Stephen Curry offers some words of advice to Trae Young: “I told him after the game that it would all come back to him if he continues to approach the game the right way: play with joy, don’t let it build any type of resentment just because he’s not acknowledged.“

Good life advice in general. That being said, it’s a lot easier to play with joy when you’ve already gotten your flowers. Trae is always under scrutiny for his play-style and his team record.

  2. What if there’s another guy in NBA who plays with joy and no resentment, which of the two will be given the All-Star then.

Now tell him to shave that rat’s nest of a haircut 🙏

  4. Politics in the NBA are crazy, maybe the only sport where being a likable guy holds more weight than actual play

Is Trae closer to “Steph on a bad franchise”or “cheap facsimile of Steph?”

A person could look at Trae’s numbers and say he’s not that much worse than Steph, he just doesn’t have a team built around his skills.

I don’t think I want to be the person to say that, but it could be said.

I’m old enough to remember the same thing happening with Dame when he was starting to break out, snub after snub. Now he’s an 8x all-star. Trae is too good, ik it sucks now but he’ll end his career with multiple all star selections to the point where we’ll forget about these snubs

  7. I see, he is disappointed about a personal achievement of not making the all star team! How about get pissed on not going to the conference finals or winning a chip!

Isn’t that the opposite of how the Warriors have been?

First they said many times they thrived on not being recognised as the best team, on being the underdog, then they thrived on the hate( from the KD trade) and that Us vs them mentality. Then they thrived on being told they are done as a dynasty. Plus Curry is known for petty comebacks.

I just can’t imagine being as good as he is and not a nod … that would be hurtful so I can’t imagine the amount of willpower and mental strength it takes to just be ABOVE that.

I mean, after curry’s first snub he hasn’t missed it since. Trae has made it before and then been snubbed twice since, which is way more disrespectful than pre-MVP curry missing it one time

This is fantastic life advice, from someone who clearly understands how to become a master of their craft. When you’re honing pretty much any skill, it’s going to be a whiiile before you get recognition for your efforts. But you gotta be willing to trust the process, keep on moving forward the right way improving for the long haul and being self-critical without being too harsh on yourself. The results will come whether others like it or not

Because he’s not acknowledged? The dude turned down the allstar game once maybe twice? I don’t blame people for not selecting him if that’s his attitude it’s supposed to be an honor to be an allstar

I am a bit surprised that Paolo is picked over Trae

but Magic was a top 6 seed at the time

I wish my concept of not being acknowledged was Stephen Curry complimenting me in national media

Why is the loser giving the winner advice?

one more tip trae. if you lose in the nba finals after going 73-9, sign kevin durant (or whoever the KD-equivalent is at the time) in the offseason. that and hard work will result in success

  17. One reason it’s impossible to root against Steph is how pleasant and positive he always seems. Don’t much like his coach or his teammates, but I’ve always enjoyed Steph

If only the world were more process oriented instead of goal oriented all the time.

Rubio: ” change your face, be happy, enjoy it!”

I want them to be my friends

Trae’s numbers are insane vs the accolades he has. He should honestly have been an all star every season after his rookie year, with those stat lines.

  22. bigpenny1

interesting too see the trae young push…. never thought it would happen with the amount of hate and disrespect he got. or maybe finally ppl are realizing how dumb they sound when they say they wouldnt want trae on there team cause defense

  23. TJStrawberry

It’s just a losing record thing with Trae. If they were top 8 pretty sure he’d be in

I love the nba but every year at all star time, it shows just how fragile the egos of these players are. All stars teams are 24 players. 10 of which are a popularity contest, that leaves 14 guys that coaches decide are the best players in the league. There have been PLENTY of really good players who never made an all star and plenty of great players that missed out on certain years. Get over it. Can we stop coddling these adult men over everything?
