[95.7 The Game] Steve Kerr on Kevon Looney: “I don’t think Loon has a bigger fan than me… So this has been a hard thing for me to go away from… He’s my guy and doesn’t mean he’s not going to make an impact. I still think he will but you know, things have turned away from him for the time being.”
Looney has an on/off net rating differential of -49.3 in 57 min in the last 5 games. (https://www.nba.com/stats/team/1610612744/onoffcourt-summary?LastNGames=5)
Tough but true. He should be our Haslem. Doesn’t need to play real game minutes regularly to earn a spot. Warrior culture guy.

Idc if he doesn’t play, don’t trade him, he can be Haslem

I guarantee there’s going to be a game or critical moment later this season where he comes in and changes the momentum in a positive way.
It’s Kuminga’s time and to dig ourselves out of this hole we need to start our best 5 man lineup.

Was it last season or this season where he had a last minute game winning put back. It was awesome

We need him in playoffs

Sad to say, this could be someone the Warriors move on from simply to dump salary.

I think he’s worn down and needs rest/more conditioning. He’s not moving well this year

Loon wasn’t here from the start like the core 3, yet he should get the Haslem treatment while Klay gets taken out to the shed lol … this sub

Fwiw I believe only 3m is guaranteed next season so he could probably be extended on vet mins and transition into that Haslem role. Loon is also a guy I could see stepping in a coaching role once his playing days are over. Would be cool to see him continue Decky’s legacy

Our last championship would not have been possible without Loongod and I will always love him for that

What are the chances he could lose some weight and get more in shape? Seems unlikely but just wondering

Finally Steve. It only took you half a season.

I loved reading this comment section. I’ve seen mofos hating on looney lately. I love Looney. He’s been so consistent and technically sound for many important matchups. He’s always overperformed quietly in the playoffs. The recent run, his OREBs were godly, and every single one was needed vs the Grizz and Celtics.
All being said, yes it’s time to become our Haslem. The youth may never reach his consistency but it’s time for him to become a top tier hopefully willing backup and respected role model regardless. ❤️Loon, Always and forever 😍
