Deandre Ayton Postgame Interview | Portland Trail Blazers 96, Chicago Bulls 104

D last all games you you kind of found your groove inside outside they’re finding more verticality is it more just getting healthy getting back in or is their emphasis kind of from chaning the guards to to get you more involved find you in certain spots I’ll say a little

Bit of both um you know me main mainly taking my time doing treatment every day making sure my leg was right um just to keep up with my guards and you know them just trying my best to get me in Rhythm um you know the past few games you know

Just really trying to find some chemistry on hitting guys on screens and them finding me on the rolles and stuff like that and you know um me finishing about a rim or whether it’s in a short row so I mean it’s good rhythm going on right now and I like

It last couple of games it seems like they’ve been actively trying to find you more like you know drop was there anything that led to that was there any kind of like chuny saying hey we need to get more stuff for da or any of the guys

Saying like we need to it’s just it’s just my teammates in general talking to me telling me how to roll out how teams are playing me and then I’m just listening you know um you know it’s helping us both um you know uh you know running two passes and things like that

Not waiting in the short roow not letting the low man come up and you know stop our offense like that you know um Malcolm brogen you know um I communicated with him a lot on screens and you know um I still learn you know learning with him and how I set screens

On just you know setting and rolling out fast enough and you know with ant I got set it up a little higher and with school I got set a little lower so you know just them communicating with me how they want their screens and how they

Want me rolling out and you know putting pressure on that Rim so it’s a chemistry thing we all communicating defensively I mean we know we talked a lot about kind of your offense how do you feel like you performed defensively over the last since you’ve been back

Really I think coach them been having me around that uh perimeter a lot trusting me to switch out on guards and you know make our life easy to close our possessions instead of you know just struggling so hard to you know um stay in that traditional drop defense but you

Know some guys are crashing from These Wings these days rebounding like centers so you know us just changing it up a little bit and giving you know the opponent a different look at things you know helps our offense as well to get us moving and I’m the first one down the

Court you know whether I’m on the guard contesting a shot and I’m down there ceiling and you know we got the advantage you know our guards are getting better though you know they be banging with them Big Fellas down there and I respect that um they put just as

Much trust as me on the perimeter sliding my feet a couple times and I trust him with a a couple two dribbles with they back with the D was back to the basket so you know it’s a it’s a thing we we we trying to learn here you

Guys have B more competitive it seems like in the last couple weeks but what what do you guys need to do to kind of get over the top maybe and then maybe win games like this or you know I mean okay see it’s not a good example but win

Games like that we just got to execute more um there’s really no uh it’s really no um no no no Hollow ways in in how we uh approached you know U closing out these games we just have to really rely on each other and you know just keep

Things a little tightened up you know um I think sometimes we we have these late turnovers that really affects the game and you know it hurt kind of hurt us down in the stretch but you know other than that uh I think that’s the only thing you know just making sure we take

Care of the ball and not the teams Rush us a little bit but other than that we learn every day and we not going to stop competing man we going to compete till the end and you know um these dudes are having fun I’m watching Everybody learn

How to play Real Basketball you know um from scoot Anders into Chris Murray you know I’m just really watching Everybody soak up everything to really you know contribute and that’s what it’s really all about you know yeah we playing hard as hell trying to win but you know it’s

All about these dudes learning baskball and you know just adding some to their to their arsenals

  1. bruh, these new era scrubbs sound lyke lil boys an cubs. the golden era had real men playin a grown man sport an they sounded lyke grown ass men. this generation is ass juice.

  2. I have never seen you lead the break or be the first person back on defense. That would be like me saying I saw a mythological creature.
