Hey guys what is up it is the fast break report here bringing you guys another Vlog so we got to talk about Miles Turner and uh I’m going to be honest it’s probably going to be a different video than most of you are expecting out

Of me um you know for a long time I have been a Miles Turner hater uh on this channel uh and I’ve Had My reasonings for it uh but this video is going in a bit of a different direction because one of the guys that I feel like has

Benefited most from the past gal yakum trade has been Miles Turner now obviously it’s only a small sample size it’s not anything to call home about just yet but um the Pacers have been playing relatively well since trading for Pascal cakam we beat the 76ers the other night and we ended up

Beating Phoenix last night uh and we ended up spoiling Devon Booker’s wild game I mean Devin Booker had 62 points in the Phoenix Suns lost to us which is absolutely insane Pascal cakam came out and did his thing again uh he had 31 points uh four steel seven

Rebounds uh shot two or three from the three-point line and 63% from the field passal yakum is already making his Mark with the Pacers it took like two or three games for him to really you know adapt to what we do and and the players

Around him but uh it’s nice to see that the Pacers now that they have Pascal sakam can rely on somebody to go out there and be a scorer for them that isn’t Tyrese halberton and still manage to win games now the thing is I want to talk about Miles Turner with this mostly

Because U Miles Turner was the guy that I thought uh was going to be better now that we have Pascal zakum because for a very long time uh I was under the impression that Miles Turner could not be the star starting center on a winning

Team um and if he was to be here by himself I would still stand by that um Miles Turner is a to me a significantly overrated on ball Defender um he’s an okay rim protector like he’s good at blocking shots um but when it comes to like just flat out stopping guys who

Play his position or outplaying them for that matter mil generally does not do that um you know I would argue that these last five games that Miles Turner has played has been some of the best basketball that I’ve seen out of him on a semi-consistent basis since he became

An Indiana Pacer um you know in the past five games okay last night Miles Turner only played like I think 17 or 18 minutes uh he shot two assists from the field uh you know he was a negative2 box plus minus he had five points three rebounds and two assists two turnovers

And two personal fouls uh shot one of one from the free throw line but it’s the games before that before last night that I’m looking at that I’m like you know what miles might be able to be the guy um you know against Philadelphia he had 20 points nine rebounds uh two

Blocks four personal fouls one turnover uh he shot 75% from the free throw line 50% from three and 53 uh 58% from the field then the game before that he put up a 22- six uh the game before that was uh 12-2 which is is n great but the game

Before that at Portland he did 29 and 12 um and we’re starting to see more you know 20 and 10 numbers coming out of Miles obviously we only have one game here to go by the one in Portland where he put up 29 Points and 12 rebounds but

You know against Philadelphia he had 20 and n and for a long time it wasn’t that I wanted miles to outplay guys like jool embiid or Nicole yic I just wanted him to be competitive and finally he’s become that he’s he’s you know since we’ve acquired Pascal cakam it

Seems like he’s actually a competitive Center uh which is something that I never thought I’d be saying about Miles Turner because for a long time it seemed like he played basketball like a little girl for a lot of the a lot of the time that he’s been here now that he

Has Pascal cakam miles can finally do what he’s meant to do stand out on the three-point line and shoot threes and you know maybe get a rebound every here and there and and block a couple shots that’s what miles Turner’s like wheelhouse is trying to be a traditional

Center is not something he has ever been good at um and I don’t know why people seem to think he is but he’s simply not um but now that we have Pascal SE yakum it allows Pascal cakam to handle those duties Pascal sakam had a triple double against the Philadelphia 76ers the other

Night and Miles put up 20 and N so you know as long as you got guys like Pascal SE yakum and honestly Pascal yakum was one one of the only dudes in the NBA that I thought like miles could play alongside and actually be good with and

We’re seeing that very early on we’re seeing that miles is actually playing better um and you know I as much as I I have faith in Tyrese halberton there’s only so much Tyrese halberton can do to make miles a better basketball player however Pascal cakam is a guy who draws

In the defense you know he’s a guy with a post game he he does all the that Miles Turner doesn’t do okay run the floor well you know actually I can’t even say that Miles Turner runs the floor well but Pascal cakam is a TR is a

P like a pure transition player he’s got a post game he rebounds he plays defense on on a decent level he can stretch the floor and shoot the three to some extent right and that’s opening up up Miles Turner a whole lot for open three-pointers and you know to get

Rebounds because now people are worried about boxing out Pascal cakam you’re seeing a lot of the pressure getting just get taken off of a guy like Miles Turner and it’s providing him with a lot more opportunity on the offensive end as well so I have to be honest um miles has

Been better A lot better um granted you know he’s had a a g you know 12-2 a 5-3 I’m not expecting him to go out there every single night in average 20 and 10 but you know more often than not it would be nice to see him just get a

double double and a lot of times it seems like he puts up games like you know for the longest time he was like a 13- six player or a 12- seven player now he you know with Tyrese halberton it’s like he became a 17- seven player now

That we have Pascal SE yakum look for miles to maybe be more like a a 20 and 10 player um and that’s what we’re starting to see um you know I think this team is going to go is going to I honestly think this team is better than

A lot of people are giving it credit for um I know there’s a lot of analysts out there who say like the Knicks are better I simply don’t believe that um you know I don’t even honestly I don’t even think the Sixers are a better team now at this

