John Collins increasing the trade value. Lauri deserves to be an All Star

We play .500 ball goddammit. Salt of the earth, punch the clock, even win/loss ratio basketball. We lose a couple, guess what? We’ll win a couple, too. But don’t get too excited or let it go to your head. No long winning streaks here, no sir. That’s hubris, which this blue collar, hard working everyman team doesn’t have. A few wins in a row, these guys, true to form, will balance it out with a couple a losses. Yes sir, that’s my Jazz. A good, honest .500 basketball team

This team feels like the Devin Harris/Al Jefferson Jazz with more draft capital and an actual all star

GAME NOTES:
A very balanced game tonight by just about everybody helped us bounce back tonight against Washington. We had 6 in double figures, and had 4 with 19+ points. This is also a franchise record of consecutive games with 120+ points scored with 10 straight games!
We once again got off to a very slow start, but instead of waiting until the second quarter to get it figured out, we figured it out within 5 minutes of game time. We started I believe 2-9 and Washington 6-6, but then we immediately flipped a switch and maintained control from then on.
Our bench was very streaky. Kelly was very aggressive tonight, he was pretty much the only person off the bench able to do work in the first half. Clarkson turned it on in the second half, but damn our bench unit really struggled in the first half. Lots of ugly ISO basketball with a major lack of urgency.
Lauri was our top scorer tonight, 29 points, 11-19 shooting, 6-12 from 3, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals tonight. He was fairly efficient, getting back to what he’s good at, the pick-n-pop and quick cuts. He has tied a season high in assists tonight with 5, he was great at moving the ball.
John Collins was everywhere tonight. A monster on the boards with 15 rebounds (7 offensive!!!!!), 22 points on 11-15 shooting. He missed both of his 3’s, but damn he was a monster in the paint. This was his best game in a jazz uniform, just absolutely feasting in the paint.
Sexton was off his game, going for just 4-11 and 1-2 from 3. 11 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal, and 2 turnovers in 17 minutes. While we were beating the wizards for pretty much the entire game, he only played 17 minutes. When he was in, our pace was greatly improved, so even though he didn’t have the best shooting night, his impact was still made known.
Kelly was our main bench scorer in the first half, and finished with 19 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists on 8-11 shooting, and 3-4 from 3. I like that he was able to get some quality 3 point shots up, something that he doesn’t do consistently. Great Klynyk game
Clarkson had a tale of two halves. The first half he wasn’t playing so hot, whereas he was on fire in the third and fourth quarter. 7-17 shooting, 1-4 from 3, 4-4 from the line, 3 rebounds, a team high 8 assists, and a team high 4 turnovers for 19 points. There were times where it felt like he was reluctant to pass, and wanted to create for himself, which is wild considering he had 8 assists. Overall a pretty solid game for Clarkson, the second half especially.
Kessler had foul trouble, 5 fouls in 15 minutes, and was tasked with stopping the paint barrage of Washington. He only had 1 block, but provided some good overall paint defense in my eyes. His foul trouble really limited him, he had 3 in the first half, and got his next two in the second half fairly early. 2-3 shooting, 4 points, 3 rebounds, 1 block for the Sheriff.
Keyonte didn’t have a good shooting night, but had a great playmaking night. 7 assists, 3 turnovers, 5 points on 1-6 shooting. He was aggressive, and got to the free throw line 4 times, going 3-4 which is great. Not too much for me to comment on his game tonight, he seems to make good decisions, just can’t buy a bucket.
23-23, back to .500!

Weird vibe to this game. Feels good to win, but it felt like a loss, super low energy and kind of boring. And I don’t think the Jazz played particularly well either.

With the win tonight, the Utah Jazz clinch a 50th consecutive season with less than 60 losses. They are the only franchise in NBA history to never have a 60 loss season.

Big Bulls fan tonight, beat LA!

Need more minutes from Dunn imo. I get the need to let KO develop, but if the goal is to win and not rebuild then Dunn should be running the point a LOT more.
