Cleveland Cavaliers were able to beat the Los Angeles Clippers 118 to 108 in I believe their ninth or eighth or ninth home game in a row that’s a win for them and they are now nine and one in their last 10 games and after a pretty convincing win over the Milwaukee Bucks

Have now won two games in a row and I think this game is just more noteworthy just besides the fact that it’s teron Lou Who you know coached the Cavs to a championship in 2016 returning to Cleveland but you know no tribute video for him um this was more so the debut or

Highly anticipated return rather of Evan Moy posts surgery um when the Cavs hosted the Clippers on Monday January 29th it was exactly six weeks from when Evan Moy went under the knife to have a loose body removed from his knee we don’t know if it was cartilage tissue

Bone whatever it was but Moy must have some type of adaman and skeleton or at least the healing factor of Wolverine or Spider-Man um themselves because the fact that he was able to bounce back so quickly is super encouraging and JB bicker staff shared pregame before tipping off against the

Clippers that moley wasn’t really down about the fact that he had to go have surgery after suffering the injury in practice he just more so viewed it as a challenge to get off the crutches as soon as possible and get back onto the floor as soon as possible and just kind

Of make sure he’s safely returning to the court as quickly as he can but it’s more so just impressive the fact that Moy uh came back much sooner than anticipated it always makes me queasy when big men have any injuries but you know maybe being a professional athlete

And being a multi-millionaire with the access to all the modern features of modern medicine really helps quite a bit but Moy we’ll touch on a little bit because his teammate Isaac aoro stole his thunder in in in the nicest way possible stole his thunder tonight against the Los Angeles Clippers and

This is just another common thing for Isaac aoro and actually head coach JB biger staff had something interesting to say to Yours Truly post game about aoro and Donovan Mitchell had some interesting stuff to say as well so let’s give it a quick listen and hear from them

He’s and I’m obviously biased but I think he’s the best on ball Defender and point of attack defender in this league um I don’t know anybody else who can guard the types of people that Isaac can guard um ay anybody who defeats screens the way that Isaac defeats SC and keeps

People in front of him uh the way that he does uh he’s one of you know a handful of people at most who doesn’t need help in screens uh and that’s either you know on ball or off ball screens uh and that makes your defense so much better because you never really

Have to commit to to the ball uh and you’re always playing um you know equal basketball instead of disadvantaged basketball so I can’t say enough about Isaac um you know we’re fortunate to have him like he executes game plans to te he takes challenges and you mean this

Isn’t new for Isaac um you know we threw Isaac in the fire as a rookie uh and never once did he complain every day he just showed up worked his tail off and took the challenges that were in front of him um and again we’re extremely

Fortunate to have him yeah I think he’s he he takes the challenge every night you know why he’s there you know it’s kind of one of those things um he has like his own coverage is like it’s like you know he does his his own thing and

We let him just because we know he’s going to you know dominate you know his match up every night you know I think and that’s something that doesn’t really it’s not spoken about which I it kind of pisses me off that it’s not spoken about just because he’s a guy that that’s that’s

What he does and he deserves a lot more credit we give we give credit to the two bigs as we should you know they they are phenomenal you know what they do but I think a guy like Isaac aoro we pay attention to and even like tonight he

Goes three for four from three-point line but we pay attention to oh maybe he can’t shoot maybe he can’t knock down a shot but we forget what he’s really good at and Elite at and I think that’s kind of what the mainstream thing is to kind

Of not think about you know what he does really well and you look at what he’s doing on a night toight basis and making it tough on guys uh continuously and it doesn’t matter who it is you know what I mean and being able to understand that

Sometimes not get the shots that you that he ultimately wants and still be able to put effort in defensively still go out there on a night toight basis knowing that his job is going to impact us in a winning way that probably won’t get talked about which is unfortunate

Which is why I’m so heavy on that he deserves a recognition because this is what year four year four in the league and I’ve seen the growth in just a year um that he’s that I’ve been around him you know what I mean so he’s one of the

Tougher guys in the league to to go at you know is not no easy night and he’s showing that on a consistent basis and it definitely needs to be talked about so for context Donovan Mitchell postgame was saying Isaac auro needs to have First Team all defensive honors JB

