the Knicks and that’s not a new story we know that’s not a new story actually no he didn’t even score a bucket in the third quarter it was

Really all the fourth quarter where he finally uh asserted himself in the beginning of the fourth quarter he asserted self which was you know the time we needed it uh Brunson actually uh struggled in that fourth quarter shockingly he was only one of six uh but

The one that he hit was a three-point shot and the Knicks struggled all night from the three-point shot see they were only 10 of 29 overall and uh that’s one of the reasons why this game was closer than it should have been we should I don’t know why we didn’t take more

Three-pointers should have been taking more three-pointers now Dante struggled uh from the three-point line tonight three of eight for him and uh overall he was four of 10 uh so that kind of hurts us because he’s our deeno Brunson are our big three-point guys and obviously Grimes as

Well and Grimes was only one of four and Josh Hart 0 for three so but Little Deuce McBride man he’s starting to turn into almost a knockdown three-point shot if he’s open he’s going to hit that thing look at him two of three right there uh let’s see yeah uh what was that

Oh yeah Dante Dante shot uh yeah 40% uh oh yeah the Knicks uh we got to get a little more consistent from our three-point line but the defense it’s all about the defense let’s talk about the defense right now so look at this when you look at the defense of the

Knicks since the OG trade so it’s basically been the month of January this entire month the New York Knicks are 10- two they have uh statistically they have the uh second best record in January uh because uh the Cleveland Cavaliers are eight and one so that’s just they’ve won

Uh almost 89% of their games we’ve won 83% of our games but we’ve played three more games this month than the Cavaliers interesting but they gonna they’re going to face the Bucks twice in the next few days uh and a lot happened today I’m going to talk about uh some of the

Knicks uh not the Knicks the NBA news and Nicks news NBA news that occurred today uh after I get through this part but uh so the Knicks have the second best record in January they have the second best defensive rating this month 104.2 which is outstanding bested by Cleveland which

102.8 that’s really outstanding the net rating Cleveland is at a 20 and we are number two with 12.9 next closest is Boston Celtics with an 8.0 net rating and they’re 8 and4 this month so the Knicks are rocking and rolling and they’re still leading the NBA in Def and

Rebounding but now that we have missed uh now that we Ian basically hartenstein we don’t know it’s it’s uncertain we don’t know how long it’s going to be gone the rebounding could become a concern uh so we’ll see but you know moves got to be made today was a big big

Day in the NBA today the Bucks fired their coach Adrien Griffin and uh they hired Doc Rivers he agreed to go coach them uh I think that’s a mistake honestly I I think I I think I think Doc’s days of coaching are over honestly if he couldn’t make it work with the

Sixers and couldn’t make it work with the uh the Clippers you know I think he’s living off the fame of what happened with Boston uh and and remember who was his uh coach there in Boston Tom tiido he was his uh defensive Guru coach there so I think they made a mistake

They should have gone for somebody else but whatever uh better for us uh so the bucks made a change uh the Miami Heat made a trade with Charlotte Hornets for Terry roier and sent Kyle Lowry to Charlotte there’s uh people you know all over uh the Twitter timelines stuff are

People specul oh should we get oh should we get Lowry should we get Lowry you know what if he comes free yeah yeah if he doesn’t cost us anything any picks nothing if they just uh you know release him and we want to sign him I I’m fine

With that but I’m definitely not going to spend any assets for Kyle Lowry no no not at all uh but we need somebody we need somebody so we’re going to see in the next few weeks uh lot of stuff is going to happen a lot of stuff’s going

To change uh and just so stay tuned I’ll be doing uh some more videos uh concerning all of those all of that kind of stuff uh and then uh let’s get back to the game here so pressure atua nice follow-up game for him he had a good

Game the other night uh tonight he played 21 minutes he played the five there were often times when it was him Randall and OG out there was the front line and it was effective uh three of six uh misses one three-point attemp it actually looked pretty good it looked

Like a nice attempt I wish he had hit it uh nine rebounds for for him six points two assists for him uh look at Deuce there 12 minutes three of five two of three from the three-point line one rebound two assists eight points for him

Josh Hart 28 minutes one of seven 0 for three for the three-point line two points I I don’t know what’s going on with him but those two points were big those were the two points the one the bucket that he hit at the end there and

That crazy play that I just showed you uh Grimes uh two of five overall for him uh only one for four from a three-point line though and uh five points for him the bench definitely is going to continue to be a concern until some trade reinforcements are

Made uh the plus minus tells the story of what I was talking about see how Randall ended up a minus three it’s because he was very he was actually really frustrating to watch throughout the game he wasn’t making great decisions even though he did end up with

Seven assists you know what it’s like he holds on the ball just a little too long if he just committed to the pass earlier on things would change dramatically and I think it would make it change for him as well cuz the ball would probably

