Sasha Vezenkov OUT for Kings after moderate ankle sprain
The Kings getting ready to start their longest road trip of the season and they’re going to be a bit short-handed we just found out today that Sasha venkov suffered a moderate right ankle sprain in that win against the Hawks he will definitely be out against the Warriors and they say he will be
Re-evaluated in 7 to 14 days that’s a long time that’s the length of this road trip and it’s tough to see especially because it seemed like he started to get things going I felt like the leash was a little bit Sasha he was starting to see the floor a
Little bit more I mean we talked about this before he had one of his better games in that L against the Suns obviously 14 points in that game and I felt like he shifted the energy he did I mean that entire game was good until the last eight minutes of that fourth
Quarter we don’t need to revisit that but looking back at what Sasha has been doing even during that losing streak and then uh coming in against the Hawks before he injured his ankle I just felt like he’s done such a better job of just understanding how to utilize his length
For it to be an advantage out there and crashing the boards and staying with guys you couldn’t even imagine him staying with before yeah I mean even last game he had one sequence where he was out on Deon Murray and that’s not going to be good all the time but he
Held his own forc Deonte Murray to give the ball up yeah it’s it’s tough because it felt like he was getting into a good Rhythm it felt like maybe he was earning the trust of Mike Brown and so this is a setback not only for him but set back
For the team because when you have this long road trip that’s going to last almost two weeks there are going to be nights you got to lean on the death and he’s a piece that can come in right away and change things because he can knock down the three you
Can move without the ball you mention him being long using his length getting Second Chance opportunities so just a bummer all the way around and not only that too you I I think a lot of people were looking at Mike Brown’s rotations and getting so frustrated and it finally
It felt like it started tightening up a little by little and you saw Sasha getting his few minutes here and there I mean sure there was still uh different things going on with that rotation but it felt like he started to see his time a little bit more consistent when he was
Seeing the floor and yeah I think even having that and not ex knowing your identity going on this road trip and what your depth is going to be because of Health it just sucks the other bummer Emmy in our Discord huge Sasha fan huge Sasha fan yeah says that there is a
Large Bulgarian population in Chicago and that there are going to be a lot of fans going to the United Center for Kings bull to watch him play now they don’t get to see him play that’s heartbreaking I’m so sorry I also hope that they all get to still say what’s up
To Sasha at some point or just root him on from afar well the game is February 23rd so maybe there’s a chance okay there’s a chance so you’re saying there’s a chance there’s maybe a chance so hopefully Sasha can get back healthy all right Kings fans on this road trip

I said Kings-Bulls was February 23rd…I misspoke…It's February 3rd.
This sucks. Really felt like he was gaining the trust from MB and was playing a lot better because of it. Hopefully he's able to come back closer to that 7-day window so people can watch him in Chicago!
I'm not that optimistic about this road trip because of the way they are playing. If Fox cannot get out of his slump and most importantly attack the cup and put constant pressure on the defense, I see them going 3-4 with wins versus the Warriors, Grizz, and Bulls, but it could get worse. It all depends on their mindset, playing smart on the road (attacking the cup), and fixing their communication issues on defense. It seems like they are NOT talking on the floor when playing defense. They need to be more vocal.
How do you feel about this 7-game road trip for the Kings?
😔
Bad news indeed. 7 days is really too short for that to go away. That could take easily 2-3 weeks. But I'm pretty sure, he will be back after the All-Stars break.
His cuts are butter on bread
MB trusts unconditionally HB. As a basketball commentator said recently, I would like somebody to love me likewise with a such unconditional love.
This could also drastically change how they approach the trade deadline. There is no way they can afford to trade Barnes now. They absolutely have to get more length on this team. PJ Washington might end up being the only low cost option they can get.
I wish the kings would utilize Sasha more. He’s someone that has a lot of potential in my opinion
