Zach lifts his elbow into Mitchell’s path during a basketball play, he doesn’t throw it and there is neither windup nor follow through. Mitchell goes right at Zach’s neck/face with intent to harm and nowhere near a basketball play. Zach is left with a huge bruise on his neck.
This should have been either a regular offensive foul on Zach or a weak flagrant 1, and a flagrant 2 on Mitchell. I really do not understand anything about this call at all.

Can they eject Zach before the game in every games for the rest of the season, we all just want to see Barlow play instead of this soft ass brick fest dude

Mitchell’s just so much shorter than Zach. Looks like Zach was trying to set a standard hard pick but missed it and instead ending up as a shove toward Mitchell’s face.

Can they just eject Zach from the NBA too lol? I’d rather have Barlow at this point even if he gets toasted too

Zach is a god damn bum.

I think Zach will get suspended.

I hope he gets ejected every game so Pop has to play Barlow

i know it’s easy to give him the benefit of the doubt because he’s a Spur, but Zach has been suspect for years with this kinda stuff. can’t exactly be coincidental every time with how often it happens

No one seems to be saying this but a few plays before, Mitchell went in for a drive and there was incidental contact from Mitchell that elbowed Zach in the face. Zach definitely did this on purpose because of said previous play and people saying he was attempting to set a solid screen are kidding themselves

I’m not super surprised he got no benefit-of-the-doubt from the refs. A few plays before, Mitchell elbowed him hard in the face on a drive to the basket (called a Collins foul). During the free throws after, he was very clearly and animatedly demonstrating to the refs the elbow and arguing the foul. I was at the game (first game in SA, still enjoyed it) and maybe got an angle not on TV.
Hard to argue an accident when you were just complaining about Mitchell’s elbow like a minute before lol
Tbh, a flagrant 2 was probably still a bit much. Mitchel is the one that retaliated, and his elbow on the previous drive looked pretty dirty live.
