The Detroit Pistons Are Showing REAL Signs Of LIfe

The Detroit Pistons set the record for the longest losing streak in NBA history this season but with one small move the Pistons look competitive again three and five in and of itself isn’t great but when you realize that it took the Pistons 39 games to get their first

Three wins you see how things are looking up the absolutely disastrous start to Detroit season can be attributed to many things such as coaching injuries and roster construction but it appears Troy Weaver and Monty Williams have finally got the message today I’m going to be going over Detroit’s disastrous start the seemingly

Minor move that helped them immensely and my outlook for the future of this franchise before we get into this if y’all could like the video sub the channel and hit that noty Bell I would really really appreciate it would help me out a ton smaller NBA YouTuber trying

To grow and without further Ado let’s get right into the video this off season I really thought this would be the year Detroit showed some signs of life I couldn’t have been further from correct as far as the first half of the year but this was due to many factors I didn’t

Consider I’ll put it this way I was wondering if killan Hayes would be on the roster or not and they had this dude starting for a long while and again when Cade went down putting all of this on Killian is unfair but he is one of the

Pillars of what made this Detroit team so dysfunctional spacing isn’t optional in the modern NBA and the Pistons learn that the hard way assar Thompson is also a fine young player and I don’t have the disdain for him that I do kilan but he also does not help this spacing

Situation whatsoever combine this with not one but two big men and you have crafted an amazing starting five in 1988 the entirety of the Piston situation is too complex to put on any single person Killian Hayes obviously shouldn’t have been starting but why was he even on the

Roster in the first place assar Thompson is fine by himself but was he really the fit here if you were going to move forward with Killian Hayes and a lineup with two big men you have your two young ball handlers and Kad Ivy and while I

Think assar could be decent and he is a project this man isn’t even shooting 15% from three 15 while many of the Pistons Shooters missing significant time also played a part here putting out a starting five next to your star of a guard who can’t score in any way on an

NBA level a 15% three-point shooter rounded and two centers in this day and age is malpractice we can deal with the impact of one or two of Killian Hayes assar two bigs and injuries to Shooter spacing wise but all four of these blended into one creates one of the

Worst teams ever I would say I understand the struggle of this season as a Sixers fan but I really don’t the difference here is that we were supposed to be bad trying to be bad this Pistons roster has real talent throughout and had no intentions on being bad let alone

This bad but despite an alltime awful start the Pistons looked like they’re finally getting it together somewhat Troy Weaver and Monty Williams have finally realized the impact of spacing the Pistons trading Marvin baggley for danillo galinari and Mike muscala was viewed as a non-factor League wide but this and players like Monte Morris

Returning from injury have made this a legitimate basketball team before we move on to the positive I just want to slightly address this think piece that doesn’t even deserve this attention I can understand how woman see the Pistons record with and without Kate and take it

At face value but this doesn’t mean the Pistons are worse with Kate on the court this shift with the Pistons is due to spacing being a thing with the recent trade and guys healing up Kate has sort of got this shot trucker label from casual fans who don’t understand the

Whole gravity of the situation Kate is a 23 and 7 guy in a situation that a conspiracy theorist would think was put in place to make Cade fail and save the Pistons on his extension I understand most NBA fans aren’t going out of the way to watch the Pistons right now but

For those of us that do you can clearly see that Cade is Elite we also have to keep in mind that this is essentially Cade’s second year I know patience is completely out the window in the modern NBA but this is a 23 and7 guy in an awful situation who’s younger than some

Rookies I will discuss K more as we get away from the Doom and Gloom but I just wanted to throw this in here to emphasize how much I believe in Kade three and five when compared to 3 and 36 is phenomenal Improvement but this doesn’t even do it justice even in the

Five games they’ve lost in this recent eight game stretch the Pistons have made it competitive against some great teams the big win in this stretch was last Sunday at home against the top two seeded Oklahoma City Thunder Jaylen Duren had a monster 2221 and six game on

9 for 13 shooting but outside of that it was really a team effort a team effort emphasized by the over 42% from deep as a team for the game who could have thought that emphasizing space in the floor would completely change the outlook for this team this Detroit team

