The Bulls and Pistons Have Reportedly Discussed a Trade for Zach Lavine…..

So hey we’ve got some Zack LaVine trade buzz after everything kind of remaining quiet on the Zack LaVine trade front teams reportedly not being interested in him unwilling to take on his contract unsure of his ability to impact winning we’ve heard it all before the reasons why teams are hesitant to trade Zack

Line and his contract but this morning we received a report from Pistons beat writer James Edwards which for the record I can’t really speak to his credibility I’ve seen his name pop up here and there a few times and he’s been covering the team for a while but for me

Personally if I don’t see it reported from Shams or W or at least I don’t see it corroborated by one of the Bulls beat Riders most notably Casey Johnson then I always take up with a grain of salt but the report indicates that the Bulls and Pistons have discussed a trade centered

Around Zack LaVine where the Bulls would like a return of Buon bogdanovich mainly for salary filler but bogdanovich is actually still a solid shooter and contributor and one of Kate Cunningham Su Thompson Jaden Ivy or Jaylen Duren you know what I’ll say is this we always talk about well why haven’t the Bulls

Made any trades why do they seemingly never make moves why does the front office just just sit on their hands while the team remains mid well if this report is true this is why the Bulls have unrealistic expectations for what they can get in the form of a trade they

Way overvalue their players on the trade market don’t get me wrong ask for the world you should try and get the best return possible for your players but this is over the top why would the Pistons ever give up one of these young players mentioned for Zack LaVine and

Taking on his contract I get that the Pistons are historically bad this season they had that embarrassing 28 game losing streak they’ve had all but five wins this season and they need a big big is name to get fans excited about the team a ready now player that can get

Them some wins and get them out of this Perpetual state of losing and just a talent of a player that is older that can help these younger guys on their roster I get that from the Pistons perspective but is Zack LaVine the right play here because by taking on his

Contract you’re really limiting what you can do for the future in terms of signing free agents or making additional moves the Pistons have a ton of cap space going in the next season with B donovich on a partial guarantee or sorry not even partial guarantee none of his

Contract next season is fully guaranteed Joe Harris is also coming off the books the only player they have under contract for a while is Isaiah Stewart I just don’t see how getting Zack LaVine makes sense for both the now and for the future now as a bulls fan I would gladly

Take this you’re talking about going from a situation in which you thought there was no trade market for Zack Laine and you might be lucky to simply just move his salary off the books based on what was being reported nationally but if you can get bogonovich

And one of those players one of Cade Jaden Ivy Jaylen Duran or assur Thompson yeah you take that all day every day especially if LaVine is still wanting to be moved I doubt that he’s going to be happy going to Detroit but hey you’re under a contract you have to go to where

You’re traded but again come on now the Pistons are not going to give up that kind of package for Zack LaVine and so if this report is true it explains a lot why the Bulls have more or less done nothing since 2021 on the trade front

We’ve heard AK in some of the press conferences after trade deadlines talking about how you you know trades were available and discussed and while they would have made trades but at what cost if the trade wasn’t worth it like they clearly want the world in trade discussions and that just isn’t

Realistic as a front office they need to lower their asking price they need to lower their trade expectations you’re in a situation where your team hasn’t made much progress over the last two plus years you haven’t made any trades because teams are thinking you’re crazy

In your trade demands and like I said I like the fact that they’re aggressive in their initial ask in a trade negotiation but you eventually have to start coming down to ensure a deal gets done otherwise you’re not going to go anywhere you’re never going to make progress if you have such little

Self-awareness in understanding the landscape of the NBA trade market now I will say Jaden Ivy is probably the most realistic of those young players if they’re seeking one of them along with bogdanovich just given Ivy is kind of having a down year he’s been in and out

Of the starting lineup this season he’s seen a reduced role compared to his rookie season and there’s been talk about the Pistons and Ivy not in alignment with his role on that team so that is the only player I could could see them coming to an agreement on but

Even then I just don’t see how this benefits the Pistons long term taking on a bigger contract for a player who doesn’t fit their timeline and while you could argue well they’re getting off of bogdanovich’s contract who is the oldest player on their team and certainly doesn’t fit their timeline he’s

Effectively on an expiring deal with his contract not being guaranteed next season they can get him off the books next year if they really want to and on top of that at the beginning of the Season there was talk of the Pistons trying to get a first round pick in

Return for bogdanovich because bogdon is one of the better outside Shooters in the league that could be extremely valuable to a contending team that needs a sharp shooter and added scoring so I don’t view trading bonovich as a throwaway for the Pistons or a salary incentive move when they’re trying to

Extract value from him in the form of draft capital and then Kate Cunningham I mean there’s no way the Pistons are giving up on Kade say what you will about Kade you know for being a number one pick and an expected generational Talent who has had his issues with

Injuries but Kate is a player you can build a franchise around that’s not going to happen Jaylen Duran and SE Thompson two players that have a lot of upside potential there’s no way the Pistons would ever move on from either of those guys for Zack LaVine I would be

Ecstatic if the Bulls got one of these players in a deal for LaVine but this is a fantasy world right here in a way I almost hope this report isn’t true because it would seriously make me question the competence level of this front office and the faith I have in

Them to build a contender which has already been waning as it is but thinking they could get something like this for Zack LaVine would set it over the edge for me anyway we’ll see if these discussions gain any Traction in the coming days don’t forget the Bulls

Are taking on the Lakers in a late game tonight I’ll have the post game video out either later tonight or tomorrow morning be on the look out for that in the meantime as always be sure to subscribe and I will see you in the next one

  1. James Edwards III's pops used to play for the pistons back in the day. Edwards III lived in, went to college in Michigan plus wrote for Lansing State Journal (a College style paper) pistons not trying to give up Cade, Ivey, Duren and Ausar Thompson.

