Giannis Surprised By Bucks’ Decision to Fire Adrian Griffin: ‘I Loved the Guy’

I really love Giannis. As an immigrant to the US, his journey especially resonates with me; always has, always will.    That being said, I find this so disingenuous and doesn’t ring authentic at all.

Giannis knows what he’s doing. He knows MIL is a small market team and that they have to do what he wants. Giannis has all the leverage because without him, the Bucks will immediately fade back into obscurity.  There is a tremendous amount of pressure on the Bucks FO to ensure Giannis is happy and rightfully so; he’s a once in a lifetime/generation talent especially for a Milwaukee team.

That being said, I’d like it more if he just  took ownership for playing a significant role in the hiring and firing. Mistakes happen and it’s fine to say “I really believed AG was the right guy for this team over the summer but the needs of the team have changed and I have to put aside who I love on a personal level and look out for what’s best for our team as a whole.” I would genuinely love and appreciate that honesty so much more than this particular feigned surprise at AG being fired and “having nothing to do with it.” I genuinely believe if he just kept it a buck about this, most ppl would appreciate him for it.

Giannis might be the most full of shit player in the NBA

Giannis is lowkey a snake, he acted the same way when they traded away Jrue.

LMFAO, It’s not like I’m expecting honesty or anything but this shit is straight up comedy

Sometimes it’s better to just not say anything.

Giannis has the best PR in the league. Imagine if KD got his coach fired and said this

  13. MoooonRiverrrr

This is literally exactly what someone who did not “love the guy” would say.

  14. General_Relation6047

Giannis: [**DECEPTION**] *I loved the guy.*

  15. SlowBurnerAccnt

“At the end of the day… we’re all lookin for the guy who did this.” – Giannis prolly

Yall must be teenagers. You can love a guy and not think he’s all that great at his job. You can also not think a guy is all that great and still be surprised that the leaders in charge actually fired him.

Do none of yall have jobs? I work with people who suck at their jobs all the time and it still actually surprises me when somebody gets fired. He’s not the GM he doesn’t make those calls. I bet he didn’t walk in to the office and demand he got fired, probably just bitched openly about shit not working out and somebody took it upon themselves to make sure Giannis has nothing to bitch about

Idk I’m trying to be reasonable here because reading this comments yall are acting like this dude committed treason. He’s been likeable so long that people wanna find any reason to hate on him. Almost everybody here sounds ridiculous

All the comments saying “imagine if Lebron did this” when you yourself can criticize Giannis all you like.

  18. Giannis: this dude is a horrible coach and changes need to be made.

Also Giannis: damn they fired him? I loved that dude and I am in shock.

  19. juanopenings

Giannis on the Dwight Howard chaotic villain path now
