Quick Takes: Miami Heat 95 Memphis Grizzlies 106
Welcome back to 5 on the floor quick takes I am Alex Toledo no Brady Hawk with me he’s over there um covering the heat media room I’ll be heading uh shortly to the heat locker room after a disappointing loss at home in Terry rosier’s debut um look they called him
Scary Terry I I I didn’t think that’s what they meant I think he looked a little bit hesitant out there and of course I’m joking a little bit I I I thought there was some ups and downs to his start um I thought actually some of the positives regarding him were him and
Tyler were playing pretty well off each other of course like I said I I think T um there was some shots that Terry passed up but I like the way that they were both kind of zipping and passing the the the ball between each other I thought Terry kind of deferred to Tyler
A little bit um what I did very much like is the way that he was able to just kind of blow by his Defender and get to the rim and you know he he had a few misses at the rim and you know and that
Way he fits right in with the heat but no I in all seriousness a guy who’s able to just break down the defender get into the paint that’s that’s going to generate easy looks I like that part about him um I like the way that he was
Playing off ball sometimes it kind of seemed like he didn’t know exactly what spot to be in right just trying to see the way that he was maneuvering out there um I don’t think he got a lot of on ball touches I feel like he could
Have done more there I feel like if he would have got a chance to run more pick and roll with Bam could have got him a you know going a little bit more there but you saw flashes of the things he can bring I thought he actually had pretty
Active hands on defense helped um H the the length there the 68 wingspan helped get a couple of steals there I’m not even sure if they were credited to him or not but um overall I think like the long arms helped there and really all of this just
Came down to the team’s lack of offense right and that’s been a consistent theme um throughout the Jimmy era specifically since the second year and tonight was just you know a continuation of what’s been happening recently where the offense has just been stinking man like it’s it’s been very very stinky tonight
About 55% at The Rim uh if I remember correctly about 32% in the mid-range which is very bad for the heat another Trend that’s been weird since they’re usually so good in the mid-range um and then you know they shot okay from three but ultimately um the offense was just
Very anemic out there and I I I I had a feeling there was going to be some some clunky fits when it comes to the Terry thing but his fit with Tyler actually made me feel a little bit better about it cuz I didn’t think either one was
Holding the ball too much especially not Terry um and I thought they played off each other pretty well the defense man um it kind of fell off the cliff in the second half compared to the the first where no team could really score and um I think the Grizzlies kind of
Outplayed the heat when it comes to their identity the the Grizzlies um you know the points off turnovers that they kind of got on the Heats 18 turnovers I think was a big big hit because the Grizzlies did not have a good halfcourt scoring game and I think
All those transition buckets that they were able to get in the second half really helped them and stuff in semi- transition and then by the end they just kind of got got going and after the heat were finally able to kind of get a going offensively in the fourth quarter the a
The defense was just not there man it was not there like they they they they brought the game back all the way made got it back down to a two-point game and then boom before you know it a couple of buckets and the game’s over and that was
The problem every time they made a run they weren’t able to sustain it and keep getting stops and that’s supposed to be their identity so the and and I know we’re probably going to hear Jimmy and SPO talk about how their defense needs to be better there especially in the
Second half but truly their bigger problem is the offense and how it bleeds into the defense when they’re not scoring and so that’s something that even though they’ve got Terry Rosier now to help out with you know the offensive punch offensive juice all that optimistic they’ll figure it out but
Yeah there’s going to be some growing pains and now you got the Boston Celtics tomorrow so at least you’re able to get some of those mistakes out today you know you better be you better be hoping that Jimmy and Terry and the rest of them are right tomorrow big game on TNT

This is starting to get worrisome.
Tyler needs to go.
I'm sorry but we need to have an uncomfortable conversation about both Tyler AND Jimmy. The trio of them and Bam just doesn't work.
Well Jimmy needs to come out of the bench and start JJ. I can't believe the star who is making 45 million a year is not to blame for this. Since he came from injury, they are 1-4. He is the leader and he have no fire. One shot in the 4th quarter, C'mon.
Bam is an alpha, the sooner we realize this and try to help him, the better.
The problem is the Heat as an organization has let the leash too loose on Jimmy. Not even Wade would coast this much. The guy barely tries.
Let Scary Terry be the starting PG and not Tyler Herro! 🔥
Jimmy Butler is the problem!! The team is following his lead….during the regular season…he doesn’t care….
