Steph Curry on Why Warriors Didn’t Call Timeout on Final Play vs. Kings

Can you uh can you take us through the last possession and and also whether you thought about yourself calling a timeout or if you thought a timeout could have helped uh no we talked about it uh before hers both before both of his free throws and um me and

Coach kind of agree like we’re going we’re going to take it kind of thinking you’re going to be down three knowing he’s a good shooter and he missed the first one so I like right yeah we’re still going to going to go expecting he was going to make the

Second one and know you’d be down too and kind of understand the situation and then once he missed the second one Klay got a great rebound but we had already committed to going um and at that point it’s obviously chaos just trying to get over half court see where the defense

Was you know and once JK gave it to me at that point like that’s probably where the timeout I either should have seen it or coach or whoever just just to know there’s like eight people on one side of court and we had a screen they trapped and I

Was trying to get the ball back to Draymond to see what could happen so I would say there probably should have been a timeout right when I got the ball and turn and saw that the court wasn’t balanced right and we still have plenty of time but you know the chaos of the

Moment you’re trying to make a play and sometimes it works out sometimes it doesn’t

Steph Curry reveals the Warriors decided against using a timeout before their final possession in the loss against the Sacramento Kings.

  1. Damn I miss Durant cry 😢. I know everyone is going to say "we won without him" but we could have won like 3 more and still be contenders. We really took him for granted.

  2. I'd say that was a pretty stupid risk move of them not calling a time out, they ought to know better during crucial seconds, they've been there before not once not twice heck evem thrice countless times they've been in that situation, most of it was clutched by them still it was risk they should've measured right. I'll be inserting Lebron for no reason but if it were them playing that and Lebron was trapped on defense, he would've immediately called time-out. NBA ain't only about skills and confidence to throw shots, strategic mind is of utmost importance read the flow of the game.

  3. Honestly with how crap the warriors have been these last like 20 games I’m just happy they were able to be competitive with the kings..they need to bring that same energy to every game and they’ll be back to being actual competitors

  4. It’s as clear as a can be…they’ve gotten old.

As a consequence they can’t finish games anymore.

The lack of ability to defend the 3 point line was ridiculous.

  5. I'm not an expert but, considering everything, I really can't understand why you wouldn't have called a timeout in that situation. Just seems really braindead coaching to me.

  6. Down year for the Warriors. They don't look washed or to me. They look like the pieces don't fit & Coach has realized gotta play the the young guys. The trio has one or two more chips in them if they get the pieces right & lean on the youth.

  7. Like curry said, they had already committed/mind set, and didn’t use their mind. Any players/coaches would call timeout with that many secs left down by only 1 to regroup.

  8. Curry could have 3 guys covering him on the final play and he still wouldn't pass the ball.

  9. If Dray hit all of his free throws, also Wiggins, Dubs might have won. Thompson turned the ball over three times in a row, Wiggins missed three open lay ups. Thompson is back to sulking and his lack of energy and his mind not focused on game should get him benched if not traded. Bottomline: the highest paid basketball player in the world isn't making shots in the final five minutes of every game. Without Dray on the floor, the opposing team just scores at will. The rest of the team is playing well enough to win games but the $50 million a year Curry, along with the $40 million a year Thompson plus the $30 million Wiggins all add up to zip scoring in crunch time. Some pundit pointed out that if the $120 million dubs trio had made 2 threes in the last 3 minutes of nearly every game they played this season, the dubs would be at the top of the Western Conference. Team is playing well…Steph, Klay and Wiggs are crap in the final deciding minutes of close games.

  10. Warriors what's wrong I'm disappointed 😢 with your performance. Every team BEAT U UP😂
You are still my number ONE team but whenever it's your time to play I'm VERY WORRIED n SCARED fearing looses.
