These NBA Injuries Could Change Everything

These NBA Injuries Could Change Everything

Okay let’s talk about some injury stuff there’s a chance the title of this video is too dramatic I went kind of YouTube mode on the title but look obviously embiid’s injury affects the MVP race it affects the standings in the Eastern Conference which is obviously going to

Affect the playoffs and as far as the LaVine injury well it obviously affects the trade deadline it affects potentially the offseason with a future LaVine thing with his big contract on the Bulls so let’s talk about it of course the first thing we say is we wish

That both of them get healthy and I guess we could start with embid so safe to say that the MVP is not going to happen for Joel which that sucks because we all know the guy was playing amazing I mean felt like he was shooting damn near 100% on mid-range jump shots this

Season he’s been shooting 50% which is still a great number of course and what you’re forced to look at with Philly while we can appreciate Maxi and we can have an NBA nerd moment about Nicholas patum how he makes entry passes to Joel and stuff uh Philly is the fifth seed

The Cavs and the Knicks are above him right now they’re both playing really well they got a bit of a cushion on Indiana and Miami behind them and as a result the deck is just kind of stacking against him here now if Joel does end up missing some significant amount of time

I mean if it’s surgery it could be potentially the whole season of course but if not that then let’s say he’s got to sit for a couple weeks and potentially minutes restriction down the road whatever it’s not that I think Philly would crater like they’d probably

Just tread water I mean as I say this I mean we all know the run that Cleveland went on when Garland and Moy were out and now both of them are back now okay but the point being is Philly might just be locked into the four or five seed for

This season given this Joel stuff and if that’s the case then the deck is going to be a little more stacked against him when it comes to playoff seatings the whole thing and this is especially disappointing because at the time of this happening they’re still within shouting distance of the two seed like

They’re a game and a half behind the books the other thing too is if Joel does not elect to get surgery and they do try to make this work throughout the year my fear is that we get to the playoffs and he’s clearly not 100% Joel

Embiid which would not be the first time that that’s happened in the playoffs right which would then mean you can just add another cursed if not cursed than misfortunate season moment whatever into this Philadelphia 76ers story that’s been going on for the last decade if you

Want to extend all the way out to you know the early process days and stuff now is there a world in which embiid is 100% in the playoffs and you know we can have different conversations totally but as of right now you know it doesn’t look

Great for the Sixers even if again I don’t think they’re going to completely fall apart if Joel has to miss some time here the other thing is what does this do for Philly on the trade market I feel like if Daryl Mor’s got an

To get a trade that he deems as like a big win for himself then he’s going to do it of course with the picks from the Harden trade expiring contracts you know what they have and I just I can picture Daryl Mory being like yeah I got to give

Up a little too much for Deon and I’ve already done my pro and con of Deonte on the Sixers where it’s like yes he would definitely give them more ball handling and more pull-up to juice and all that and more playmaking but between where his defense has gotten to as well as

Would you be able to blend the like dejonte wanting to run pick and roll and shoot pull up twos with everything Maxi and be do off each other on top of again I just don’t think my would want to give up the amount of assets that I think Atlanta would want

For it you know so okay but then between whether it’s Caruso or Bruce brown or buddy heeld or Buon or whoever we go for any of these guys I don’t know the other thing with Philly is you know if if this Joel stuff does lock them into the fifth

Seed which even then I mean the Pacers they’ve lost three in a row but seaka and halber just haven’t been able to play with each other that much then maybe they can get some wins and make the Middle East a little more interesting but the point I’m getting at

Is if Philly is going to be kind of locked into the four or five that does put them on the trajectory to where if they get through round one they got to play the Celtics in round two and as we know Philly has not enjoyed that matchup

Although as I say all that it just dawned on me that what if Miami fell into the play and and then they faced the Celtics and round one I’m still too traumatized from last playoffs obviously Nick nurse is here now James Harden’s gone there’s some differences but yeah

And especially if you have Jo not at 100% going into that sort of thing so we’ll see with embiid we’re still waiting on the exact wording of the whole miniscus thing and what the treatment is’s going to be anyway let’s go to Zack LaVine now who

Is now out for the rest of the season with foot surgery and there was some Pistons something a couple of days ago you know Zack L said on his podcast it was very real he also said the Bulls fans should be prepared if it does happen for an underwhelming return I

Think at this point we would bet that that does not happen my stance on LaVine is he’s a bucket getter who you don’t want running your entire offense and you got to put good defensive players around him he’s better on ball than as a Team Defender I don’t do you want your team

To trade for LaVine coming off of this injury in the offseason I mean look it only takes one suor of course anyway I have several questions now after this between what is the Bulls and Zack lavine’s relationship really like at this point specifically the front office like how determined are the front office

