Bucks players on Doc Rivers

Um great voice um someone obviously who’s had success in this league who has respect in this league um big name coach top 15 coach all time um can go on and on but um feel like he’s a great fit obviously his numbers in the Raptors here so you know what better team to

Coach than have your numbers in a raptor I mean that’s cool you know being the sideline then look up see your name up there so that’s dope in itself so um great guy um talk to him today um he’s on board with us and know that you know the expectations of this team

Is really high and uh I think he’s ready for I think it’s just the leadership that I think he can bring he has that same past player perspective that Griff had um but he’s been doing it for a long time and he’s won a championship and um the

Interesting thing to me is you know I know all a bunch of Talking Heads will talk about some of the negative things because that’s what social media is they like to do um but you talk about the success that he’s had and the ability that he’s had to get teams um into

Positions to win whether they’ve closed or not you know I look at our team and I look at the situation that he’s coming into um we get to those situations I think we got a really good chance to close so uh I think his ability to come in his ability to command respect

Immediately his ability to lead because he’s LED um for so long he’s LED all different types of personalities all different types of um guys in the NBA he’s LED through different eras of the NBA um I think that will be stuff that um will be super helpful to everybody on

The team but um I think it’ll also have the ability to add some structure and add some consistency to what we’re doing um and I think he’ll be able to really mentor and um you know see things from a perspective that not a lot of guys on

Our team uh maybe will have been able to because they haven’t been in the NBA for 25 plus years as a coach let alone um you know his playing career as well yeah uh and you know I’ve played against doc uh a ton in my career uh you I’m excited

To have him here I I think obviously has tons of experience he he’s been in the NBA played in the NBA for a very long time uh so that’ll be good to have in this locker room you know kind of out an outside perspective to what’s been going

On this year in the locker room or not in the locker room but on the court with the team um you know just we get to use his outside point of view POV and his uh and all his wisdom he has you know it’s going to be very beneficial for us um

You know just always um in the running man he always um is right there um in the playoffs um you know um being there getting there um leading guys know in the right direction been uh coach for a long long time um coach one of my favorite players Kevin Garnett as well

Too so that’s kind of dope can ask some stories and things like that so I think that’s really cool and you know play with Ray John Rondo as well when I was with the bulls and that was his coach as well so um you know great guy um like I

Said top 15 coach and just can’t wait to get get started um obviously every year in the league is different man you go through highs and lows in the season you might get a new coach you never know what’s going to happen in the league so

Just got to stay ready so you ain’t got to get ready I I I mean I thought he was great you know um I think sometimes less is more his ability to you know he said a few sentences is um and they were powerful and you know he talks about

Just being able to have that identity um that we should have as the Milwaukee Buck you talk about the talent that we have on the team um you know team should be a little bit more afraid to play us and I think right now with the way our

Defense has been playing and um the way we’ve kind of been up and down in game specifically I know we have a great record um I don’t think teams have really been worried about coming in and playing us whether it’s at home or on the road and so making sure that we have

That chip on our shoulders that we’ve had um for a while you know since I got here six years ago you know we played with a chip on a shoulder and and you know teams knew it was going to be tough when they were playing the Bucks and so

I think that was a great start and for for him as a leader I think everyone’s bought into that and then uh it’s just about continuing to get better and growing every single day learning from them as quickly as we can crash course if you will and uh then continuing to

Learn over time and I think all the guys are excited about it

Pat Connaughton, Brook Lopez and Bobby Portis offer their thoughts on new Bucks coach Doc Rivers.

  1. Doc needs to straighten out Portis…. I’m tired of his chest thumping, instead of contributing to points

  2. Well, they have no choice but to sing his praises. When they get bounced in the first round, then they're going to blame him still.

  3. How is Doc a bum ???? When he's coaching PRE MA DONNAS !!!! CLOWNS 🤡 STAY OFF OF DOC JOCK STRAP. ITS ALOTTA WORST WHITE COACHES IN THE LEAGUE. FACKS !!!!! MILLION $$$ PLAYERS NOT PRODUCING !!!! ST ATAY OFF OF DOC NUTS
