Complaining about embiid not guarding jokic and pretending jokic is guarding embiid. Homeboy doesnt k ow what hes looking at.
Embiid is 6-2 against Jokic but they say he be ducking him smh. For some reason the majority of their matchups are back to back for the sixers and he usually sits out on back to backs. This might be the first Denver back to back he played and that's only cause they was talking crap to him in the locker room the night before.

The problem with watching games like this is you don't get the full context of a defense and how it came to be. As for why they weren't guarding one another its pretty simple. Jokic's passing is a big threat maybe an even bigger threat than his scoring so having Embiid roam and protect the paint would lessen the effectiveness of his passing. Jokic isn't going to guard Embiid 1. because he quite frankly can't as Joel over the last 5 years has shot over 60% on shots defended by Jokic and 2. Malone smartly doesn't want to risk him getting into foul trouble. At the end of every game once its close Embiid will always be on Joker and Joker will always be on him.
Joel Embiid's last game vs the Nuggets in Denver happened in the 2019/20 season on November 8th. We are still waiting 😀

The notion that Embid ducks playing Jokic is nonsense. Not only did Embiid score 41 yesterday, he’s cooked the Nuggets for 50 before also. The only times Embiid hasn’t played Denver is while he was injured. That may mark him as not the most durable big man, but it doesn’t mark him as scared of Jokic. Hardly.
Hey @ZTAY, per Tobias Harris, the game plan was and the reason that Embiid didn't guard Jokic in the first 3 periods to prevent Embiid from getting fouls and to taken away some of Jokic's passes especially under the basket. As a Sixer's fan and for the big picture, I was more interested in seeing how the whole team would perform.
since ur a casual. its called matchups. nurse thinks embiid is better protecting the rim and not out at the 3 line guarding jokic. and hes right .
Joel not guarding Jokic and vice versa until later in the game was strategic. Watch the actual game to get a full understanding. It was a chess match defensively between both coaches. I mean come on

If you had watched the last Embiid and Jokic matchup, you would know that Embiid started out guarding Jokic and was holding him in check, but Jokic kept setting up away from the basket and the rest of the Sixers were doing a terrible job picking up cutters, so they were getting a ton of easy shots at the rim. They switched PJ Tucker on Jokic so that Embiid could protect the paint, and that worked out much better. So, that's what they did from the jump this time.
