The Detroit Pistons rejected the Atlanta Hawks trade for Dejounte Murray

The Detroit Pistons rejected the Atlanta Hawks trade for Dejounte Murray

We talked about the Jon Murray a couple of weeks ago right and the Hawks and the Pistons had conversations about a trade so the Hawks wanted the Pistons to trade Jaden Ivy and SAR Thompson for Deon Murray right and we we’ve kind of heard that you know the Hawks want two first

Round picks are you know good young players for Deonte Murray and I think the Pistons were very wise to reject this trade because I like that jonay Murray is a player but I I’m not really convinced that if you were to make a trade involving Jade Ivy and Asar Thompson for

De Jon Murray uh it really moves the needle too much um I think at the end of the day when you’re talking about the Atlanta Hawks they just what Luca scored like 73 points on him not a good look defensively and Deon Murray is you know

He was coming out of college he was just kind of like this project player that did develop in San Antonio but I’m glad the Pistons did reject this I I I think you know trying to involve a jade Navy and assar Thompson for him glad the Pistons said no I think eventually he’s

Going to end up uh with the Los Angeles Lakers because of who his Asian is he’s represented by clutch Sports you guys already know who runs that rich Paul who’s in La LeBron James you guys can kind of connect the dots I I think Murray’s probably gonna end up in

La I know a lot of Pistons fans really on board with possibly trading for Deon Murray but I’m kind of glad they they took their names out of that sweep sticks because trading not only Jade Ivy and assar Thompson I think that’s just kind of an overpay in the Hawks for

Trying to fleece of pistons in my personal opinion when I when I read this report from James’s article I was like hell no I’m not trading you know to I’m not trading Jade Ivy Asar Thompson for Deon Murray it’s just I I just I because I know if you guys go back the

Hawks initially tried to trade up perar they were willing to give us you know their 15th overall pick and DeAndre Hunter and the Pistons said no um they obviously like assar they like Jaden Ivy but I I think that’s too much for Deon Muran I know he’s under contract and

He’d be an intriguing guard to pair next to Kate Cunningham but I think what you have in Ivy who’s to say he possibly can’t turn into a similar type of guard as a Deon M Murray maybe not even better um I I I think you know Deon is a hell

Of a player but we really don’t know what Ivy’s going to turn into we’ve seen two years of Jade iy and today he looked phenomenal he looked like that fifth overall pick that everyone was saying he was the you know best available player at five during his draft class Jade iy

Looked phenomenal I’d much rather Bank on Jade iy’s long-term trajectory than trade him an assar to the Hawks for dejon Murray but I do want to go to the comments uh what you guys are saying about this trade proposal that the Atlanta Hawks did offer the Detroit

Pistons so let’s get to it and you guys probably have a bunch of takes about this trade 100% uh Urban alien 247 I don’t like that trade at all Ivan assar yeah it’s a terrible trade in my opinion I think the Hawks are just trying to get maximum

Value for their guy and I I don’t blame them but to me that would be like a fleece for the Hawks if they were able to get off Murray’s contract and get two young guys under contract you know to help tradeing excuse me uh we got game

NS de jante and Zack LaVine trades would be a Band-Aid solution to this problem I do like Zack and Cade back court but getting rid of Ivy who could potentially become either of them in this is not ideal in my opinion yeah like J iy could possibly turn into a Zack LaVine type

Player they have very similar archetypes not saying that Jade iy is gonna be the type of player you know Zack LaVine is but they’re both athletic two guards they can fill up the stat sheet um J iy’s in year two Zack lavine’s been in the league for quite a while like Zack

LaVine wasn’t really doing the type of stuff Jade NY was doing in Minnesota year two like I’ve been following Zack Zack LaVine for quite a long time like all the way back to his UC UCL days like Zack Line’s a hell of an athlete but um

I think you you should just hold on to see what Jade Navy could possibly beat um like the Atlanta trade like assar and Ivy no I’m not doing that for deante s b B what up man uh do you feel like we need to trade boan and Burks before they

Get hurt do you feel like Troy deceiver needs to stop playing um we’re gonna get into this later in the podcast because both of these guys are quotee unquote on the trade market for the Pistons their their vets that teams are calling about um but I will we’re going to get to that

Later in the podcast of M B but appreciate you do dropping a comment uh I don’t think Ivy Nar stand a chance under this crappy coach I can understand understand this comment I really can because there’s been so much discourse with him not liking Jaden Ivy and like you know playing Killian

Hayes over him at times like I can understand this comment 100% but I think things will get better I really do I I think when this team adds some more quality NBA players at the end of the day you’re gonna have more than six wins I I I really believe that um some

Of these players on the Pistons I don’t even think they’re rotational players on other teams and that’s kind of sad to see but like I said I don’t I don’t think Monty’s a bad coach is just I just don’t think he was the right coach for this team um that

That that’s just my opinion I can’t believe people was talking about trade Ivy no way yeah t they they they were they were uh like I said my old co-host he wanted to trade Jaden ivy on this podcast Lance wanted to trade him um and I wasn’t I didn’t want to trade Ivy

Because when I look at him he’s just a a guy that I think isn’t finished developing and that’s scary to think about uh he just had a phenomenal game against one of the best teams in the Western Conference went toe-to-toe with SGA tonight and he’s not finished developing

Like he needs to get better defensively I think we can all agree there I think defensively he needs a lot of work but offensively the way he pushes the ball the way he can find Duren um effort his three-point shot his coming along there’s a lot to like about Jaden Ivy um

If the Pistons supp the Trey Jade Navy I can guarantee you it would come in the same breath is like a den witty or a Middleton you would just you know bring up Ivy if the Pistons were to move on from him because I think Ivy is going to

Be a hell of a player I really do i’ take Trey young yeah same here man I I really would Weaver should make Monty play Ivy no matter what otherwise fire Monty I think that’s why they had that organizational meeting Maurice because you know that whole organization is very

High on Jaden iy uh from AR tellum the Troy Weaver um they like J Ivy a lot and they want to see him flourish um and I think they they do need to play Jade iy more in my opinion um he played 35 minutes a night I think he should regardless play

30 minutes a night um he’s just that type of guard that needs those reps and I think we can all agree this is just a a season where we’re not going to make the playoffs we’re not going to make the plan so why not play your best young

Players that you drafted um to me I I would give Ivy a good bulk of the minutes whether it’s a point guard or shooting [Applause] [Applause] Guard

  1. I think Zach is better than Murray and I wouldn’t even give up more than bogi and killian for Zach like teams need to get real about value around here despite winning our young players have and are showing lots of promise no chance any of the core 4 get traded this season

  2. I wouldn’t trade that much but I would take Murray over Zach any day. Zach is making 40 mil a year to take bad shots with no other dimensions to his game. Dejounte is on 4 years 120 mil and can score, defend, and has playmaking abilities. He will also be the primary ball handler that will help Cade with that turnover problem and he can play more off ball. Zach is 🗑️ and Chicago don’t want him not to mention he is injury prone… hard pass

  3. Hawks trying to recoup some of what they gave up to get Murray. Maybe they have been monitoring the situation w/ Monty & Ivey. Figured WTH, we can ask, if they say No, nothing lost. No to Zach, doesn't improve the team enough

  4. The Hawks paid a high price for him 4 first round draft picks they at least got to get 50 Cent on the dollar

  5. I guess the Pistons didn’t want to put Thompson in that trade package. He’s the only one worth value right now.