Has shown some real Signs of Life recently and all although this season is lost that’s got to feel good for Detroit fans the funny thing is that despite the longest losing streak ever my outlook for this team is basically the same as it’s been since the summer given that

The Pistons continue to run lineups that indicate that they didn’t just wake up out of a 30-year coma of course you would think I would go back to my the Detroit Pistons disrespectable end this season video and be embarrassed but most of my stance Remains the Same the reason

For this is that my outlook for this year was under the assumption that Monty Williams didn’t want Killian Hayes as his son-in-law Killian Hayes in and of himself is bad but when you give it context it gets even worse giving Killian last season to maybe show something when Kade went went down is

Fine but starting him over your top five pick who averaged 16 and five as a rookie is straight up malpractice this is where I go back to my video and my assumption that killan Hayes would either be off the roster or in a bench roll because you know you not only have

NBA quality players but a more recent higher pick whose average game as a rookie is much better than pretty much anything Killian Hayes has ever done this was really one of the stupidest coaching decisions I ever witness for many reasons the presence of Killian Hayes in significant minutes has already

Had an awful impact on basically every one in the Pistons I like assar Thompson I don’t like assar Thompson starting alongside Ken Hazen two bigs I like Isaiah Stewart but I don’t like two bigs yes he can shoot but he’s still a big out there with Killian Hayes and assar

Thompson I think I’ve hammered my point home enough so let’s get on to what Monty Williams realizing he’s not in the 90s will do for this team it’s hard to set expectations for this season with this team if I had to guess I think they

Hover over the level of a 30 to 35 win team this obviously is far from where you want to be but is also a massive step from about a five win Pace at the halfway play Mark the rest of this season should be fun and promising for Detroit the galinari muscal trade

Definitely helped but it’s still crazy to me that this was arguably the worst team ever this team has four young studs in Cade IV Asar and Duren and a plethora of quality role players like Boon beef stew and Monte Morris injuries were a part of this as well but the bottom line

Is that this team was never actually less than 10 wins back the silver lining of this disastrous start is that the Pistons are going to have at least a top five if not higher pick in this upcoming draft while I think some supplemental moves could be nice this to me is really

The last piece that the Pistons will need other than time again given that they even slightly know what they are doing I really think a Kade ivr Duren top pick core could be elite if utilized properly with proper spacing saying a team that started 3 and 36 doesn’t need

A complete overhaul sounds insane but if nothing else the rest of this season will display the importance of shooting and spacing the confidence I still have in this Detroit core is due to all of the core 4 but mainly due to Cade Cunningham again this man is 23 and

Seven in a situation that looks like they’re trying to mess with him Kade could be a 25 and8 guy in the right situation right now I see no reason why Kade can’t be a 25 and 10 guy if not better at his peak in the right situation Ivy’s presence or lack thereof

Would have an impact on the assist numbers but you get my point Kade has real offensive engine talent and I really don’t like some of the narratives being pedal about him due to an injury and a situation that’s beyond terrible Jaylen Durant is my other 100% sure

Thing with this team he is the ideal interior big and is averaging efficient 14 and 12 with horrid spacing I am extremely confident that the Pistons will have at least two future Allstars plus some other young pieces and a top pick making for a great starting point I

Want to discuss Duren more to the point where he could get a video himself but this script is already dragging on as for the other two pieces of the Pistons young core 4 Ivy and assar undeniably have some Elite tools I am high on Ivy

And his fit next de Cade but I’m having some questions about assar in all honesty I understand he’s a project and he should be given space to grow but not even 15% from three as a wing has to be discussed if he can improve to in and around 30% great but that’s literally

Doubling his current three-point percentage you’d rather someone who’s not afraid to miss and work on his game than Ben Simmons but this can’t just be brushed aside if Detroit had a stretch big I think you can make it work but with Duren let alone Killian stew and

Duren it gets two really bad levels as we can see assar is a project and has showed some flashes but in most scenarios this is unfortunately a Poss possibly fatal flaw I know assar will be in the gym nonstop which is also encouraging but 15% is wild man I like

Assar himself and his skill set but not being a 30% three-point shooter as a wing is really bad now let alone 20 let alone 15 again him and his brother have shown all the inklings to you know 100% work ethic everything you know again I I

