Brought out here onto the court tonight getting you to a one game win streak uh we just we all just got to give more um you know we like you said we had an intense film session yesterday um and we we all know we just had to get more into

The team more into each other um less about ourselves and you know more more into the team and give more effort on both ends and um you know I thought we responded well to the meeting yesterday and we we came out with a W well you mentioned playing like a team you guys

Set a heat franchise record with 40 assists tonight 40 assists for this team how important is it for you guys to get everybody involved in that way and how important will that be moving forward for this team yeah that’s when we’re at our best you know the

The ball has magic to it we’re all playing together you know we’re a tough team tough team to guard when we play like that so just got to keep that up well we saw that connection between you and Bam throughout this game we also saw the defensive intensity Step Up you take

A team that averages 118 points per game you hold him to 106 tonight that side of the ball how much of that was the focus going into this game when you talk about yesterday’s film session yeah that that’s that’s who we are that’s our identity you know we want to hang our

Hats on defense you know we’re not always to make shots um and you know we can win games when we don’t make shots you know that’s what it’s all about um we got to continue to do that work work working hard getting better every single day and keep this thing going so you’ve

Won one here what’s most important for this team moving forward headed into this next stretch of games to be able to keep this going into Friday night just keep stacking wins um we just felt what it was like to to lose seven games in a row we didn’t like that feeling at all

I mean I was really just in rym of my guess I was just coming in trying to play hard play my minutes as hard as I can and then see what falls in line from there you know the bench on its own I believe you guys outscored the Kings on

The bench 47 to 18 so between your effort and the rest of the bench tonight what what was the focus on making sure that you guys got that group going to be able to take advantage of the other team second unit yeah we uh I think we have a

Very switchable group I think we have an aggressive second group and uh we got to play to our strengths you know what I’m saying once we get in that zone we’re really making teams work for their shots and then we you know get out and run

Like Caleb haime bam comes back with us and he likes to get out so uh just just playing to our strengths honestly just spoke about it with Tyler on the court but this is a franchise record 40 assists tonight so between Terry Rosier Tyler hero yourself and a number of

Other players putting up assists tonight clearly in setting a franchise record how much of that was a focal point of what you guys were working in yesterday’s film session uh I mean it wasn’t even a huge focal point it was just keep playing the right way was what

A lot of guys were saying and uh I think they did that tonight you know starting back court you know T and and Tyler came out aggressive and and drawing the defense and were getting off it making the right plays and it kind of just trickled down we know defensive

Intensity is a huge part of what you guys do here for you you played really well defensively tonight I know there was that moment late or I guess early in the fourth quarter where you got up for the blocks SPO gets out there all energetic challenging it for you how

Much of of your game is I want to bring that tenacity that level of defensive intensity to the game yeah it’s a big part of it and uh you know my my area that I can grow is just being more consistent with it cuz you know uh once

I get going on defense then you know things kind of start to fall in line for me so uh once I uh you know start start doing that every night and our whole team starts doing that every night then I think we can put some games together

Well you say put some games together obviously got another one coming up on Friday so what does it take to go from all right we had a seven game losing streak to now it’s a one game win streak and compounding upon that yeah I mean you can’t think too much into the future

All we know is we got another game in a few days and we got to prepare for that and play well to prepare to play well and uh hopefully handle business and then we can keep moving from there but we’re not looking too far ahead Josh Richardson 24 points and tonight’s win

The Heat win 115 106 thank you very much for your time yep thank you so what does the exhale fa feel like to I mean it it is okay we the group poured a lot uh in the last 24 hours poured into this process poured into uh each other poured into the

Solutions um and that’s I I commend the group because uh in this day and age and in Pro Sports it is tough to do that um they just you know the noise gets louder and uh everybody just distracted and we just kind of circled the wagons and just got in the in the

Locker room and and just started to work through solutions for one day uh but it sure feels a lot better than than where we were I think we’re probably the only team that had a seven game winning streak and a seven game losing streak and uh what it does more than anything

And what I told the guys in the locker room is uh it just definitely teaches you not to take things for granted in this league uh it is hard to win uh and probably in particular in this this season uh you know there’s so much parody but there there’s so many things

That you have to pour into uh the game into the prep into each other and uh um it doesn’t guarantee anything um but you have to do a lot of things just to get your game playing the right way where everybody is uh is connected uh

And you know for one day that uh it feels great I’m okay with with everybody just having a little bit of an excal and then we’ll get on that plane uh and get ready to you know start this process again when we get to DC your defensive

Identity is about more than scheme as you’ve been saying but yesterday bam noted that the Zone has kind of been forcing guys to do the things that maybe haven’t been happening other otherwise in the defense you leaned into it again tonight did you think it kind of got

Better Effort out of the defense yeah you know what you know yesterday we didn’t even talk about what the scheme was it was about doing the tough things the physical things having a presence on that side of the floor having the resolve uh you know to just continue to

Make multiple efforts uh and and have the the opponent feel us um and you know I think you could say that they they felt us tonight you know regardless of whether it was man or Zone um and that’s just the way it has to has to be

You know for us uh you put on that uniform the Miami Heat uniform that’s what what the expectation is it does not guarantee that you’re going to get the win but that’s the identity and we have to live up to that day in day out uh and

