  1. We just need him back for the playoffs. That’s 2.5 months from now.

  2. Slow-Duty-8030

Honestly, I’m happy he’s getting it fixed. Hopefully the knee won’t be an issue anymore. I have a feeling he was managing this injury for awhile

  3. Of course they don’t say how long. Hope it works out that he can heal fully and also have time to get back into shape before playoffs.

  4. mastermind208

Unsure if this means he’s out for the season or not, but hope the procedure goes well and he recovers back healthy 🙏🥲

  5. jamhamram

Could be two months. Could be until next season. 👍

  6. Once again no timetable for us sickos. They make us ponder and seek twitter medical professionals

  7. battletor7

Best decision. I feel like he will be back and healed by mid april 🙏🏻

  8. Good. I hope this will help ease the big fella’s pain.

  9. Obviously, we are now confirmed to know he is getting surgery.

But I feel like this is the third time we are told that we still got to wait to get any real information.

    Hope the procedure goes well.

    4-6 weeks or 4-6 months.

Right move, easy call. The dudes got the rest of his career and life to think about

  11. ProcessTrust856

I think they don’t know the timeline until they get in there surgically and see how bad the tear is, and the specific shape.

  12. jorgelongo2

the vagueness means he’s almost definitely out for the season

  13. Sixers0321

This is a 4 to 6 month recovery, he’s done for the season.

  14. HoagieTwoFace

It’s fine. We knew this would happen. The real question is whether not we go all in at the deadline or have a small firesale to acquire assets for the offseason.

  15. I already emotionally accepted the season was over but there was still some blind hope in the back of my mind.

  16. It’s my fault guys. I was convinced I could no longer feel pain after the eagles got eliminated. My bad, sorry.

  17. mojoembiid

    Repair was the longest recovery

    Clean up the middle

    Rehab the shortest timetable

*edit also in order of best for the long term

  18. Spare_Jaguar_5173

He will be 31 by the next year’s playoff. Last year was the year, man. Incredibly unfortunate.

  19. boobsarecool

Wouldn’t be a Sixer season if we weren’t all praying for Embiid to be 50% healthy by playoff time

How can you win a championship with a dude that is never healthy when you need him? What I’m saying isn’t even controversial at this point these injuries happen every year!

This is why jokic is better

  21. SomeGuyNamedJohn12

Tell him to take his time healing this season is a wash.

  22. Welp safe to say we are fucked for the next decade. Onto the eagles and Phillies I suppose

  23. iam_soyboy

Kinda crazy that we peaked in the last year of the Colangelo era. Yikes.

Good luck on the rebuild, Morey!

Remember – ya’ll celebrate his magnus opus as trading Al Horford and a first for the corpse of Danny Green. 👏👏👏

  24. CMDaccounting

Time to tank! Rob from Kentucky would fit perfectly

  25. VanHalen843

Embiid will be 30…he will only become more injury prone, if that’s even possible. It’s a shame, we were all so invested in him…but…his body betrays him.

  26. darcy1537325

This will make the rest of the regular season interesting. I hope we can stay afloat until he’s back

  27. TryingToForget77

Fucking Kuminga. Just go the Kawhi route and shut him down until he’s fully healthy again. Kawhi seems to be putting the injury bug behind him now and having a good season. He’s 32 and looks good this year. Hopefully same success for Jo. 🙏

Morey better make some big trade unless he’s got some handshake deals with top FAs heading here in the off-season.

  28. kartoon10

As a serial pessimist, my guess is that he is out for the season but (again, I’m cynical) for business reasons they don’t want to say so because (1) the team still needs to sell tickets and (2) Morey doesn’t want to lose significant leverage before the trade deadline. I think we might know more after the Super Bowl. I’m ready to be hurt again.

  29. L_Ron_Stunna

I really hope he just comes back next season healthy. I said this in another comment but this is still just another “freak accident” type injury. Sure he was dealing with the knee swelling and some ankle stuff prior, but none of us were overly concerned with it, with the way he was playing what reason was there to be worried? Im sure going forward he’s going to have plenty more games missed here and there with various tweaks and other somewhat minor wear and tear injuries, but I also want to believe hes not gonna get landed on or elbowed in the face by another player every season. As long as he continues to lean on the less physically taxing mid range game and teams continue to foul him at the same rate, I think he can remain an MVP candidate for at least the next few years, and barring another stupid careless move by another player I still think he can bring us a championship.

Maxey is going to develop so many bad hero ball habits during this stretch. Counterproductive for his development.

  31. jacobtfromtwilight

His career is done. Kuminga ended his fucking career.

  32. jacobtfromtwilight

Well it was fun while it lasted but this team and the front office is fucking cooked. They should trade joel and maxey and just blow it all up. Literally fire every employee
