The Raptors lose a HEARTBREAKER at the Buzzer in Atlanta
The Toronto Raptors and Atlanta Hawks are two teams in free-fall, losers of 4 straight. But the Raptors were without RJ Barrett, Jakob Poeltl, and Immanuel Quickley and played the game of the year. A huge breakthrough for a lot of key young players. Good loss Toronto. The Raptors lose 125-126 on a putback dunk. Huge bench games for Jordan Nwora and Gradey Dick, and a continued brilliant progression from Jontay Porter. Scottie Barnes did his best. The KIDS are alright!

I feel like you downplaying cam whitemores production in spite of people talking shit about how Gradey isn’t as good of a pick. Cams been doing pretty well with his development from the start of the szn til now. I’m just wondering if you’d defend Cam the way you are defending dick had we picked Cam instead; especially if they hypothetically had the same production that they’re having right now on their respective teams today.
Entertaining game at least, bench had some scoring finally.
All part of the tank
Bench was the silver lining for sure and Gradey looking a lot more like the player the Raptors clearly believe in.. That pass to Scottie near the end there was great.
doesn't matter what gradey does, hes not the player we need. if they had 2 picks and gotten gradey with another pick cool. but if management can't see that its not simply shooting but it offensive self creation is what we need; im scared for our future. we really really need a guy who's mindset is "fuck it im getting a bucket" that isn't gtj or rj and we need to cycle thru that type of player FAST, draft 3-4 of them and do lil survival of the fittest, idgaf.
u wanna do this fast because scottie is only cheap for this year and next and you need to pair him with that type of player. they seem possible between picks 10-20 jalen williams maxey booker shai all late firsts i think maxey is like 16-20th but yo gradey at pick 13…. when bufkin keyonte hawkings WHITMORE top 5 projected!! u let that slip by???? for a player like gradey. to me its not about gradey vs these guys but it's archetype vs archetype, thats why quickley is such a breath of fresh air.
so at 14:00 i really disagree, we need some egregious self confidence type of shot maker, it keeps the defence honest. whitmore displays this gradey does not, thats not to say gradey doesn't end up good but where they're looking has me really disgruntled and i do have a loss of faith if they can recognize talent and what we need at the same time.
Truthfully I don’t think any player should have the right to complain about calls. I realize it’s frustrating when it’s not going your way but I always felt it was a major negative look for the league as a whole when most of your athletes are more focused on complaining then moving on to the next play. I know it’s the go to thing for most superstars now a days to think they are always being wronged ie embiid, lebron, doncic, and back in the day duncan. But seriously the league should crack down on it it’s like watching a toddler throwing a hissy fit at a grocery store bc they didn’t get a piece of candy at this point. Honestly think there should be be a reviews board for referee complaining and if a player has so many offences it should be a fine or even suspension. And I know emotions run high sometimes during games and sometimes that can add to the excitement of the game to see your player fired up about something but it shouldn’t be a go to after every drive or shot to look at the refs hold your arms out and force a tear out of you tear ducts.
I don’t think “Tanking” is a viable strategy for this team (or for many really). The FO is allergic to it. Also, Darko is a new HC, he doesn’t want to create the culture that would enable a true tank.
I like your phrase of “responsive tanking”. Let the young kids get the majority of the mins and let the chips fall where they may. A 6th overall pick this year versus whatever not great pick we have in next years draft won’t materially change our franchise for the better.
However, cementing a losing culture could have years of a negative impact on our culture.

People need to get off the tank. It's not fun for players to lose… it will slowly kill their spirits. Fans don't have fun watching the team lose, and overall, they will lose interest as a whole. It sets the franchise back. It's a lost year for our players, and it's a year of good basketball the fans lose. The goal shouldn't be 'win the chip", it should be "finish as high as possible", which naturally has winning the chip at the top. Getting to the finals would be FUN. Getting to the 2nd round would be FUN. Less time waiting for for the next season to start after this one ends.
Raptor is a team not a individual. This is no Clint East Wood, Segal story. You need a good team to win.
I though that Dennis played well plus 7.. Closest starter was minus 11 followed by –18,–19, –22. This means the starting lineup was terrible but Dennis was ok. At least 2 of these starters will not be on this team next year. Grady played good because the bench played good I believe the play of Jordan Nwora and the fact they were short handed sparked, the bench players like how a Lion leading a pride would..
IQ, highly spoked about because down right hatred of Dennis so he is blindly analyzed just to get rid of Dennis. RJ was 20 and 9 suppose it was Grady or IQ. Here we have a Home town Player who has the opportunity to be boosted to great height yet the narrative is Scotty trade Dennis. Grady is playing well no matter if he plays bad.
Media has a great responsibility to speak truth and common sense. as a hole Toronto should view other cities and see what they think about themselves.
Imagine a person selling a house for less because the owner thought the asking price was too much, I believe Raptors are sold too short and there is a higher plateau` to reach.
This team doesn't believe in top 5 draft picks yet everyone else does. Very odd