It’ll have more time for the ball to get back to him so uh that’s one thing I I hope he really leans into uh but as you can see an anobi plus 11 uh Brunson a plus seven Dante and Sims were both minus- 8 minus 7 uh precious a plus 13

For him so you can see his minutes on that floor were very impactful uh dece minus two Josh Hart uh plus n even though you know gave us nothing offensively he was a plus n because he was a maniac out there like he usually is especially in that fourth quarter he

Uh two steals right there uh when did he get those two steals in the fourth quarter let me check that here because I am very curious about that uh no he only got credit for one Steel in the fourth quarter uh and uh so the next but I’ll tell you let’s keep

Going maau ridges mcau Bridges 36 points for him he’d been struggling recently uh I think from the three-point line and today he exploded seven of 13 but uh not in the fourth quarter when it matters the most he missed all three of his three-point attempts there so he was

Shooting seven of 10 from the three-point line before the fourth quarter uh 14- 26 overall in his 37 minutes picked up five dimes himself to go along with his 36 points and cam Johnson also was pretty ineffectual in that fourth quarter and he had you know

So you can see he had 19 points going into the fourth a goose egg for him he missed all three of his field goal attempts and uh I mean everybody was was struggled uh in that fourth quarter because the Knicks started switching and the switching I and I I I heard uh Macau

Just say something switching just is there like uh Achilles heel or something like that that uh it’s uh they they struggle against switching uh well if uh that should have been an scouting report we probably should have done that earlier on so uh you know it’s one of

Those things that kind of kind of head scratcher uh cam Thomas always he’s like I think the leading score Off the Bench in the NBA tonight in 22 minutes he uh contributed 14 points on six of 11 but did not make a three-point shot interesting and the Nets are one of the

Worst three-point shooting teams in the NBA if not the worst three-point shooting team in the NBA and they are also the worst fourth quarter team in the NBA so that’s why I was thinking okay if if the lead is like if they build up a 20-point lead then it might

Become insurmountable but a nine-point lead the Knicks I think were down what was it 85 uh I can’t remember what the score was uh going into the fourth but they were down nine I believe and uh yeah makes sense because then we end up being plus

14 but yeah I think let’s see here the three-point shooting percentage uh the Nets are second worst in the NBA behind the Atlanta Hawks that’s right 32.8% for the uh the nets 32.7% for the Hawks so very close to each other in terms of that and the Knicks three-point shooting

You know uh right there kind of her 18th Place 36.3% you know manageable that’s that’s decent that’s on a good volume too 38.3 attempts per game and it helps to have tremendous rebounding tremendous offensive rebounding which the Knicks do and they’re still number one in the NBA

In that so that’s why we get extra chances and uh you got to keep taking advantage of that you got to you got to shoot the three got to shoot the three and you just put yourself in a in a mathematical uh quantry if you don’t do

That so but some nights you can get away with it but in general you cannot so we got to keep hoisting got to keep hoisting those shots and we’ve lost a lot of lot from Randall because he has stopped shooting the three at the volume

That he used to which is a wise move cuz he’s he hasn’t been hitting them that well which is beautiful that tonight on his two attempts sunk them both confidently he stepped into it beautifully I like that so he’s just got to look for more opportunities like that

If he can shoot that way that style uh you know not the fade away one not the leaner and all that stuff the step backs and all that stuff those are very very difficult to pull off especially for him even though he does sometimes but if he just the nice catch

Step and shoot those I think he should if he gets at least if you could put up four a game like that that’d be nice you know or five even uh and he hit let’s say he hit two a game that’d be beautiful that’d be beautiful he’s he’s

Been a good three-point shooter in the past for the Knicks so let’s see if he can recapture that cuz we need some three-point shooting we lost quickly uh and even though RJ’s three Point shooting percentage was uh not that great that he did go through some hot

Spells at times but at least he put He put the shots up there which is very important for an offense uh here are the team stats uh you can see uh both teams uh you know they didn’t shoot that great tonight uh it was a pretty good

Defensive battle for at least the first half uh and then that fourth quarter the Knicks just shut them down beautifully uh 20 only 21 assists for the Knicks they did not hit the 27 assist magic number uh and but they still won so good for them uh 29 assist

For the uh for the Nets I keep wan to say nuggets for some reason it’s because I got them on my mind they come next they come next the Denver Nuggets that’s going to be an interesting game I hope I hope for some reason Isaiah hartstein injury really isn’t that big a deal

Maybe get lucky and he’s out there but that doesn’t seem very likely at all very likely at all uh Nick shot 34.5% tonight from the three-point line and the Brooklyn Nets shot 35.7 but the free throw line outstanding both teams only missed one free throw shot uh today but

The Knicks went to the charity stripe an additional 14 times and they hit all those basically 94.7% from the free throw line so you can say the Knicks actually won this game defensively and on a free throw line uh because even like actually they had committed seven

Turnovers in the first half which I was worried but then committed another seven a second half 14 turnover is pretty high the Knicks in the month of January just so you know are the uh they’ve committed the most turnovers in the month of January so it’s interesting so we bring

