[Fischer] The Philadelphia 76ers are the one destination that currently appears to be a real possibility for Kyle Lowry in the event of a buyout.

> Lowry being dealt to Charlotte adds another name to the field of backcourt players available. He’s a potential re-trade candidate for the Hornets, sources said, but also as a potential player on the buyout market, should Charlotte not find a deal for the veteran floor general. At that point, one destination that currently appears to be a real possibility: Philadelphia, where the Sixers stand as one of the few contenders below the first luxury tax apron and capable of signing a player who was bought out from a contract pricier than this year’s mid-level exception ($12.4 million.) Lowry is not expected to join the Hornets prior to the trade deadline, league sources told Yahoo Sports, and will likely remain away from the franchise while the future of the respected 18-year veteran gets resolved.

  1. yeah he’s old, but watching him take charges against players like Jaylen Brown would make me so happy

This would be a great get, he is washed but he knows Nurse scheme and can accelerate execution

He’s another Pat Beverly that shoots 38% from 3. He won a championship with Nick Nurse, I’d say give it a go.

It’s almost a foregone conclusion that he signs here if he is bought out. Legitimate chance of a ring plus the hometown/Villanova connection.

  5. I just noticed Lowry is 0/18 from 3 in his last 18 attempts…

Another smart veteran on a minimum can’t hurt….if anything you just don’t play him if he doesn’t show anything. But it would be a mistake to expect him to make a meaningful impact. IF he does, than sweet. But this certainly can’t hurt.

  6. My prediction is they will get kyle Lowry and bojan bogdonovic. Clearly morey wants cap space next offseason for some reason

They need somebody that has proven to be clutch when it counts. Dumping it down low and waiting for the turnover hasn’t worked yet. I would take a chance on him.

the only thing he would be useful for is trying to injure someone

  9. I’m cool with this if we don’t have to give up any trade assets

Backup PG has been a major issue as much as we love PatBev. This feels like a free swing, why not take it?

  11. Maxey needs a break so this is needed. Cheap and low risk really.

I’d be pretty disappointed if we gave him the MLE we have at our disposal because he’s pretty redundant with PBev, but at the vet minimum I don’t hate him as a guy filling out the end of the bench after the inevitable trade that sends out some of our expendable cap happens.

low risk, decent award type scenario. Worth a shot if there’s nothing better out there for the right price.

Sexy oubre and the wagon himself will be too much to handle, wife gonna be heartbroken when I say we can’t go to sixers games anymore

  15. He can hold the end of the bench down just as well as Springer. Dude has nothing left

  16. He’s honestly be perfect for us. He would cost next to nothing and all we need out of him is the ability to give us a few minutes off the bench to handle the ball and not fuck things up.

I know people get pissy when washed vets get playing time over our young guys, but all saw exactly why last night. Motherfuckers were playing they were at the local YMCA. You cannot trust that type of play on a contender unless it’s a blowout.

as a buyout, i really can’t complain. i thank god every day for not trading maxey to get him back when he was in toronto.

  18. This move will be okay if it’s in addition to a trade that improves our starting 5. But I hope Morey has more up his sleeve to address our growing list of problem areas.

Its worth a shot (signing him) because if it works out the team won’t have to spend whatever little assets left getting another ball handler and could instead focus elsewhere

Even if he doesn’t play it’s at least a good story I suppose since he’s a hometown dude