Bicker staff has more or less said the same thing and lately aoro has been one of the guys who has really stepped up in this world without Darius Garland and at least four 18ish games Evan Mobley and for context here is Isaac ao’s uh hit list recently in four games against

Damen Lillard all without Evan Moy and Isaac aoro he’s held or sorry not Isaac aoro Darius Garland oh my gosh Damen Lillard has been held to 26.5% shooting on 37 attempts from the floor Trey young meanwhile was held to 50% shooting by as Coro on 26 attempts from the floor palab

Banero was held a 25% shooting on about 20 attempts from the floor and that’s in three games young was in three games Lillard is in four games Jaylen Brown he’s played twice he’s held Jaylen Brown to 12.5% of shooting and tonight against the Los Angeles Clippers um you really

Only saw Paul George Who F out of this game and James Harden really get cooking when Isaac Aur wasn’t defending them and that’s mostly just through free throw grifting as they tend to do but overall Isaac cororo held Paul George to 30% shooting on 10 shots meanwhile James

Harden was P by aora all night and was held to 37.5% shooting this is a former MVP and future Hall of Famer uh one day that Isaac aoro is being held by and yeah it’s pretty understandable why auro stole Mo’s thunder in this return who we’ll touch on Evan Moy pretty soon in

This episode but I just want to give Isaac aoro his flowers we’re abandoning the typical postgame format but he is my MVP in this one he finishes the evening with 17 points three assists one rebound one steal and likely his last start for the Cavs barring anything unforeseen for

When Cleveland hosts the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday because ladies and gents Darius Garland is probably going to be back depending on whether or not he’s able to kind of clear the last few benchmarks and then when Garland’s back aoro will likely go back to the bench

But Isaac aoro is really stepped up and stood out and I think just High Praise from his coach obviously you know buys his aside but there is clear tangental data that says ISAC aoro has become one of the best point of attack defenders in the league and has shown on a pretty

Consistent basis um in this 18 game stretch without Moy and Garland and 19 games now without Garland on the floor and has continued to do so on a consistent basis and it’s really exciting to think that a guy that was kind of considered a trade chip is is

Now really balling out and letting his offense kind of translate from his defense and this game against the Clippers was a final a good sendoff for just the Isaac aoro swan song that we’re seeing as even though he seems cool common collected he’s constantly treading water and making life hell for

Segment made his return to the floor and he finished the evening against the Clippers with 10 points nine rebounds three fouls a steal three turnovers um kind of a one not performance but somewhat you know to be expected with even though you have the Wolverine like healing Factor you’re still six months

From or six months oh my gosh six weeks a month and a half rather removed from playing professional you know full contact basketball against not your teammates or your assistant coaches and JB picker staff noted to me postgame that he the fact that he had almost a double double is pretty encouraging the

Fact that he wasn’t like hunting shots he only played in about 20 minutes 51 seconds so 21 minutes to just want to be fair and it looked really comfortable but you saw a lot of burst I think you saw a lot of things from M that looked really encouraging that limited stint

Whether it was the Donovan Mitchell lob pass which was my highlight play of the night from the top of the perimeter to a streaking EV mbly the bucket you saw Moy dunk it with authority and you can think okay he’s clearly comfortable launching on a surgically or an arthroscopically

Explor explored left knee um but for me the other moment is just seeing Moy take the ball off a re down go from end to end of the floor attack the basket and get an easy look against the Clippers who were clearly not paying attention on

Fast Break defense and yeah we will see how Moy grows and adjusts I think it is interesting to note that the Cavs have always kind of had this mentality um during this recent hot streak of theirs without Garland Moy that offensively they’re more than okay and able to

Handle um acclimating those two to the lineup and back to the rotation and actually Donovan Mitchell had an interesting note about adding Moy back and also you know adding Darius Garland back soon after and I want to share with you guys and we’ll kind of explore what my thoughts

Are behind it it’s tough man because the way we’ve been playing it really suits those like those two guys in particular I mean I think um we run the ball we’ve wanted to play with Pace we’re doing that you know obviously you know continuing to find guys cont defensively

We’ve been we’ve taken a step you know what I mean so you add a guy like EV it’s only going to get tougher to score on us you know what I mean so I can’t pinpoint one thing but I think the biggest thing I would say is just getting reintegrated understanding all