OG and now suddenly we’re turning the ball over but we’re winning 83.3% of our game so you know you got to take the good got to take the good with the bad points in the paint 58 to 44 plus 14 right there beautiful uh the Nets once

Led by 10 and the Knicks led by five and I was at the end of the game beautiful all right that’s it it was a quick one kind of relatively uh I still think uh Malcolm Brockton is the one for us to go for uh he is a very high quality player

Uh you know six man of the year his credentials are excellent and he’s Dependable you know what you’re going to get from him and he’s a very consistent shooter uh he can run an offense uh confidently uh he can give Brunson the break that he needs Brunson can play off

Ball from him and even if you know like Duce has been hitting that three-point shot beautifully like I could see Deuce out there with Brockton you know and Deuce is can knock down that corner three what’s he shooting 55% from the corner three right now Deuce so we have

To take advantage of what our players are doing great and get players to make up for the deficiencies that we have right now Malcolm brog that makes the most sense right now but I’m open to you know a bigger trade I am not as enthused about dejonte Murray after diving into

More of his defensive uh metrics he really is not the same player defensively that he used to be and the whole point of getting someone like him obviously he’ll help he’ll help run the the the second unit when Brunson needs a rest but he would start so defensively

Though he won’t make up for the lack of defense that Brunson provides or doesn’t you know the lack of defense that Brunson doesn’t provide whatever wait is that a double negative yeah uh the point is that I want someone bigger I want someone who’s a better Defender who can

Stand good place alongside Brunson if Brogan came to this team though he wouldn’t start so that’s the that’s the dynamic the jonte would have to start Brunson would not uh Brogan would not start so it depends on what uh you know Leon’s looking for and who might be the

More attractive piece to trade in the off season with uh you know when there’s a superstar available if they can’t get something before this trade deadline so those are the things that are being considered and who knows by the time you’re watching this video if you’re watching it tomorrow a big trade may

Have already happened so let’s see all right thank you so much for watching this again my name is George Please Subscribe hit the thumbs up button for me and drop your comments I love the comments and I will see you around the next Bir let’s go you’re

  1. I think Brogden would be a perfect veteran addition. I don't like Bruce Brown because he can't run an offense and he is a mediocre 3 point shooter. If Lowery gets bought out he might be a good addition but I think the knicks still need an offensive force off the bench.

  2. Tread the line george, we need somebody that can come on the bench and shoot cause i'm just gonna shooter😅😂

  3. I remember playing with guys I knew were rough n came down with elbows in your face that actually hurt. Julius throws his weight around n intimidates skinny and small players like Bridges, Thomas and esp Evan mobely i used to hate playing wit guys that used their elbows n shoulders with their weight.

  4. Hey George I was at the game. So true about Randle frustrating but what a come back. The crowd was 75% Knicks. It was electrifying. Even Spike Lee at game 😅

  5. OG would be crazy not to resign with the Knicks I actually saw the knicks had him as the #1 prime player on a couple of occasions on the 2nd unit & this is what he was unhappy with & wanted in Toronto, he is on a club maybe one player away to being a juggernaut in the NBA at the end of the Knicks win it was Randle, Brunson but coach had OG, Josh Hart & Presious, just picture that was Mitchell Robinson back there Knick can form a nitro Nascar defense in parts of games that will result in alot of wins wit Mitch & IHart back.❤

  6. Salute my PG Brunson 1st and foremost, but salute to Randle!! That man has such an impact. Much more positive than negative. Consistent. Randle is that guy.

  7. I’ve watched this replay so many times and that ball was so close to going outta bounds before Harts pass to Julius. Sometimes it looks as if it was outta bounds. Great play tho.

  8. The TNT announcers were terrible. “I would have liked to have seen the Knicks push” the ball with 44 seconds left and one point lead is one of the worst calls I I’ve heard from a basketball analyst.

So the Knicks should have pushed the ball and, at best, attained a three point lead with 40 seconds left? Or should they have brought the clock to below 24 seconds and, at worst, have a one point lead with the shot clock turned off? Terrible analysis all night makes me appreciate the MSG crew.

And that was my TED talk.

  9. Hey man love the content. Question for you which of the players that rumored to be traded for would you want to see here off the bench? I think brogdon would fit good I. The second unit.

  10. Hey, what if we can't make a good trade for the bench, maybe we stagger Brunson's and Randle's minutes so one of them is always on the floor?

  11. Thibs is going to do what he did to D Rose to our entire Knicks team lol we’re going to be the wheelchair Knicks by the playoffs.

  12. As someone who was there the crowd was waiting for us to go on a run to get behind the team. Once Brunson hit the Big 3 to get us within 1 point the crowd went insane.

  13. Watched the whole game, and even when the Nets were lightning it up I knew we’d win. Any other year I would’ve turned the game off because they most definitely would’ve lost
