I don't think these show analyzers are noticing something about the NBA trajectory…..It's appeal is on crutches, and NOBODY is seeing the obvious. Let me show you. Just THINK from a deeper perspective. With every great passing generation of talent and appeal, there must be a legitimate up and coming attraction. Example: When Magic and Bird were still playing, the both of them in their own way slowly helped the audience pan toward the excitement that was on the horizon…..Michael Jordan. When 2 greats (that were still playing) unselfishly prepared their exits, in essence by not leaving the sport without another major showtime global phenomenon to watch. They helped keep the audience scurrying to see a guy Bird called "…God in gym shorts.." Jordan!! Then Jordan was on his way out and the audience again panned toward a young 18 year old kid coming from Philadelphia, named Kobe who with great excitement teamed up with Shaq. NOW notice that LeBron and Steph nearing their ends of their runs have not caused any effect toward generating a sustainable excitement about anyone or anything up and coming. At some point if LeBron and Steph are still the faces of the league and there arises no other Jedi on the scene that generates a GLOBAL LEVEL of excitement, then God Bless the late David Stern because as I witnessed this past week, the Womens College Team of South Carolina and LSU Tigers generated higher ratings than watching a NBA game.
