Spurs have won every single time there’s a bat

I am genuinely surprised that no one has consolidated all of this yet, but it appears that the Spurs have won **every single game** in which there is a recorded bat sighting:

\- 31 Oct 2009 – Spurs v Kings **113**\-94 (the [Manu game that started it all](https://www.espn.com.sg/nba/recap/_/gameId/291031024))

\- 11 Mar 2011 – [Spurs v Kings](https://www.espn.com/nba/recap/_/gameId/310311024) **108**\-103 ([bat flew into a fan](https://www.deseret.com/2011/3/11/20178785/nba-best-spurs-survive-scare-from-kings-and-bat))

\- 28 Dec 2015 – [Spurs v Wolves](https://www.espn.com/nba/recap/_/gameId/400828352) **101**\-95 ([Coyote’s 1st](https://www.si.com/nba/2015/12/29/ap-bkn-spurs-batman))

\- 12 Jan 2017 – [Spurs v Lakers](https://www.espn.com/nba/game/_/gameId/400900009) **134**\-94 ([bats spotted at Lakers practice in the AT&T Centre](https://247sports.com/nba/los-angeles-lakers/Article/bats-freak-out-dangelo-russell-and-julius-randle-during-los-angeles-lakers-practice-at-att-center-50495677/))

\- 1 Feb 2019 – [Spurs v Nets](https://www.espn.com/nba/game/_/gameId/401071440/nets-spurs) **117**\-114 ([several bats spotted](https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2019/02/01/invasion-bats-interrupts-spurs-nets-game-san-antonio/))

\- 2 Feb 2019 – [Spurs v Pelicans](https://www.espn.com/nba/recap/_/gameId/401071454) **113**\-108 (consecutive game with bats, [Coyote’s 2nd](https://www.poundingtherock.com/2019/2/2/18208782/coyote-mascot-caught-bat-swn-antonio-spurs-pelicans-game))

\- 10 March 2019 – [Spurs v Bucks](https://www.espn.com/nba/game/_/gameId/401071672/bucks-spurs) **121**\-114 ([scaring giannis](https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/nba/bucks/2019/03/10/bat-interrupts-play-during-bucks-spurts-game/3126787002/))

\- 27 Jan 2024 – [Spurs v Wolves](https://www.espn.com/nba/game/_/gameId/401585277/timberwolves-spurs) **113**\-112 ([Coyote’s 3rd](https://www.nba.com/timberwolves/news/wolves-fall-to-spurs-113-112))

FiveThirtyEight covered the reasons for the frequent appearances [back in 2019](https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/why-are-there-so-many-bats-at-spurs-games/) when it was at its peak (3x in a year); the TLDR being that (1) the stadium is in the middle of a migration path and (2) is often an easy warm refuge during the cold months. That said, given the astounding correlation to wins , should the Spurs not…actively attract bats to the AT&T/ Frost Bank Center?

lol there was a skit I posted on this exact statistic four years ago. I’m glad we kept tradition alive 🤣

    Pop is Alfred.

    Manu is Batman.

Manu just gave all his fortune to Wemby so he carries the torch.

Cannot use often. Other team may bring owl or snakes

The question is whether the risk of rabies infections is worth the wins.