  2. People really underestimate this man. If you can trade Westbrook to contenders Lavine should be a huge asset. He has a large contract but as an off ball shooter and transition player, he’s easily a secondary offensive star for a contender.

  3. I'm sorry, but what big name free agent is going to Detroit lol? What they saving money for. You seem to just want them to dump him/his contract for pennies..

  4. W/ Lavine on the trade block, I cant remember if you have done a video on realistic opportunites on the horizon. If not that would be a good one. I mean what can we really expect to get?

  5. Are we seriously hand wringing about finances with the team who has EIGHTY million dollars in cap potentially? These are the EXACT teams who are candidates for “overpaid” talent. Does anyone remember the Otto Porter trade?

  6. You talk about the salary space for DET, but don’t consider that no FAs want to/ever go to DET.

Think lavine to Bulls, it brought a lot of other talent with him. The Pistons have been ass for a long time, they need to make a move.

  7. I think a Pistons trade rumor is good for Zach’s ego😂 threaten to move him to the worst team in the league if he doesn’t play defense

  8. Come on dude, you wanna trade Zach Lavine for just Bojan now? What is this lmao? If that’s what Detroit is giving than no thanks. I’m keeping Zach. What, you would just ship him for nothing? This is absolutely the correct way to go about this. Give me a young player or first round pick. No? Ok, bye.

  9. Tbh maybe the pistons players are being overvalued. Losing 28 in a row is wild. That's a great deal for the Pistons potentially

  10. The smart thing for the Bulls to do is keep Zack until his contact expires……i hate the NBA nowadays fr players dont wanna stay with the franchise that gave u ah chance even when injured soon as things aint going right TRADE why don't we fire our coach first

  11. Lol man, Lavine going to the Pistons would be like him during the Boylen era holy hell that's dark. But give us Cade please.

  12. what about bogan and jalen duren thats they best big jalen duren has size and can run on the break and bogan is a knock down shooter that would be what the bulls should go for obviously they need size now jalen duren is about 250lbs lean muscle can run on the break great rebounder bogan also is a nice veteran with passing ability i.q. and knock down player at the 3 i like that trade but thats just me if they really wanna make a trade we have continually been telling them to go and get a big so get jalen duren we can play either backup for vooch or at the 4 cade is 6'6 he has great playmakinhg abilities and atheletcism as well he could play the 2 on side of coby white if they wanna go that route but i like the first one because we need size and rebounding we dont need anymore guards we're already guard heavy but having bogan would be cool to have decent veteran can spread the floor 6'7 can switch out with patrick williams at the 4 i want duren though

  13. Good take. The Pistons have a very conservative GM, who has publicly stated that Cade, Ausar, Duren, and Ivey are not being moved. Lavine is better than his "market value" right now would suggest, but there's no way that the Pistons give one of their young core and Bojan for him. Bojan just had a 34 point game on elite efficiency in the win yesterday.

  14. I dont really see it being a bad trade for the pistons as zach is probably a better player than anyone they can get in free agency and they have money to burn. Jaden ivey isnt even that guy on a terrible team and duren is a average center. If ivey and duren were that good detriot would have won alot more games

  15. I would gladly take Bogdanovic, an unprotected first and a heavily protected first if they can afford to take on Zach's contract. Yeah, getting Jaden Ivy or one of their other potential stars would be great, but that's unlikely. The Bulls and some Bulls fans are delusional in thinking Zach's trade value is even on par with what it was before the season started. I don't think Zach is toxic, but he hasn't been a $48M player either.

  16. Regardless of whether Troy Weaver would give up one of his young core or not.

If Demar isn’t resigning this off-season then it would be a good idea to get Ausar and have him compete with Dalen & Phillips for the 3 spot this offseason.

If they don’t want to give up Ausar then Ivey would be good if the bulls plan on moving Lonzo.

I can’t imagine DET moving on from Cade since he’s the staple for the franchise or Duren since they don’t really have a solid big behind him.

  17. Man if the Bulls somehow manage to get Cade from the Pistons then I’ll personally fly over to Chicago and apologize to AKME 😂

  18. Zach needs to put his big boy pants on and play for us. He's gonna come back snapping if he wants to get traded. AK needs to have Zach play. All he gonna do is go to another team and tear our azz up

  19. Man if we got their first round pick and Ivey. It’s kinda a win win. Detroit needs a scorer and most likely would have drafted one. The Bulls need another defensive guard/wing but then on top we need a draft pick to get another piece.