Right cool we run this action instead of it being Sam it’s DG all right Co we want DG on this side so they can’t single side tag all right Co we want you in this action I’m going to scream because they won’t switch off of me all right

Cool e I’m going to screen off you cuz they may headed you get to your little roll get to a little two man game maybe we’re setting the screens we did it tonight like they put the fivem men on ever put the five men on ice now Isaac’s

In the half row now you have EV and Jay on the little short RS of me and DJ in the corners like where do you help out from so like I think those will be the different things cuz getting back into that flow um you know I think will be

One of the tougher things but we have guys that you know pick stuff up quickly so it won’t be that won’t be that bad so as Mitchell noted I think the fact that Moy missed a month and a half Garland is going to miss a little bit longer

Probably just a game compared to moy um there there’s going to be some learning curves I think there’s going to be a couple steps back I think the Cavs having a cushion in their schedule against Detroit then Memphis and then San Antonio after that like three pretty

Bad teams and just Memphis you know injuries played a part in that but either way I think this is a good way to bring those guys back slowly and I think it’s interesting because Mitchell had noted like there’s a lot of sets that they run for Darius Garland off the ball

And this is something my co-host Chris Manning stressed quite a bit like running Garland off the ball could be really beneficial for his growth and development just kind of finding his footing with this new offense or at least in Mo’s case JB bigger staff noted

That the Cavs want to at least once the minute restriction gets less and less until it eventually goes away to more or less play the backup five especially now that Tristan Thompson was an idiot and got suspended for 25 games due to performance enhancing drugs and human growth hormone and solving the mystery

Of why he turned back the clock in the first place but Baker staff said the Approach at least for now and don’t want to rush this process at all is they want to do something similar to what they did with Allen where they surround moobile with

Four Shooters on the floor you saw it at times against the Clippers whether it was like a combination of Levert Mitchell Nang stru um and or even Sam Merill who played for about seven minutes against Los Angeles like the Cavs can plug and play options to surround them with shooting um it

Just makes life easier for everyone and also think it’s it can accentuate Moy very well because Moy can continue to shake the rust off and continue to attack the basket and also use his passing acen and playmaking ability as a hub to get guys that are streaking off of off ball screens or

Cuts or actions or things like that as Mitchell had noted and I think there’s a lot of ways to add versatility and depth of this roster in lineup and also um Mitchell Mitchell said he didn’t want to seem like a smartass but he did say that

The Cavs do know better than myself the my locked on Cavs Legion or even the media who also cover this team just because like they know what they have internally they have an understanding of what does and doesn’t work but this is the way they wanted to

Play all season long and I think now that they get to explore that whether it’s with Darius Garland getting a few more opportunities or just or not a few more opportunities but plenty more opportunities but also just like kind of learn how to thrive but like Evan MO is going to be

Interesting and another interesting note is bicker staff shared that into the easing in process of getting Moy like Russ shaking off getting him comfortable back out there on the floor but um more than that like you look at Dean Wade who averaged four three-pointers per game as the starting power forward

For Cleveland while Moy the sidelined and the question was boys did JB um would Mo attempt a comparable amount because from the moment he came from Southern Cal to the Cavs themselves like they’ve been working in fine tuning and constantly coaching and practicing his jump shooting and his perimeter shot and historically speaking

Like Evan Moy is not a shooter I believe off the top of my head he averages less than 30% on 1.3 three-point attempts per game in his very brief NBA career so far and bicker staff said yeah that that’s the plan like we want him to stretch out the

Floor more just you know because it is harder to play two bigs alongside one another but at least that don’t stretch the floor like Allen and Moy do currently but it’ll be an easy end process I think the Cavs will be creative and dynamic and playing lineups

With gar or sorry Moy and Allen together and then also just staggering the two so that the Cavs always have like a consistent defensive threat that can dominate on the interior and down low and also just like really benefit from the fact that like you have shooting at

The fourest spot whether it’s Wade or Nang or stru if you want to get small with it or even Carris Levert and then like Levert you have Isaac aoro or sorry the three you have Isaac aoro who like I said went three or four from three against the Clippers tonight or you have

