[Smith] With less than a week until the NBA trade deadline, this odd hybrid of veterans and rookies isn’t really working and it’s certain the Ujiri and Webster are mulling more roster moves.

>“I wish I had an explanation for it,” coach Darko Rajakovic said. “(Thursday) probably was our best practice of the season and, based on that, I really hoped that today we would go out there and really, really compete and play hard.“I don’t know the reason but we were flat to start the game and it just carried on. We had moments that we turned it on but we were not able to sustain it.”
>Neither Gradey Dick nor Jordan Nwora played even 24 minutes and Ujiri and Webster might want to free up playing time for them in coming transactions.

Obviously I have no inside information, but I can’t imagine the motivation is there with so much movement lately and the fact that nobody aside from maybe Scottie, IQ and RJ know where they’re going to be in the next week or two.

Bruce Brown to the Sixers for a conditional first round pick(Turns into a second if Philly makes the ECF)

It will be very interesting to see what we do with GTJ. As far as I remember he’s never really been mentioned by Masai whenever he’s spoken about the players. Does he wind up being another piece we just let walk? I know we probably don’t get much in return for him but something is surely better than nothing if we don’t intend on re-signing him.

Trade talks have to be affecting their psyche, guys just looked disengaged and did not want to compete. It doesn’t matter if we are tanking or not. Compete on every play, simple.
Boucher not coming in at all yesterday was a mystery. We needed paint defense, someone to deter easy layups, why not put a shot blocking energy guy in??? Like, is he already gone? What is the logic there?

This game was tough to watch.
And Dougie posting absolutely a nothing article again. It is amazing how long he has been employed at the star. Good for him

I still don’t get why they don’t play Otto. Like dude he can shoot the 3 and he can rebound. Whats the issue? Like are we really going to be intellectually dishonest and say we’re giving Otto’s minutes to “younger players” when the person taking Otto’s minutes is jalen mcdaniels? Give me a break lol
Also boucher didnt even play last night and the dude just seems out of it when he plays. No intensity, very emotionless gesturing on his face at all times.

GTJ gets maybe a 2nd or two now
Boucher hasn’t even played. Possibly a 2nd but he has another year on the contract
OPJ, Thad and McD are throw in contracts. Can’t believe Thad is the most valuable one of these players now
Yak doubtful they trade him, eventhough he doesn’t fit timeline
Dennis – fun player, fair contract but lots of limitations. Doubtful he geta a 1st
Brown might get you a 1st but likely 3 2nds or so
We aren’t getting anything great even if they sell everyone

I mean ….duh….who expected this roster to be the one going beyond the deadline?

Still have a week to make moves. That’s still a lot of time to build a deal. Plus the closer we get to the TDL, the more desperate some teams might get

The problem is, all the assets we have left are relatively low value, except maybe Brown. That’s kinda the issue, none of these guys are returning anything useful unless we take on some bad salary with picks attached to them. And even then, we get more middling picks like we did from the Siakam trade.
Nothing we have is moving the needle, which is why it’s so incredibly important we get our pick as low as possible the next 2+ years.

I cannot wait for the deadline. 12/15 players are on the trade block so obviously there’s gonna be no chemistry and low motivation.
I’d love for Masai to get back 1 solid rotational player that fits the young core and isn’t some random vet or expiring contract.

Why don’t we just get Ninja to tell Masai that he isn’t seeing enough movement
