I know the culprits. Looney, Steph & Saric.

And we got blown out by teams that were missing their best players. Trae-less Hawks and Grizzlies missing like 7 players. The healthier teams like Toronto and Pelicans blew us out and they are not even elite.

  3. Is Luke Walton available? We had great defense when he was here.

Knicks is nasty wit it defensively especially with the acquisition of OG who can damn near guard from 1-5 except for wemby. All that physicality they bring. This post season is gonna be hella fun to watch.

Teams are shooting 75% in the restricted area against the Warriors in the last 10 games, just gross

  7. I hate to say it, but the culprits are really Klay and Steph, followed by Saric and Looney. Steph’s defense has really taken a step back this year, and Klay isn’t fast enough to guard 1-2-3 and he’s also not tall enough to guard 4s.

Then there are our big men. TJD is solid on defense, but just lacks the firepower and any ability to spread the floor. Loon isn’t moving well and is toast in the PnR. Saric is great at what he is expected to do– spread the floor and score. His defense is what you would expect– bad.

Lesser issues are that Kuminga and Wiggins are both good on-ball defenders and at the point of attack, but their weak side, help, and rotations are really lacking.

Just overall bad defense unfortunately with pieces that aren’t complimenting each other. Age finally caught up to our players.

This is what happens when you don’t build a roster properly.

WOWWW the eye test is bad but the analytics is worse. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|poop)

Our starting guards are old and can’t defend the point of attack against younger, athletic guards, and to top it off, we have no real rim protection. Plus they don’t have the defense or offense to counteract the bad turnovers like how they used to.

  11. My son and I been talking over this awful stretch. We both agree it’s our Defense that is the problem. Not the offense. Even when we have off-shooting nights, if the D holds, we win. We letting people get open dunks, hit 50% on 3s, and scoring 130+ a night. And I just read in the comments, 75% opponent FG % in the paint? That’s better than peak Shaq!! We aint winning like that.

I have no idea why Kerr kept running the Looney/Dario lineup. Dario on Barnes killed us

  13. people are saying Klay can defend still defend big guys but then he made HB look like lebron James yesterday lol, adding to the point that steph has been really poor on defense this year with over helping and not blocking out

I don’t understand why don’t we play TDJ when Looney isn’t defending well. Our offense is fine, we need more defense. Maybe Saric and Kuminga, and TDJ and Draymond. I don’t know what combination works best. But Saric and Looney ain’t it

  15. Top 5 offense is nice. In a large part due to Klay finding his consistency again.

Need to somehow fix that defense tho. That’s awful.

  16. UnnamedStaplesDrone

Nothing surprising here. Our offense is good enough to win in the playoffs, its the defense that’s a complete joke.

Also the impact that OG trade had on the Knicks.. there’s a honeymoon period so i wanna see how it goes but wow.

  17. So your telling me if our defence was average we’d be the Jazz????

  18. This what happens when they disregard the need for a rim protecting center especially with our guards getting older.

  19. PirateXKing

When you run 3 guard lineups and put players out of position that’s what happens. And have the audacity to tell the reporters the team lack the grit tonight
