Russell Westbrook Reacts To The Clippers 125-114 Win Over The Nets. HoopJab NBA

Why I do that if I look like this shirt on you look like this you should keep your shirt on that’s good all right Russa congrats on the win you guys obviously had really big stops really good plays late in this one but you were aggressive since the moment you

Came into this game bark Off the Bench um what did what did that kind of hustle do for this team not just in the fourth but your hustle throughout this game um you know it’s my job I’ve constantly been mentioned to just make sure every night I’m prepared to play uh my energy

Is huge part of my game and what I can bring to this season every nighted when you have slow starts which is going to happen throughout 80 game too 82 Game season um and tonight I try to use my energy um to be able to make an impact

On the game whether it’s offensively defensively whatever it’s needed for our team and Russ you guys went up 11 with 533 left in the fourth they never scored again uh what was the difference for you guys in that fin just the entire fourth quarter as opposed to the first three Ty

Talked about you guys guarding the point of attack before the game started yeah you guys struggle in the first three quarters but in the fourth you guys clamp down yourself everyone else on the fourth yeah I thought we was a early in the game they were coming at us and then

The fourth quar I thought we was the aggressors did a great job of being aggressive offensively and defensively attacking using our sides getting the paint making the right reads and um as you seen it changed the whole momentum of the game in a game like this where uh it

Looked like you guys were a couple steps behind most of the night um you know they started out 160 run you closed out a 220 run been part of a game like that where you trying to find your footing almost there and then all of a sudden it

Just clicks and you close out like that um not in a while but definitely um I’m super gracious and uh blessed to be a to be a part of such a great group and have an opportunity to be able to make make runs it just shows the adversity um the

Resiliency of our team and tonight was one of those well this afternoon was one of those games where um it show especially after a long break and um against a team that’s been playing well so I’m happy um the way our guys came out and not competed Hey Russ um with it being

Nearly the halfway point what do you think James and the group have done before each other bring out the best in each other um you know just trying to figure out how to hold each other accountable um figure out how to bring the best out of each other um different

Nights going to be certain guys get CAU on and um that’s the E part about our team we have so many guys that can uh do so many great things and um you know I think we’ve been trying to figure that out as the season goes along and U we

Still getting better at it hey Russ uh towards the end of the game when you guys kind of went on that big run there was a moment where you Terren everybody’s just kind of on the court having fun and just an explosion between the crowd and the players how much fun

Were you guys guys having towards that end how much fun are you having with the guys um it’s it’s the most important part about sports in my opinion I always tell my son when he go out to he loves soccer so when you play soccer I tell

Him the most important part about going out is having fun you can compete and you can you know Miss A made shots turnovers all that stuff is going to come and go win lose a draw whatever but the joy that this game brings not just myself but it brings people in the arena

The kids that came out and watch the game the The Fan that came and seen this one game the only time we can come to the game uh for me the joy the energy um I think is is so important and our bench was so great the fans was so great to be

Able to to give us and instill that into us and uh it was so much fun to be on the floor um and come out with this win so R right here right here um over the years the Clippers have had a pedigree since L took over the team as whether

People start or don’t start they like playing for each other how does that impact you as a player that being your second year that have such much much fun with a group of guys like this I mean it’s very impactful man I’m I’m I’m super blessed and grateful I don’t take

This opportunity um in this game for granted not one bit um every time I get an opportunity to be able to play to be able to just have an opportunity to be on the floor um I give everything I have um the moment I step on the Flor just

Being here you know under coach allowing me to be a to do that so I’m I’m grateful for that bro start at the Midway point you played every single game I know that’s an important thing for you how much more is that me now especially at this stage of your career

To be out there every single night I mean it’s important you know I think the um ability to be able to take care of my body um one to be able to be disciplined um to be able to prepare myself every day uh to be able to play at a high

Level um which I still can play at on both sides of the ball and um I don’t take it for granted um and I’m very very blessed to be able to um to get up and and compete and do something I love to do and having fun my doing and so I’ll

Continue taking the steps and and making sure that I can take care of my mind and my body as the season goes along not many teams have made you guys look kind of stagnant offensively like like B has in both these games this year cause you guys troubles in general what

Are they doing that um maybe other teams will try to make that down the road like what are they doing that you think you guys still have some some things to figure out to solve um just figuring out where we can make our our Texs I think

The game sometimes you come into the game with the game plan and then it kind of switches based on how they defend they do a good job of switching defense and mucking the game up they got a lot of guys that are similar sides but the

Unique part about our team is that we have the same type of guys on both sides and it allows us to be able to kind of read the game and teams may see this and figure out ways to do so but I thought we did a great job in the fourth quarter

Where it matters of attacking getting stops getting out of transition making quick uh moves um and just quite frankly making shots you know obviously nice like this PM y don’t wouldn’t miss that many shots but I think just allowing ourselves an opportunity to get good shots good looks and making the right

Reads question remember media days you say you’re one of the biggest with athletic guards still playing like not even talking about your career like2 now we’re in 2024 now how do you approach guarding centers because the big key to that comeback was you taking on ni class taking on that match up and

Just eventually he had a sub out yeah how how how did that man um I’ve been emphasizing defensively for me um is huge and this year um guarding one through five no matter what it is position time score possession being helds side rebounding boxing out all the

Small things that need to be done um I’ll do it whatever it takes to to win basketball games and tonight my job was to guard the five um and do a good job of being coverage reading defenses communicating um and you know I did the

Best of my abilities to be able to close the game out so appreciate you guys let’s go eat a haircut me too though lastek let’s get ready for hoop Jab

  1. He’s as important to this team as any player on it. Doesn’t matter when they play as long as they have chemistry. Westbrook is a glue guy

  2. Absolutely.. I said this a team built to counterbalance the stars flaws. Kawhi and PG unavailable… u get 2 of the most durable superstars in nba history in harden n Russ. Russell is turnover prone can shoot the team out of rhythm so u get harden who is a better facilitator for the team ..keeping the others involved like zu and Mann in the starting lineup. who is also turnover prone and can shoot u out of rhythm when he shoots much as well so u take the scoring duties out his hand and leaves that up to PG and Kawhi who don’t have to playmake as much and they can just focus on scoring and defending. But all 4 can do all those roles when called upon. Great bench great coach great chemistry. Winning without Zu is big cuz we aren’t that good of a defensive rebounding team. Way to step it up!

  3. Imagine a bench player having more input than the starters, scoring, hustling and assisting more, put respect to Russ Westbrook name

  4. Watching this game was awesome! Everyone looked dead heads down looked like they just wanted the game to end just throwing up shots and hoping they would fall but russ kept them alive with energy it became contagious once they knew they could actually come back and win Everyone followed and kawhi end it🔥 russ been like this all his career down 20 dude won't give up 💪 it would be awesome if they somehow got forward that brings that same energy off the bench with him plus powell🔥🔥 or someone like Caruso their energy off the bench plus the defense it would be insanely good

  5. How can we hate this man? He gives 110% every game and he manage to find the role as a bench player. Hope they can win chip this year

  6. Russ coming off the bench allows him to give 100% on like he said, both sides of the ball. If LeBron cared more about winning, he'd play less minutes so he could actually play defense and not just stat stuff the end of his career.
