Jalen’s first year has been far from perfect, but we did such a disservice to him in his first 2 years with us

We gave him no vets to learn from, no one showed him the ropes, didn’t instill any sort of winning culture, had awful coaching, and we KNEW he was raw. He came in undersized and a ball of potential.

The reason sengun got better was because he was successful IN SPITE of his situation. He played professionally and won championships. Jalen green has improved his passing, rebounding, defense, and he genuinely wants to get better. Dillon brooks says he has put work where we don’t see it, and it’s paying off. We got a winning culture around him now. Just be patient. We will be okay

If only Udoka was here at the start. But one year barely means anything in NBA if u look at LBJ . Having said that these guys are still fresh and ready to do some real damage under Udoka’s leadership. They need consistency and so far i seen nothin about that from JG…yet. He’ll come around tho i know it. Having your average player age in your team lower than 25 and seriously considering playoffs and i still see some people bitchin about this and that . Now its ok to criticize but jumping at the trade end makes me fuckin cringe. Just be grateful for this team’s potential and enjoy watching some ball

That comes with the territory, the amount of 1st round picks we had stacked combined with the effort to position ourselves for Wemby. We were never going to be serious until those picks ran it’s course.

Third year** my bad i didn’t realize that in the title until just now

  4. I agree. We let down all players we drafted for the past 2 years. Jalen, Sengun, JayGup, Garuba, Jabari, Tari and Tyty. I feel so thankful we have these wonderful youngsters who join our team but at the same, feel so sorry for ruining their development

Our primary goal then wasn’t to win games or to look good as a team, it was just to stay flexible while we tank for high end assets which we did successfully. Those struggling years of having no vet leadership were expected and just the by-product of the overall plan, we can’t have it all. If we were better, we wouldn’t have the same players we have right now. Everyone criticizing us during this period either didn’t understand this or are just too shortsighted.

We had veterans. Eric Gordon, Christian Wood, and John Wall. Stone wanted Wall to come off the bench and let KPJ start at PG. Sengun showed potential in his rookie season and slowly earn his min. Meanwhile some players are handed the starter job even when they played bad.

I find it hilarious how impatient some people are with young players these days.

Go take a look at Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown’s first few years in Boston.

Sometimes people forget how hard it is to be great in this league.
