* Ant looked pretty good tonight being the PG with no other offensive creation on the floor. He had some really nice passes that didn’t result in assists, and the Ant/Ayton PnR was the best it’s looked all season. He did have a couple ugly turnovers, but overall I thought he did a pretty good job running the offense and he should have had a few more assists. And he singlehandedly kept us in the game with his scoring. * I thought Ayton played pretty well defensively, and he had some nice moments on offense although it was a little bit mixed as usual. Today there was definitely more good than bad though, so I’ll take it. During the several minutes where we had no guards on the floor, we force fed Ayton a few direct postups and I thought he did an encouraging job. * Camara did a really good job getting to the rim on offense and getting garbage points like he was doing earlier in the season. He’s had a super rough stretch lately so it’s good to see him working hard offensively. I still think he needs to eventually be able to shoot a little bit better to be a good NBA rotation player, but any scoring from him is an improvement.
Negatives:
* Outside Ant, Scoot, and Rupert we went 1/20 from three. Not going to win too many games doing that. * Allowing Sochan to score 31 is awful lol. * Kris Murray had the worst game of his career today. He missed a bunch of open shots, then lost confidence in his shots and pumpfaked out of a couple open looks to drive into traffic and miss layups. Terrible game – hopefully he can regain his confidence and bounce back from it. * Jabari really struggled too against the Spurs’ length. He didn’t look like his normal confident self inside, and shot a few really ugly looking jumpers. * Getting back in transition – I’ve said this for a while, but the fact that we keep crashing the offensive glass from the top of the key is just horrible basketball and leads to tons of fast breaks for the other team, because the guy who should be the first man back is crashing the offensive glass and it leads to a runout where Ant or some other guard is trying to stop a 2 on 1 fastbreak on the other end. It’s just fundamentally not sound, and the Spurs broadcast kept mentioning it over and over again too. * All the injuries really suck. ☹hope Scoot and Grant are OK.

Was hoping for a good game and then Scoot and Jerami got hurt 🙁

Thanks for the nuggets, Taze. I hope Scoot, Jerami, and Malcolm aren’t out too long.

Things could be worse. Any one of us could have been raised as a Laker fan.

Wembanyama’s a cheat code. Spurs beat up the Blazers in the paint. Everyone but Simons and Ayton sucked. Everyone who didn’t was injured. Simons’ handle and decision-making still scares me.
