If Trae Young doesn’t make it as an injury reserve, he’ll be the second player in NBA history to average 25 ppg, 10 apg, and 55% ts to NOT make the all star game. The first player to do that? 2022-23 Trae Young.

Is trae young the most disrespected player in the league? I’ve never seen anything like it . This dude easily could’ve been a 5 time all-star because he’s played at that level but instead hes only made it twice. He broke multiple records this season with an insane stretch in december but somehow “Damian Lillard” makes it? What are yall thoughts on this?

  1. the center depth with the embiid news is gonna be non existent

  2. DanCampbellsNipples

So he’s the first player to do it. He just did it twice

  3. bbbryce987

I wouldn’t use raw TS% as a measure comparing across years due to how much the league average efficiency has increased. Trae deserves it none the less though

  4. deserves it but only Lakers get 10th seed all-stars

  5. orphan_tears_

There’s just more all-star caliber players than all-star roster spots now. They need to expand the roster to 15.

  6. shanmustafa

Trae had no chance of making

he didn’t make it last year with better numbers, and while a mediocre team, still a better team than what they have rn

the craziest part is the players don’t really stick up for him, the players ranked him the 12th best guard last year just in the east

  7. JurgenFlippers

I don’t even like Trae Young and how he is discussed is insane

  8. lonny__breaux

Rough for him. He didn’t make the World Cup team either. He’ll make it as a replacement though. He has too

  9. on the other hand a lot of players are qualified and most of their teams aren’t ass

  10. DorkandPoon

Fuck the starter rule changes. Is the All Star game for the fans or is the game for Adam Lefkoe and Mark Jones? If the fans want Trae who gives a shit what the media and the players think?

  11. Confident_Berry7271

Trae is in a weird spot where he’s a star who has more people who hate him than love like him or are in the hawks fanbase.

  12. hollow-ataraxia

    Dame starting tho

What happened to my beautiful league 💔

  13. John Stockton got snubbed from ’88 All-Star game when he was averaging 15/3/14 with 3 steals a game lol.

All-Star voting is what it is.

    A popularity contest.

  14. WrongTetrisBlock

Dude is the most disrespected player in the league

  15. I’d be pissed. Trae needs more respect. Just cus his team isn’t good doesn’t mean he shouldn’t make it. He’s had 20 and 10 somewhat all season, which is passing some people.

  16. Groots-Cousin

I get not putting him in because of the team’s record. However, it’s frustrating when that same logic is not applied to teams like the Lakers.

  17. bnasdfjlkwe

i mean the league has inflated stats right now so you can’t really compare to the past

  18. Over the last 4 season hie has averaged 27 points, 10 assists on 59% true shooting and has one all star appearance for his work

  19. TemporaryValue5755

The all-star game has had 12 roster spots per team since 1951. There were 11 teams in the league. We have 30 teams now and still 12 roster spots. The league has more than doubled in size and the all star roster has stayed the same.

That and there is so much talent in the league right now partially because older players are great longer. LeBron, kd and curry are still taking spots in the west away from younger players. (I’m not suggesting they should or shouldn’t have a spot just that they are good enough to be considered in their late 30s.)

This is why you are seeing this more these days. This year sabonis and trae.

  20. SurnameFrost

Honestly, when stuff like this happens it’s on the organization. The Resslers have failed to build an actual team around him nor have they promoted his accomplishments.

  21. NerdSlamPo

Dang. Trae Young 2 is going to be pissed at Trae Young 1 for doing it first

  22. Punjabiveer30

Someone tell voters T. Young on the ballot is Trae Young not Thad Young

  23. balemeout

The disconnect between how Luka is treated and Trae is treated is inane. Luka is obviously better but Trae is alarmingly similar, both carried teams to the same round of the playoffs with bad rosters, both turnstiles on defense, both one man offenses

*unpopular guy struggles in popularity contest*

  25. drpepper7557

I mean how many guys 20 years ago missed it with 20/7 on 50% ts%? Of course nobody did it in the past, because 25/10 never used to happen – you have to adjust for era.

25/10 happened 5 times from Oscar Robinson, 2x total by anyone from 1967-2016, and then 6 times since then.

  26. RiggityRyGuy

Coaches don’t value his game more than the other around him, simple as that.

  27. There’s enough evidence that the players around the league don’t really like him, or at least they think he’s not as good as the fans do. I don’t know why that is, other than maybe they hate his style?

  28. International-Yak213

He’s not the most disrespected. His team has a losing record in a league full of players putting up elite numbers. The rules/refs/ play style allow so much more offense now so we’re seeing players with never before seen numbers missing all star teams. Bradley Beal missed the all star game a few years ago while averaging 30. Before this the biggest all star snub to me was Melo in 2006 when he was averaging 26 on a playoff team. But this is the new norm.