Max stru or you have even George Nang can play small ball or or bigger ball I guess and then did over for Dean Wade and then there’s just a lot of plug-and-play options that Cavs even Sam Marill too the Cavs can utilize a lot of different dudes in that spot and point

Guard it’s self-explanatory it’s Darius Garland um maybe the thought of Tai Jerome at this point just because I doubt Jerome is going to play for the Cavs at any point this season after being Sidelines since the home opener against the Thunder and then like Mitchell you have stru Mitchell aoro at

The shooting guard spot Sam Merill too like there’s a lot of different plug-and-play options and it’s going to be interesting to see how the Cavs kind of encourage Moy to shoot more um they said given the circumstances and how they play like it’s kind of kind of like

Forced that growth to happen and you like the Cavs are going to figure out does he have it or does he not and they can move forward from there or but we’ll see um it’s hard to really take a full scope in this game against the Clippers

Because he played just a hair under 21 minutes tonight but EV mov was effective in this one I think there is going to be a there is going to be an ugly game or two especially when this team is kind of has a clean build of Health outside of

Um Ty Jerome going forward but for now like Evan moley not a bad return to the floor I think he looked very competent defensively like he always does he always raises the level for Cleveland he did looked pretty comfortable defending um whether it was Mason plumbley or um

Qu Leonard or Paul George or even James Harden at times like Evan mble is that multifaceted unicorn on defense he’s always going to give you that it’s just figuring out where he fits in this new system but it’s pretty clear like whether it’s from Mitchell or it’s from

Bigger staff like the Cavs have a plan in place and it’s all going to work work out in the end I I at least assume they’re one of the hottest teams in basketball so I think it’s easier to figure it out when you’re winning but we’ll talk about more uh looking ahead

Against the bucks with with Dame like he’s these aren’t just like teams that everybody expects us to be these are teams that are Championship caliber teams and he’s doing this against guys who are top 75 players Hall of Famers whatever you want to call them um and I

Think that’s just been why I feel like you know I have to say it cuz I feel like those guys won’t say it about themselves I respect that about them but ultimately they deserve recognition for the work they’ve been doing and and to be frank I think that’s

That is really credit or credit Su like in this game it was Evan Mo’s return to the floor Donovan Mitchell almost ties his career high and assist for the second time in like two three weeks at this point and it was trumped by the fact that um

Isaac aoro stepped up and locked down James Harden and Paul George and took the double responsibility of that and if you look back to the previous game it was Caris lever hitting a rainbow three-pointer that knocked the bucks off off and the Cavs just kind of keep

Finding these unique ways to win where it’s not just the Stars carry them like last year I I really do think it is a case of basketball socialism where the greater Collective and the role players seen the sees the means of winning production and so as these Cavaliers

March forward grinding ahead and ahead raising an iron curtain on the Eastern Conference it’ll be interesting to see what happens um I believe these Sixers in and the Cavs are only not too far apart they’re not too far with New York either I think it’s going to be a very

Tight race between those three squads and it’s going to be a bit of a battle for third place eern conference especially because Cleveland still has a few games with New York they still have three games with Philadelphia on the calendar too um they have a lot of just

Stuff ahead and speaking of looking ahead I will be actually talking to the friend of the program and the man with the nicest voice I’ve ever heard and also even prettier face for radio um that was a compliment um Jordan Christmas will be on the show to talk me

About the Sixers in that third place race but for the time being the clevand Cavaliers uh beat the crud out of Clippers you can say they clip the Clippers in this point if you really want to be creative with it actually that’ll be the title of this episode but

Um yeah this was a really encouraging win they won 119 to 108 the Cavs are 9 And1 in their last 10 they’ve gone six-1 in a very hard stretch of seven games including two contests in Milwaukee and this one against the Clippers and even the Hawks s of the magic as well like

The Cavs keep finding ways to win and it is not hard to be or it is hard to not be bullish on their prospects especially because with this team playing so well and how they’re winning and the fact that they have so many different guys stepping up adding in Darius Garland and

Evan Mobley which is already another 30 to 40 points per game a lot of assists and rebounds is only going to make this team better and if anyone thought or entertained the notion of trading these two you’re not an actual Cavs pay person paying attention you’re just a Browns