We’re able to do that tonight yes we were in the zone you know for extended periods of time I I don’t care I really don’t care what the the scheme is whether it’s man or Z I just want to see that spirit that toughness the multiple efforts we’ll figure out you know game

To game what what those schemes may be but that that has to be who we are Eric how pleasing is it to see a high impact game from your back court you’re starting guards even without a high point total 10 assists for Terry one turnover I I did mention that uh in in

The locker room the offense really was it it started with our our back court making winning plays the right plays uh and uh I had not seen that I guess the NBA took two away two assists away from us by the time I walked into the locker

Room I had never seen that before 40 assists on 42 made field goals and that’s the definition of pouring into each other and and helping each other generate the right shots for the team there was no clutter it can’t be any clutter when you’re on seven game uh

Losing streak it’s just about giving in to the team uh and Tyler and and Terry you know set the tone with that they were assertive aggressive and then making the right play and the right play was uh getting off the ball I think we probably had more assists or lob passes

And dishes to Bam in one game than we’ve had probably in the last three weeks um so they set the tone and then obviously uh that guy Jimmy he was pretty good tonight you know when he attacks like that yeah where’re uh that that solves a lot of the things

Uh for us offensively two questions the the first one where does that challenge rank for you in terms of history of your challenges the way the crowd erupted and everything I don’t know yeah I definitely wasn’t expecting that um I don’t know I I definitely have not ranked the the

Challenges um it just happened to be one where I was able to see it and I I saw it anyway in live I mean sometimes I’m I’m I’m not totally sure I’m looking behind I I barely needed to look behind and then everybody was looking up it just the timing all worked

Out but what a buzz kill you know we weren’t able to also secure the ball you know that would have been a pretty cool moment and the second part just the the early offense with Jimmy and and Kevin just that two-man game with the the lobs

Over the top and then driving kicks just how much did that kind of dictate the rest of the offense for rest of the game yeah you have uh two highlevel all stars that have an intuitive feel for each other uh it’s they love you know passing and seeing the angles to Jimmy it’s

Jimmy also you know having the ability to get in the paint and know where uh Kevin is out in the three-point line uh that was the connection that we had before Kevin got hurt you know it’s taken us a little bit of time to to get

Uh back uh to that um you know it’s really nice to to see that collaboration um because they they they can speak a different language and that’s what super high level high IQ High very talented players uh they they can do that um and a lot of that’s not scripted you know

Some of it is screening but uh some of it’s not even scripted and you know K uh KB is just the ultimate teammate he really just wants guys to play well and and he’s really trying to help everybody look good and you need a lot of guys

Like that on on your team when you’re trying to do something good thanks coach all right thank you snpp in a seven game losing streak what did you see from your team that you like the most about the effort tonight um effort was there yeah but we we we

Were smiling we were legit having fun again which is what I said had to happen if we wanted to win anyway so I’m glad that we made shots I’m glad that we guarded I’m glad that we won but um I’m glad we were smiling how does that

Switch flip for you guys to go from you know struggling over those seven games to you know getting out there smiling having fun like that just remembering that we’re very fortunate to be able to have the job that we have that we get to hoop you know that we get to play in

Front of so many great fans um I think we we we lost control of that for a little bit like the sight of of this isn’t that difficult so we should be smiling we should be happy um it could be a lot worse and um you know got back

Playing good basketball you saw the signs of ultimate team play on two ends the 308 assists on one end the zone defense everyone locked in and playing together on the other what was it like on both ends to see such high quality team basketball that’s the way that we want

To play that’s the way that we are going to win games um and that’s the way that we’ve won games ever since that I’ve been here we want to continually do that I think the go the Zone has been great for us um I’m not particularly best in a Zone but whatever

The squad needs me to do I promise you to the best of my ability I would do that so you know I think I need more work in the zone than anybody obviously you were saying that again on Tuesday that you needed to get into

Rhythm as you were in a slow of your own obviously I think you started 0 for three but then you kind of got into that rhythm in that second quarter what did you think about just kind of getting back into Rhythm uh it’s Rhythm you know you don’t know

Until it happens uh you know it started off slow but then as the time went on got warm got into the game and uh my teammates found me found me the basketball how much of that was Terry and Tyler just kind of helping you click in the pick and rle yeah definitely uh

Watching film uh just talking to him and obviously Terry adapting to you know our our style of play and then you know T was making plays tonight it felt like he was it was all over the court I don’t even know what stats but what they had

20 assists between the two or some close to it you guys jumped out early uh took a 18-point Le then they went on the Run what did you kind of see from the response from that point once they went up and Y to take control man he just

Needed to bounce back um that’s when you get in that huddle and you know everybody’s really locked in and understanding that we have to get defensive stops when I was preaching the whole game you know let our defense be our offense did you think you were going

To get that the high lob from Tyler did you think you were going to catch that 100% uh you know me and Tyler have but had this connection for going on what five years at this point uh so you know he kind of we kind of set it up in

That in that style there wasn’t a second where you were like that one might be too high how how big was this guy I’m sorry how big was this guy tonight just just with the the get the offense in the FL yeah man you want to tell him you was late to shoot

Around I was late for shoo around so I guess that you know he got a couple minutes extra sleep it definitely uh definitely gave us day energy that uh to get this w
