Why shoot a deep 3 when all you need is 2 and you have wemby rolling to the rim. Vaseline needs a reality check if these insights are true.

I think if you been watching the dynamic all season that seems to capture the vibe pretty. It is problematic and one of the reasons why I think a vet would have helped this year. I think he can learn that playing through vic helps him. But the resistence to the obvious has only hurt him. The play was right their to be made and like he’s done many times over the course of the season he just doesn’t do it.
You think when Duncan came in vets in their thought duncan was better than them? if they did the fuck admiral set them straight. I think it’s natural at that level to think your the dog. But Duncan, D robs, and wemby are different. I feel like old school Pop would have corrected this a bit sooner, but he’s gotten a bit soft and I think he’s hoping they would have naturally fallen in line but they haven’t.
On why he took the shot. He was at mid court and you can tell from his mechanics it was out of his range and he wasnt that open as their was a dude still in a position to contest the shot. The right play would have been to reconize what was happening on the floor and to Lob it to wemby. Bare mimum he proably get fouled and has a better look than what he had.

Idk if Vassell is trying to force the thought here that he shouldn’t be expendable in an attempt to improve the roster around Vic and is hence trying too hard to win these games himself. The 2 will be become our 1-2 punch for years but he needs to come to terms with him not being the best player of this team. He can most certainly be a leader but it has to change. As is, this ain’t the Spurs way we are used to

Devin felt he had a good shot so he went for it. Was it the wrong decision? Maybe. But at least we have a guy confident enough to take these shots.
They’ll look at it in film session and work these things out. No biggie

It’s not that big a deal. I mean think about the narrative, we’ve gotten what like five twitter clips and people think that’s enough to say Wemby has terrible, selfish, and jealous teammates
Could he have a better playmaking team ofc. Lots of superstars stilll have instances where they only shoot one attempt in the fourth
That doesn’t mean the teammates are seflish

I am just hoping it doesn’t devolve into any type of interpersonal squabble.

As much as I hated the decision of the moment, it was pretty clear that the play blew up. Devin got the ball, he made a read, if such and such pass to Vic, if not take an open 3, or something. It was clear they were both open. He made a read and took the shot.
IMO Spurs basketball is pass up a good shot for a better one. I would have liked to see the lob, it is what it is. I wish more people on this team had vision but Devin WAS lights out from 3 today.

Devin already talked about the play was to get Wemby going to the rim. The play was blown up (by a foul on Tre Jones). He felt he had to take the shot. He not saying he would not pass the ball to Wemby. He was saying in that exact situation (a broken play).
