@Los Angeles Lakers

[Irwin] Anthony Irwin basically said that sources told him that the Hawks “fucked around and are gonna find out” with Murray. The Lakers are going to take assets off the table if Atlanta keeps playing coy, they know this is the best offer ATL will receive.

He made sure to emphasize the Lakers aren’t out on Murray, but are exploring alternatives with more detail than before, especiall6 because of the Terry Rozier trade. They don’t want to be behind other teams and caught with no other solutions. He also said the Lakers are confident they will get their targets on the buyout market because of the extra money they can spend compared to the competition, so look for end of bench guys to be traded to make room.

I know people here aren’t the biggest fan of Irwin, but he’s legitimately been a day or two ahead of the biggest news outlets like Shams/Woj/Stein. Think he needs to be listened to more than someone like Jovan at this point

That’s great. LA should really try for a legit 3-D wing before blowing all their assets on a Murray trade.

It’s just funny to me, that even if this is true, we barely have assets to begin with lol

I’d really love to see Caruso over any other target at this point but it’s so unlikely. Murray isn’t bad for the price we are getting him at.

Jovan has the same sources tbh he just waits on the info to be more detailed.
Anthony just jump at his info the minute he gets it which could bite him in the ass if certain people use him…

Irwin was bad, but this year he has been strangely accurate

I guess he has some plug from within

Lakers SHOULD already take DLo off the table in my opinion. We play so much better with him

We need to be ambitious, and present a deal involving Gabe/Max/JHS/FRP/Swap which is as good a deal that Hawks can get for an unprofessional and disgruntled star

If we have to offer more than that, I’m more than willing to punt this season, fire xHamster, so as to keep the THREE FRPs available for an offseason mega deal for Mitchell

  5. This makes sense – was he explicit with alternative targets?

Did I read this correctly “the Lakers will have extra money in the buy out market to get what they need”. Seriously, cheapo Jeanie and her deal maker Rob are looking for above market players willing to play for below market salaries. Looks good for bench players 7 thru 15.

Getting Gordon Hayward off of a buyout would legitimately be as impactful as any trade possible.

Sounds like he’s hedging for when no deal happens.

Our FO should be firm and not let Atlanta fuck around too long before the deadline but they should be willing to still include all the listed assets even if they threaten to take them out. It’s a good deal for us and a decent return for Atlanta.

Bogdanovich for Rui, JHS and Max.  That’s about it.

Dlo playing well is really fucking the hawks right now. Lakers can be patient and let the hawks panic much more especially with murray posting weird shit like wanting out

  12. CultExterminator

Good on Rob. That original offer was an overpay to begin with. All the Dejounte nuthugging idiots can piss off.

Trade for Murray and keep DLo. Start when Gabe, fillers, and a first round pick.

  14. Advanced-Intention30

Lakers should not give up draft picks and DLo stays !!!DLo shouldn’t be disrespected like this. He’s showing up and balling. Lakers are 6 – 2 since he’s been inserted back as a starter.

  15. Vexing_Pie

Makes sense lol. DLo goes on a tear right after being put back into the starting lineup. Murray and his dad start posting shit on social media. Murray sits out first game. Hawks are losing leverage fast

We are altering the deal, pray we do not alter it any further.

This is the approach any smart team would take so good to hear. Basically ATL is waiting to see what other offers may come thru but by doing that they are losing leverage.

I expect this to pick up after Jan 30. ATL will want it to happen a few days before the deadline so they can make additional moves.
