How Jalen Brunson Is Making Rich Eisen a Knicks Fan Again | The Rich Eisen Show

How Jalen Brunson Is Making Rich Eisen a Knicks Fan Again | The Rich Eisen Show

I’ve had um my uh my fun and sometimes played up for a little bit of extra fun but deep down um throughout the years of this program almost 10 years long um it has been a frustrating angering experience being a Nick fan because of their owner James

Dolan whose sphere I can’t wait to go to on Wednesday next week it’ll be fun rich I look forward to it where uh I don’t know yet so um but I I bring it up because it’s just an an angering frustrating experience watching a team flounder one of my one

Of my teams growing up everyone who who might be a fan of this show knows I’m a I’m a Jet fan a Yankee fan Michigan obviously um but the Knicks were go going to Madison Square Garden on Christmas days or um any other big events in Madison Square Garden is just

A a a a a warm fuzzy feeling of of my childhood and growing up and loving Bernard King and even going backto back 50-point games on a Texas Swing once and making cover a cover of Sports Illustrated and then the Knicks getting Patrick Ying but only having Bernard and

Ying together for about a cup of coffee and then of course Ying having the unfortunate experience of playing in the Michael Jordan era Collegiate and professional and then the the spr well Grandma Larry Johnson Pat Riley era I mean it goes on and on and on and on but

I I I’ve lived and I’ve died with it and then when Charles Oakley got dragged out of Madison Square Garden and and and Dolan didn’t lift a finger it just destroyed me and I’m like you know what I I just can’t I can’t buy in I can’t

Buy in and um and I would say that over and over here from here and I I don’t care if this is going to be a push back from anybody saying well I’m a fairweather fan because the Knicks haven’t won anything yet but there’s one individual who has pulled me back in

Just when I thought it was out forever pulled me back in and his name is Jaylen Brunson I cannot get enough of him he’s one of my favorite Knicks of all time he’s one of my favorite New York athletes of all time and I know he’s not you know a New York you

Know athlete by uh birth right but him being signed by the Knicks as a free agent out of Dallas I didn’t I I this is beyond my wildest dreams I think it’s beyond any Nicks fans wildest dreams you know now Brunson does have some history with the Nicks obviously

With his dad and who’s been around the team as a kid but I don’t think anybody looks at him and goes well you know what he’s a big East guy went to Villanova but here he is one of the great New York athletes ever what he’s pulling off what he’s making of himself

What he is doing and much was made last week when he was not announced as a an Allstar star that went to Damen Lillard and you know Lillard shows up in the Eastern Conference takes a spot and it’s it’s welld deserved for career but if you’re talking about what you’re doing this

Year and then you find out that part of the equation that went into Lillard being a starter you know boiled down to him getting more f fan votes and that kind of lit up New York in a way and folks lighting up New York from outside saying

The fans let him down and that’s not fair you know but I get it yesterday though he was announced as an All-Star Reserve first time as an All-Star and he goes out and he drops 40 on the Pacers in Madison Square guard 40 and the Knicks just coming off of a 14-

Win January are now they’re now shooting up like a like a rocket in the Eastern Conference right now you just make sure I’m getting this correct I saw it before I want to make sure I’m getting it accurately uh the New York Knicks are a half game behind the

Milwaukee Bucks right now 32 and 17 and they’re like a game against the Pacers in the past have been like okay you know nice month Pacers good team they could come in and start beating up the Knicks and and this video of uh lefr City’s own Kenny

Smith saying how the Knicks back in the day or recent days I don’t know where this video is from but the Knicks when they take the court the problem why the Knicks will always be in the middle of the conference is because when they take the court in their

Conference they’ll always have the second best player on the court that’s changed or at least I feel it has I love watching him play he just lights that place up man and what he’s made of himself what he’s made of himself beyond my wildest dream dreams

Of him signing with this team and doing what he’s doing right now so after he dropped 40 on the Pacers to keep the hot January cascading into February and the rest of the team’s lighting it up too without Julius Randall now what hartenstein had a 17 rebound game right that’s without

Mitchell Robinson so they’re without Robinson and they’re without Randall right now and they’re playing better because they’ve got that heartbeat right in the middle dropping uh dropping 40 catch the rich eyes and show every single day on the Roku Channel 12 to 3 Eastern for free

  1. If you weren't there during the 07 November game against the celtics when the final score was 104 to 59 then I'm not trying to hear from you.

  2. Once a Knick fan always a Knick fan, it feels so good to finally have a legit PG and surrounding cast. They also have a ton of capital and did it the right way. But the biggest thing for me is the defense, LFGK!

  3. As a life long Knick fan, I'm ok if bandwagon fans want to join, I believe in forgive. BUT I don't forget, and if you come back into the fold, don't dare jump ship when the tough times come again. LETS GO KNICKS

  4. So they have to win for you to be a fan? I remember you also saying the Knicks overpaid for Brunson… stop all the lies!

  5. You may not care by but what you described, you’re literally the definition of a fair weather fan.

  6. The real Knick fans stayed the course… We dont hop off and on when the team wins… Dont come back now 🤷🏾‍♂️

  7. Sorry rich, but we don't need "now I want to jump on the bandwagon as a knicks fan, again" type people. If the knicks start losing you'll be one of those people with a platform who would start talking bad again about the knicks. SORRY BUT YOU GET NO PASS.

  8. Yea it has been VERY Frustrating being a Knicks fan over the years but Real Knicks don’t say I’m not a Knicks fan anymore and start rooting for another team. I couldn’t start Rooting for another team even if I wanted too Bc I love my team so much. Just stay Rooting for whatever team you turned ur back on the Knicks for. The New York Knicks don’t have any time for fans like that!

  9. Are you sure you're back in, Rich? You say at the end that they were without Randle and Robinson, but how do you not mention that they were without OG? That was odd. Hartenstein had 19 boards.

  10. Ahhh I wish you would’ve had that clip of him reacting to becoming aware that he was an all star after that Pacer game. Brought a tear to my eye. NY got them one.

  11. Tom Thibodeau needs to talk to the referees about the way opposing players have been physically going after Brunson before he ends up on the disabled list. Brunson has been taking a major beating and getting knocked down on a regular basis. Someone needs to address this before the Knicks lose their star player to an injury. It's okay to play physical, but I think players are taking it too far, especially in Brunson's case 🏀