Think he can be a great NBA player I just don’t know if this is a situation for him I think he needs to be in a situ I mean to be most effective he you know objectively needs to be in a situation where you know there’s the floor is

Spaced properly let alone you know again properly spaced you know could just be you know there could still be an inside big but you know now he’s dealing with some of the worst which I think is exacerbating like I I don’t know man if he’s actually a 15% three-point shooter

That’s bad but I think you know the spacing and some of the other situation is exacerbating that to a point again you know I he’s a rookie you know he’s played not that many games but I 15% is really concerning like I’m sorry sorry it’s a hard thing to you know even kind

Of justify and yes could you put him in a Ben Simmons situation but does he have Ben Simmons tools which I know to some people you know sounds crazy now but if you remember one I mean Ben Simmons in the NBA was amazing let alone what we

Thought he can be let alone the tools he had and how his shooting limited him you know as a you know I I mean I was a Ben Simmons fan I’m a Sixers fan like I know you know I I know how the path that this

Can go down you know when you have a guy who I mean again at least he will shoot but you know you got have a guy who can’t SL won’t shoot and you know uh you know another power forward and maybe you know you throw another Center in there

For a year just to you know just to make it fun but yeah good rant on assar uh let’s wrap it up to wrap this up while this season has been nothing short of disastrous Pistons fans still have a lot to be excited about there’s obviously a

Lot of questions with a team this bad but I really think Detroit has the makings of a great team development some lessons learned about the modern NBA and a new top prospect should bring Pistons fans back to some level of excitement and hey Silver Lining you probably weren’t making the playoffs anyways at

Least you have secured a top pick if y’all fall a five again I’d organize a protest at NBA offices but I have a feeling that won’t be happening that’s going to wrap this one up if y’all enjoyed it please once again like it up sub to the channel hit that noty Bell

Comment down below what your thoughts are on the Piston situation again you know if you don’t have the same you know uh positive outlook overall for the Pistons I completely get it but I really feel like this was largely like this wasn’t this was more so due to the

Placement of the players on the roster and injuries like again you know I think if you know the shooters were in the lineup regardless of if you had this disaster starting five it would be better and some of the Cade on off stuff I think is due to that because you know

He’s obviously primarily playing with the starters and then when the bench comes in they actually have floor spacing so they’re probably playing better I mean you know it’s you know a path of logic that again I can get how someone can you know pull up Twitter oh

The Pistons are I forget the exact numbers but whatever and whatever with Kade whatever and whatever without him obviously oh you go look at the onoff STS but even with onoff sets a lot of stuff there’s a lot of context and there’s a lot of context here that I

Feel like you really have to dig into to really understand and 90% of NBA fans don’t know and don’t care to and that’s fine like 90% of NBA fans are watching one to two Prime Time games a week they see they look at the settings they’re like oh man the Pistons are awful

They’re going to have to blow everything up when that’s not really the case good rant again I you know I normally do the r ran at the end end but I you know had a little thing to do with thear there cuz again I I think he’s a promising

Player but I just have to emphasize that given this whole spacing thing and obviously he was part of the spacing problem but yeah I again I I don’t know what I’m going to say that I haven’t said already so I’m going to cut it I’ll

Catch you on the next one if you still watching right now comment quarter I don’t know there’s a quarter right here I can’t even make the noise there you go peace

  1. Just seeing that LaVine to Detroit could be a possibility, and I've thought about this and absolutely love it.

Elite 3pt shot creator and spacer, and there won't be many free agents of his caliber let alone free agents of his caliber that want to come to Detroit at the moment. You can get an all star to put with your young core while they are on rookie deals at very little, if any cost. It has been rumored that the bulls are going to have to attach assets to trade Zach's deal. You already have a ton of rookie deals and another one coming up, and could get a gamechanger at negative cost.

  2. Just getting rid of Isiah Livers is a huge plus getting rid of Kilian is another addition by subtraction that needs to happen. And Levine heard you are about to be traded to Detroit and said F that I am gonna go and do season ending surgery instead. Chicago is screwed. They will have to give up picks in the future to get out of his contract.

  3. Monty Williams wildin out. He be trying to sabotage players and all that. But I blame him for that hellacious start. It's almost like after that Phoenix collapse a couple of years ago he just completely forgot how to coach……..