Point tyes Maxi and and Jolan beat are very good but I think we have way more depth than Philadelphia does and I just think NBA Talking Heads don’t want to admit that um it feels a lot as if NBA Talking Heads simply don’t want to admit that the

Pacers are actually a good team now you know a lot of people are saying that like we’re not a top four seated team in the East I would disagree I would think we’re actually could be as high as the fourth seed um don’t get me wrong jol and beid

Tobias Harris and Tyrese Maxi are very good I just think we’re a better scoring offense and I think we’re slowly getting better on defense as well um and I have a feeling by the end of the season uh things are going to start to get you

Know a lot easier on on the the defensive end of the floor too um our schedule is you know starting to ease up a little uh we play Boston and um I think who we play next I think Memphis I could be wrong about that don’t quote me

But I’m actually just glad that we came out of January with you know a not negative record or a positive record because when Tyrese halberton got injured I was like okay like this could go one or two ways it could be really good or really bad and they managed to not like they

Managed to to get it done you know what I’m saying and honestly before acquiring pasel seak I would argue that we probably would have lost a lot of those games um especially the Phoenix game and the Philadelphia game like those are two games that like if we didn’t trade for

SE yakum I don’t think we win those games uh so it’s nice to see that what Pascal SE yakum provides is already impacting the win loss column and and I think when Tyrese comes back it’s only it’s only going to get better so yeah for once I’m I’m giving Miles Turner some recognition

It’s nice to see him get better one guy that I’m hoping gets better in the last quarter of the season is Ben Maan and I know Ben mathan’s a guy we don’t talk about much on the channel but I’m just going to call it what it is man um if Ben mathine doesn’t

Make a significant stride in the last quarter of this year or last half this year and in into the start of next season I would argue that Tyreek uh Benedict mathan has like 82 games left between this season and next season to really show us that he can be the number three guy

Because I’m going to be honest Benedict mathan’s three-point shooting isn’t great it’s okay but it’s not great or Elite by any means and his ball handling really isn’t the greatest either his shot creating is leaves a lot to be desired as well if Ben mathine doesn’t improve in those categories in the next

Half a year year and a half um there’s a possibility that the Pacers might actually include him in a trade for somebody else who can do those things um even right now as we speak miles bridges of the Charlotte Hornets is available so it’s just the idea that miles is improving

Pascal’s proven to be very good Aaron n Smith is improving and it seems also like Benedict mathan’s in uh Rick carlile’s dogghouse it would seem like there’s been times where Rick has taken Ben out of the game because he you know there’s moments where he doesn’t play

Team basketball and uh if if you know if that’s the case um you know don’t be shocked if if if something happens next year where they decide to move on from Benedict mathine to maybe acquire a Brandon Ingram or you know uh Paul George still hasn’t signed his extension

With the Clippers yet you know and if if Paul George becomes available in free agency he’s a guy that we can maybe acquire and we would probably have to you know uh not not as far as trading for him but he’s a guy we could maybe

Sign or maybe even in a sign in trade maybe we trade Ben mathine I I don’t know and I know Pacers fans don’t like to hear that but the fact of the matter is like if Ben mathon doesn’t make like a significant leap next year as a basketball player

I’m assuming he will but Draymond Green put it perfectly fine like you know like I think he put it better than anybody else I heard is that Ben mathon holds the keys to this team being great or not being great he’s the guy that’s going to

Make or break this team and if you know it’s obvious the front office is trying to win now you know if if you know we got halberton we have seak if Ben doesn’t improve in the within the next year and a half don’t be surprised if he gets moved

I’m just telling you right now I know paers fans aren’t going to want to hear that but don’t be surprised okay because they’re not waiting the the Pacers are not waiting for anybody they got SE yakum it’s obvious they’re getting aggressive the Pascal cakam trade tells

Us all we need to know about this team the idea that they are looking to win now with or without Benedict mathine so you know just keep that in the back of your mind because I mean even buddy hee okay like buddy hee’s available Obi toppen is available and If the right

Player comes along Ben mathine could probably be available so you know I I want to I just want to put that out there you know the trade deadline is about a week away and you know a week and a half away I would say and if a guy

Like you know I don’t know who you know if if somebody becomes available a Mike H Bridges a you know Paul George is impossible to trade for without trading Miles Turner but you know if you look at some of these other guys guys like um

Brandon Ingram um you know if if any of these guys become available you know I I wouldn’t put it past the Pacers to maybe consider throwing mathine in one of those trades if it means getting a a a solidified starter for the wing position cuz Aaron

N Smith is very good but he comes off the bench for defense but Ben mathan’s the guy that I’d look out for um because I I feel like the front office likes him but if something better comes along they’ll probably trade him now I don’t

Know if that would be a huge mistake for the Pacers or not um I personally would like to see them trade for Demar d r rozan at this point just to to make a serious attempt at winning something but I certainly would not trade benedict mathan for demard de Rosen like let me

Put that out there right now but I’m saying if dear Rosen becomes available he’s a guy that like if you got to give up buddy he and OB toppen to make that happen I’m not I’m not mad about it I’m really not like you know Pascal zakum

Averages 20 points a game and we saw what he could do for this team and the time that Tyrese halton’s been out if you add to rzan like I I’m positive we’re we’re going to make a solid playoff run and he’s got one year left
