Ant gotta start working out with Trae Young next summer.

Honestly yeah, as much as I hate to see it, he has to sell it more. He could be averaging the most points I. The league if he got the whistle other superstars get. I was at the Thunder home game just a week or two ago, you couldn’t breathe on SGA without fouling. It was absolutely absurd.

  3. Futuristic1NE

The league is indirectly punishing players that can play through contact and reward those who react to contact. It’s all about who can sell a call nowadays.

  4. ISelf_Devine

    It’s sports entertainment now.

They’re literally turning this shit into wrestling.. having to razzle dazzle the only audience that matters, the refs.

    This is completely disgusting.

How much control the refs have over games is one the biggest things I hate about the NBA. It’s a major drawback.

There is obvious bias, as certain players who sell contact get rewarded with 10+ free throws a night on actual marginal contact.

Then players like Kat and Ant, who try to play and finish through contact get 4 or 5 free throws while getting mauled. I just wish it was reffed fairly.

I agree with Jon K’s take, but I would hate seeing Ant go flop-mode!

  7. Hate how the nba encourages flopping it’s just going to get worse

  8. JimmyFly1028

Wasn’t the point of implementing the flopping rule this season designed to address this exact thing? Yet they keep rewarding this and give players like Embiid and SGA a free 10 points every night and calling someone grabbing your whole fucking forearm “incidental contact”?!

  9. SteakMedium4871

Can we get Shawn Michaels to coach Ant how to sell?

  10. Quality-Think1219

They’re sending a message that it isn’t ok to publicly trash the refs. Had he not said anything last night I bet it gets ruled INC

The coverup is always worse than the crime. NBA is going to feel the heat on this one.

Calling it now, Awoooo is getting a SGA arm hold with *Marginal* overlaid

Joe Dumars and Adam Silver don’t ever address anything, just try to keep things quiet so that the sponsorships and TV deals keep going up. There’s no oversight at all. They’re co-conspirators with the NBA officials.

Please somebody take on the incredibly boring job of being a 3rd party reviewer of all 48 minutes of officiating of each NBA game. I think if nothing else, a site like that would get a ton of clicks just by being the only PFF of NBA refs.

I thought Team Ref might have blown it, but clutch play from them in the end!

  15. No-Strawberry7814

It’s like a police station doing an investigation into one of their dirty cops and coming up with nothing.

  16. curveballjesus

Someone said it in another thread, but we really should give Ant a forearm injury designation and list him as Questionable for tomorrow night. Would be a great fuck you to the league.

  17. CarPlaneBoatRocket

Holy shit someone called it correctly and said it would be deemed marginal. Fuck the NBA.

If this wasn’t currently the best season in franchise history, I would honestly probably stop watching the NBA altogether since the integrity of the game is literally gone. Adam Silver is under the impression that fans enjoy watching free throw fests and having teams regularly score 140+ points a night, which has diminished the value of a bucket and now feels like watching ping pong. It’s no coincidence that players are regularly scoring over 60 points, and 4 players are currently averaging over 30 ppg.
