[Shams] Sources: Doc Rivers is signing a contract through the 2026-27 season worth in the range of $40 million to be the Bucks’ head coach. Milwaukee is paying out former coaches Mike Budenholzer and Adrian Griffin, and now Rivers for next 3.5 years.

its amazing that hes been able to parlay one title with 3 hall of famers 15 years ago into an endless string of massive paydays. you almost have to hand it to him

  2. At least we know we’re safe from the Bucks in the playoffs until 2026

Hopefully he stays there during the entirety of that contract. Completely kills the Bucks window if that’s the case 😂😂😂

  4. I know it’s Doc but this is an upgrade over Griffin. Celtics made their move. Bucks made their move. Heat made their move. Knicks made their move. Pacers made their move. Morey needs to make a move.

Hot take but the best option for the Sixers that would move the needle while keeping the flexibility for this summer is >!Miles Bridges!<

It’s not a Doc Rivers team if there’s no washed corpse that he chooses to overplay so we need the Bucks to sign one in free agency next or something hopefully.

Does Doc have dirt on the league or something?

Man I really fucked up by not trying to get into pro sports and becoming a coach who gets fired but keeps getting more work for more money each time

Giannis about to start believing that you can fail in sports.

It’s absolutely fascinating how highly the NBA values him time and time again.

  10. i think the fact that Doc Rivers is a cool name plays a part here as well — would he be getting so many opportunities if he had a name like Ed Stefanski?

My god, the absolute dread and frustration that Bucks fans must be feeling, knowing they have a championship-level team with a window that is almost certainly closed now by hiring a coach whom everybody (except, apparently, NBA front offices and ESPN personalities) can clearly see is a perpetually underachieving retread who will do nothing but hold them back. A dread we know all too well and have finally broken from with Nurse.

Also, if I was a young coach on the rise I would be kind of pissed that this guy who constantly fails in spectacular fashion somehow not only keeps getting more chances and taking up head coaching gigs, but on top of that the gigs he IS getting are always prime positions where he’s taking over contending teams with loaded rosters.

Doc wasn’t happy living in Philly, can’t imagine how he’s gonna like Milwaukee.

Bucks players gonna have tire marks on their jerseys from how much Doc will shove them under a moving bus.

Bucks are spending lot of money to get knocked out in the second round of the playoffs lol
