Mikal been hooping again. I hope all the negativity isn’t getting to him. He’s such a positive good dude.

  2. We are actually a really good team for 40 minutes.

    He looks great recently.

Tbh as well like the Nets have played great basketball for large stretches of the last maybe 6-7 games? If our coach wasn’t an idiot and 4th quarters weren’t an issue we’d prolly have 5 or so wins from that bunch.

  4. if there wasn’t a 4 quarter we probably would be one the best of teams in the legaue lmao

The dialogue around this guy is insane.

When someone posted him getting booed at home (by KNICKS fans), the straw man argument was that the Nets believed they had gotten a #1 option out of the Suns and now he was being exposed. But NO ONE ever said. Certainly no one who had any clue.

The highest praise I remember being lavished on him last year was Zach Lowe pointing out that his post-trade numbers compared somewhat favorably to Jaylen Brown. That is still not crazy. If you traded him and Brown, would the Celtics get appreciably worse? Not by much. (And he makes LESS THAN HALF of what Brown is now making.)

He’s not a strong creator. He’s also not a #1 option. That doesn’t make him a bad player. It just means the current construction (or lack thereof) of this team exposes his weaknesses. And it would be understandable if having a larger load than he should be carrying (plus the no games off thing) is wearing him down and affecting his efficiency. Mikal Bridges should NOT be the first guy on the floor you look to to create a shot with 5 seconds on the shot clock.

I really hope he’s till here in 12-18 months when they wash out the Simmons contract and hopefully acquire a true #1 so we can all see what he can do in a situation that actually suits him.
