According to the average NBA fan we should trade Lillard for Davion Mitchell to improve our perimeter D ( It’s his fault we let opponents score 10 more points per game)

He’s defense on curry was really good last year and he knocked down some three. So my question is why letting him go? Offense too bad?
Fantasy_Ball
If we can get him for campaign and that Portland second, why not but he’s not that good.
Big-Suggestion3053
He’s only 6 foot tall and an offensive liability so I’d rather look elsewhere
Onlyplay2k
Any trade will help us but who will they take? Our depth chart isn’t deep so…..

One of the only Realistic gets for us. Would take him over cam eaisly

Why don’t you go trade for him on your NBA2k … as of now, Pat and Cameron are available but without including picks there aren’t a lot of upgrades available. Davion is not an upgrade.

He’s awful on offense but amazing on defense. He’d slot in well to our starting lineup since Giannis, Dame, and Khris can take the offensive pressure off of him and let him just focus on being our PoA defender.
That would let us move Beasley to be our 6th man and best bench scorer. The Dame+Beasley backcourt defense is just too bad, so Mitchell would be cheap and improve our rotations significantly.

Idk man can our bench unit really have another absolute nothing on offense?
HikingWeasel
Can we trade 2 of the 3 coaches we’re paying for for him?
Smilechurch
Unless we can pick him up for some boiled peanuts and a half dollar piece, hard pass.
He is basically Javon Carter with no shooting ability.
celestialpraire
I mean there are def better options out there but this dude is a lockdown POA defender, if we can get him for cheap it’s a home run

Dude absolutely sucks. No we should not make the call for a guy shooting 37% and 27% from 3.
Free-Power-9785
i’d only want him if we dont give up any 2nds or young guys for him specifically (maybe in a bigger 3-4 team trade where we get back 2 defenders by shipping pat + assets, and the 2nd defender will be a better player – where we basically just swap cam and davion but do 3 teamer to let salaries work). His value has tanked a lot – he’s a 6′ undersized guard that is a elite POA defender against other guards, but on the offensive side he’s a liability (horrible playmaker and look at his shooting splits) – if its just a cam for davion, i’d be okay with him being a potential backup pg. i’d rather have us use every asset we have for a sg/sf around at least 6’5 who’s a solid POA defender (but can defend guards/wings) and won’t be a complete offensive liability.
Tinytimmytimtim
He is the perfect example of a player with almost no utility. I know people like his defense and people remember some good defense he played on curry, but curry averages 34 ppg on 49/38 shooting that series. He’s a 0 on offense and if there’s someone who’s so good that we’d need Davion to guard them, they’ed score 35 anyway.
Individual guard defense is not worth that much, otherwise Patrick Beverly wouldn’t be on a minimum. If Davion was taller and could seamlessly switch onto bigger forwards, then he’d be legit a great pickup, but he’s not.

What’s he good at?

Dude’s a defensive stud but not an offensive liability like Davion.
