I honestly have no words.

For those that don’t see from the eyetest how bad the spacing Giddey provides for the starters please look into the numbers beyond a random game where the opposing big watches him shoot 3-6 from 3 and say it wasnt his fault he hit shots. He is such an anemic player.

When you then add Dort into the mixt (who must play due to his on ball defence vs the best perimeter player) and his shaky offensive game other than the spot up 3 (even this is falling back to earth) we are left with just a tired Chet and JDub spacing for Shai. This would be sustainable if SGA had potent range out to the deep 3 like a Curry but because he doesnt, teams can just collapse off our weakest shooters and even mismatch their big on Giddey. This then allows them to put their big wing who completly shuts down Chet as he loses his mobility advantage. Gobert and McDaniels literally just laid out the blueprint for this last game and this will be our downfall in the playoffs.

I’m not even expecting us to contend for the title but it sucks knowing we have clear weaknesses that the team likely won’t bother making any moves to address this early in our path back to contention.

I would love to see for a few games a tweak to our starting lineup to move Wiggins into our starting lineup in place of Giddey. He will add the requisite spacing so we only have 1 weak offensive player in Dort (He can at least space in the corner and make teams pay) and Wiggins will also provide additional defence allowing everyone around else on the perimeter to play our aggressive defensive scheme to force turnovers.
