Put some videos on the plays Lowe was talking about on his episode yesterday, showing how valuable Batum’s passing is, especially enhancing an mvp level guy lik Embiid.
I feel like it’s underrated how impactful these passes are to helping Maxey ease into his role as a starting PG. We’ve needed players who can get entry passes to Embiid for so long and having someone who can do them this well multiple times a game is so refreshing, especially for a team whose starting PG is still learning the ropes of the position (and doing so very well).

High quality post and Lowe is amazing. Passes eye test when you watch them how great of a connector he is.

Absolutely love Batum. His fit here has been perfect. Him, Ben (sort of), and Harden are the only guys who’ve been able to provide entry passes to Embiid in the half court.
The thing that scares me is that he is SO important to this team and it’s success. He’s on the older side and will be expected to play major playoff minutes. Here’s to hoping that won’t be an issue. The other thing is that who knows if he’ll retire next season. I think if we use picks and players at the deadline we should utilize any cap we have to find a person who fits this role in the offseason (whether or not Batum decides to retire)
Tyus Jones (assuming he doesn’t get traded and get a new contract + he wouldn’t start), maybe Malik Monk (idk he may want a bag but could be an okay Melton replacement trade deadline withstanding). Conley and Reggie Jackson would be nice but again they wouldn’t start/

Great post. Cannot be overstated how important Batum is to this team right now

I’m surprised it took so long to get a guy like Batum in this team

I wouldn’t even say borderline, Nico is straight up untouchable in my book

maybe The Secret™ all along was to put passers around joel

100% agree about not moving Batum. That would be a huge error. He’s far more valuable here than elsewhere imo, so the return will never match the upside

Batums key to success is not hesitating on it. He just gets the ball into the general vicinity as fast as possible. Joel’s 7 feet tall and 280-300 lbs. people can’t go around him. Watch Tobias throw an entry pass. He looks like a statue staring at Embiid allowing everyone to adjust

People have been saying this since early in the year but it really is insane how good he is at this. I think the impact he has on the rest of the team is really underrated by non-Philly fans when they talk about the Sixers’ lack of depth

Entry passes are a lost art. People used to make great interior passes when the floor spacing was compressed like it used to be. It’s one of those things that’s cool to watch for when you look at old basketball games.

He is just so concise with the pass. Even if it is slightly off target, it is a quick pass where he isn’t holding the ball waiting for the opportune moment to make a pass. He just catches and throws it. Doesn’t give the defense a chance to double, and if they are doubling he puts it in a spot only Embiid can catch.
He should be working with Tobias every day for 3 hours a day teaching how to be a more decisive passer of the basketball… the amount of times Tobias has caught the ball and stared at Embiid for 3-4 seconds before finally making the pass is infuriating.

“Untouchable” gets thrown around way too much these days but the fact is there’s nobody better at his role that we could for him. Like yeah I’d trade him for LeBron but lol

Idk if self promo is allowed but I also do youtube on [my channel](https://www.youtube.com/@hoodfavhoops2551), mainly a Warriors fan but trying to branch out.
