I was oozing over Toumani (as one does on a Friday) and stumbled upon his Tankathon pre draft profile.

7 foot wingspan, 36% from 3(??) in college. *If* we can get the shooting out of him we’ve found our OG Anunoby.

I know the losses are mentally tasking. But with Scoot, Shaedon Jabari, Toumani, Rupert and even Ayton as of late our future is *very* bright if they can continue to gel and grow.

Thats all.

A slightly taller Draymond Green is a more realistic outcome than OG.

I don’t want Toumani to be OG, or any other player. I want him to be Toumani

I think it was Kawhi that said something along the lines a of just play D. The offense will come – I think Camara is doin just that and I’m very ok with it

On the real, TC has to work on that damn jumper… and finishing lowkey.

But, defense is there. I like him to be the starting 3 we need.

Believe it or not, usually FT% has a stronger correlation to NBA 3P% than college 3P%. [Source](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/fzmlka/looking_at_the_correlation_between_college_ft_and/)

Tou shot 66.9% from the line in his Junior year, so while it’s not out of the realm of possibility that he develops a good 3p shot, historically, that number tends to not correlate to a good NBA 3pt shot. If he can do it, he has a very, very strong chance of being a solid NBA contributor for many years.

  6. Honest question, what has Rupert shown to belong with those other names? I get he’s a project but it feels wrong putting him with our core guys.

Toumani’s great, but I don’t want to settle on him unless we see some consistent offense. Right now, Thybulle is the superior option just by virtue of his ability to make a three.

As for our overall talent, it’s very promising!

I’m a bit worried about getting Sharpe healthy and back to his early season form. But he’s the surest blue chipper the Blazers have right now.

Simons has proven this season that he’s better than C.J. ever was as a shooter, a driver and a ball-handler. That said, I don’t consider him a blue chipper because of how consistently bad on defense he’s been over 5.5 seasons. He could be the the co-leading scorer and be very successful on the right team, but I don’t think that’s the Blazers, if Scoot and Sharpe are poppin’.

Scoot’s had issues, but he’s shown growth, and that he’s got that dog in him. Imagine having a point guard built mentally and physically like Anthony Edwards, whose three-point shooting has steadily crept up from 32% as a rookie to nearly 39% so far this season. That’s what I hope for with Scoot.

Jabari has proven himself a solid role player on the level of Taj Gibson, and I think he has a lot of room for growth. He might replace Jerami in the short-term at power forward, but I think Jabari eventually gets replaced by a high draft pick or someone Portland trades for. If that’s the case, I wouldn’t begrudge him going elsewhere.
