Unfortunately… he stinks. And his defense against backups doesn’t earn him a spot on this team anymore.

I don’t really think Grimes deserves much criticism. Knicks fans just overrated him from the jump. He’s a solid 3&D guy, which isn’t needed as much anymore since we just traded for a better one. His playmaking and ball handling has always been extremely limited. He can be Reggie Bullock type player, and I think he will have a long NBA career. He just doesn’t bring the scoring punch we need, and is one of our better trade chips.

Grimes also had an absolutely awesome driving layup in transition which imo is the biggest thing I want to see more of out of him… we all know he can defend his ass off, and we all know his 3 ball is nice when it’s falling. Get to the cup young buck!

Our fans really can be the worst. This kid has proven himself before. He has starting and playoff experience. We know he is an excellent shooter and defender. Trade him, and you’ll miss him as a depth piece, no doubt. Unfortunately all the knicks haters need someone to hate now that RJ is gone, Thibs is god, and Randle is playing well. So now Grimes gets the nephew’s attention “He sucks” “Trade him”…

We want Grimes to succeed…BUT….His shooting percentage overall is still complete dogshit for a guy who plays 20 minutes. I think it started when he was missing wide open layups in the playoffs last year. This guy hasn’t had any confidence in himself for over a year now.