To move him how badly does he really want to get moved obviously it’s not going to happen in the next five days now or at least I and I think others strongly believe that so I guess this can become more of an offseason conversation and then also how

Apprehensive are other teams to after this and we already know his Market wasn’t very good cuz if the Bulls really want to move him and he really wants out and now other teams want him even less after this then that’s kind of wild now I also think there’s a world in which he

Gets the surgery and then he’s back to the bucket getter he’s been for years now so we’ll see there the other thing too is like look other teams are always going to have some contract they don’t totally love and also as the salary cap goes up although we did just see the

Projection like a week ago where the projection was like 1 million less than what they believed it to be but anyway for next season but like as the money goes up the current contracts are going to look a little better so remember that with LaVine as well but uh look this

Could also lead to a larger conversation with the bulls which is basically a lot of teams wanton Caruso and based on the news around it you might be able to get a return that’s kind of like oh wow they got that for Alex Caruso we all get it he’s you know

One of the best perimeter defenders in the league period his threes have been better Kobe White’s been cooking and they should keep him they’ve now got the D rozan contract just it’s it’s kind of like an elephant in the room at least for me when I look at the bull situation

Where I’m just like well he’s on a one-year deal and if they just wanted to try to maximize wins which is what they’ve been trying to do as they are the ninth seed sure you could resign him look there’s probably some conversation to be had about well would you trade d rozan for

Pennies on the dollar if that’s what it came down to but I think at the least you got to see what you can get for him and yeah that brings up the whole well how easy is it to fit D rozan onto a team with an established offense okay

Fine but you got to see what you can get man so I don’t know the Bulls they do have their own pick this year they will their pick next season if it finishes top 10 in the lottery and just based on how this front office is operated and

Just based on the rumors around everybody right now for them the only thing that I can fall on is I don’t think that they’re going to try to like Bott him out in the tail end of the season here and maximize that pick even if again I think they should definitely

Uh see what they can get for guys again not Kobe white keep him

or maybe not idk

  1. my fantasy team was absolutely disgusting i really hope embiid doesn’t miss too much time. until he comes back Tre, D-fox, lauri, and b-ingram gotta hold it downn

  2. This is the natural events of Joel Embiid's career. This isn't some unknown, unforeseen event. Don't try to blame the rules, or the NBA, or the fans, or other teams. Joel Embiid is S-A-W-F-T, SAWFT! Charmin soft, both mentally and physically.

If he played while injured to answer ducking accusations, or to qualify for the MVP, he is soft. If he just got injured again, he is soft. I wouldn't even be surprised if this injury is staged in order to run cover for his rep, since that is all he cares about, not winning or his teammates.

He cannot duck the accusations. He is soft. A FT merchant, a 7 ft James Harden, less health than Shaq. The Media was putting him over Wilt and Shaq. Those two both won championships. No matter how hard the media covers for him, he cannot cry for a chip. So that is the only thing that matters anymore, because MVP sure doesn't after last year.

  3. The issue with Embiid is yes he’s injury prone but they could’ve at least made it to the finals if they put they put the right pieces around him. They should’ve resigned butler and Jj.

  4. Depending on where it is, torn meniscuses really suck. Tore my ACL and I could play through it. Have a torn meniscus now, and I was having trouble just walking for a while there.

  5. If Embiid only misses February Sixers are finnished i can see them easly slip into play in spots, no teams will go easy on them

  6. can we talk about the real issue
look at the 2 guys in the 1st picture
how are they both black guys?
why cant the whites claim Lavine? (and washed Klay)

  7. Wish Leonard would have his annual injury now, instead of in playoffs.
Heartbreaking to loose him, when he is most needed.

  8. Bro, you gotta be more specific. Say “the middle spots in the Eastern Conference,” not “the Middle East”

  9. I’m not sure contracts will rise much. And Lavine a contract may look worse. Contracts are based off TV deal money and from what I’m reading those are supposed to drop with cable essentially dying.

  10. I'm not joking about this, but 76ers legit should look to trade Embiid because man is extremely injury prone. I get it that Embiid is an MVP caliber player, but the dude can not stay healthy long enough to warrant staying.

And that's not even talking about his regression in playoffs.

So trade Embiid, 76ers still can get a good haul for Embiid and build around Maxey. 76ers can potentially have a treasure chest of picks and cap space!
If I were a 76ers fan, I'd likely wish for that route to happen because I'll get tired of my star player being injury prone. Just pull the bandage off already and move on!
(And I'm a fan of the team 1st over players, so I'm not attached to players making it easy for me to move on from.)

  11. I don't think that Embiid was ever going to make the new threshold for the MVP award. He was only allowed to miss like 5 more games in the next 35

  12. Zach LaVine might still end up on the Pistons. Instead of a pick-heavy package, the Bulls might get a good young player or two plus matching salary.
