Trading DLo for Murray is just the Westbrick trade except Russ was at least a MVP at one point
ProblematicAndCrazy
D’Lo fits this Lakers team better regardless of the fact that Murray is a more complete player. Still don’t like it
SeatedJumper
I think losing out on Dlo’s shooting and offense is a real concern, but Murray is a better defender and a bouncy, aggressive driver to rim which this team is really missing.
If we do this move, would love to see a secondary trade, bringing in a guy like Tyus Jones.

Team is just desperate to make a move at this point.

This clip is outta context. He said “the Hawks are confident they ***would*** be able to find a team for DLo”. Meaning if they decided to pursue that Lakers package they know it will be available, but they aren’t doing so right now.
In other words, he’s saying the earlier reporting that the “roadblock” is finding a third team for dlo isn’t completely true.

Moving DLo is not gonna make it all better.
Infinite_Cap_853
I hope that trade is going to happen. Murray is a very good player and he is the best talent that our limited assets can acquire. Having Murray over DLo in your starting 5 in the playoffs is a considerable upgrade.

Are things heating up? Man DLO is up and down but his play lately has been very inspiring.

almost positive we’re gonna get murray and tyus. tyus makes up for murrays shortcomings – excellent playmaker and shooter while murray provides length, athleticism and defense as well ss flat out scoring

Not sure if it’s been said, but I feel like Dejounte could unlock Reaves in a way. Having a strong guard defender next to Reaves locks him into that SG position for the long term and hopefully frees him up on offense even more. D’Lo has exceeded expectations, but I still feel like Reaves is the guy worth investing in. Make an ideal scenario for Reaves to thrive on both sides of the ball

I know y’all have a sentimental attachment to DLo but Murray absolutely makes this team better. Let’s get it done

Genuinely would rather just give up the pick for caruso

Feel like this works but you have to at least try to pry a shooter from some team as well. That’s the biggest thing you’re losing with D’Lo as you gain a more complete playoff caliber player with Murray.
Team can’t trust anyone to stay consistent from 3 this season besides D’Lo so far and Bron to an extent
KPtheimmaculate
Why do we even need to trade D’lo? He’s ballin right now.
I’d trade Prince, Reddish, or JHS for a better 3/D or good 6th man role.

So far Nets and Pistons been the most active on the market trying to find trades so maybe one of them will play ball for us. We have a great relationship with the Wizards FO so maybe we can call in a favor with them. Bulls focusing on Lavine atm but could switch to making smaller moves which could help us as well

I think trading D’lo for Murray would be a mistake.

No thanks, we don’t want DLo gone.

I’d rather trade AR than Dlo.

This should be obvious. I listed to Duncd on guys n they did mock trades n basically teams like Knicks magic or nets would love dlo n throw in an expiring – they’d probably add some seconds too . Though those guys didn’t they’re a bit low on him . Only thing is if Dlo buys in to bring a sixth man cos even here I wouldn’t mind that . If bum ass Vincent wasn’t injured him n jhs would be enough sakary n dlo could be our sixth man . Oh well will wish dlo success but with vando injured we ought to get Murray n DFS or we’ll get cooked again on perimeter

This trade just doesn’t make the team better right now. It is a lateral move. Just depends how it helps the team after the season

Man the DLo revisionism is wild in this thread

However good Murray is, he will play worse for the Lakers under Darvin’s “coaching.”

100% on board with what seems to be the consensus in this thread: * D-lo is very good. He’s an underrated shooter and can get really hot for stretches of games. He can hit open shots. But… * D-lo is bad defensively and isn’t a consistent offensive threat. Sometimes he looks like a bench guy. * DJM is just a way better overall player. He’s worse at shooting than D-lo, but he’s a consistent 20+/5+/5+ guy and a young, rising star. He’s great at mids, improves every year, and (when focused) can be terrific on defense. He’s a bonafide starter and will be a centerpiece for years to come. * We will certainly lose outside shooting in a 1-for-1 trade. We need DJM + a shooter (or several shooters). * Still, all this being said, **do the damn trade.**

Swap DLO and Dejounte in that boston game do the Lakers win?

I don’t think hunk Murray makes an impact for the lakers. We need another big and defensive wing with Vando out.

So giving up shooting for…

People here forget this: “In 2022, Murray was named to his first NBA All-Star Game and led the league in steals. ” Dude has been an all star and a defensive menace when locked in. Love Reaves but he’ll never be either of those things.

good sign probably will be the Nets
