Hawks vs. Mavericks Postgame Press Conference: Quin Snyder

Um I know before the game you talked there was a small margin for erir it seemed like in the last minute or so in those pedestrians there was some late executions and switches or Closeouts or things like that well you know they put a lot of pressure on you when when

Lucas and we talked about it you know that was an unusual night um the way that he shot the ball um really in every situation and then you know trying to get it out of his hands puts you in a situation where there’s other guys that

Um have the opportunity to to get open looks and um you know you’re in multiple effort situations and you’re not going to be able to cover everything and as I said um you know you want to be perfect in those things and and make someone

Else you know take a shot to be which which actually you know that part happened as well I thought exm um his two threes were big threes especially the one late and Josh Green made shots tonight um so lot of lot of challenges there that that start with you know the

Game that Luca had coach your thoughts on the job that deante did during the fourth quarter I thought he did pretty decent job yeah we we you know we were we started JJ on him and we wanted size on him and then sad G I didn’t think we really got up into him

As much as we needed to um which is hard he’s 68 and he’s shooting step backs but um putting DJ on him um DJ was really active up theor and and uh you know that that was good he he he was we were able

To get it out of his hands more um but we were trapping at that point too um we tried to do that during the course of the game as well changed coverages on him um you know but he’s he’s good at making those reads but yeah dejonte did

A good job getting up and and trying to speed him up it’s hard to speed him up you you kind of referred to it there but it seemed like there was a little bit more of the blitzing trapping coming out of halftime after he had the big

First half what’s sort of the messaging is is it just try to make somebody else beat you is as simple as that yeah well that that was happening in the first half too um it just wasn’t we weren’t executing it very well and you know when

We did trap and got out of his hands you know someone had to rotate we had the one time we trapped him and Trey came up with the steel um but there were you know we were we did a bunch of different things and sometimes you know you know

When you’re trying to do too much even um but that the I thought the game required that you know know like anybody that’s going like that you’re um you know you’re you’re going to try to find something that can get him off balance and sometimes change is good in the

Second half um as I said we we we tried to keep sadik on him early and then switch JJ onto him late um and I thought our execution was better in some of those situations you know still the ball you know there little things that you

Like I said you almost have to be perfect in those situations to try to force someone else you know you want trying to get Josh Green to shoot a three or hard way to shoot a three well Josh Green I don’t know what he was from

Three but he made him too so um a little bit of pick your poison but at that point obviously the way that Luca was going you know that that alternative was better all right thanks coach okay

  1. It is sad to see hawks in this loses streak, but tonight hawks had no chance against Luka Doncic. A very unlucky turns of events but all the Hawks can do is improve from these games with having better defence on amazing players like Luka Doncic and I do see them having a chance back in the play in's to hopefully make the play offs again.

  2. We kept getting close late in the 4th but this one slipped away.

Incredible performance by Luka. Bob Rathbun called it, it was like watching the performance from a video game played out in real life.

  3. Luka went for blood tonight. And when that happens, it's over. 73 pts on 76% is mvp stuff, he's the undeniable mvp of the league.
