While overall I love what Jrue provides as a player (better player, better offensively, makes smarter decisions usually, settles in a little better), the thing that we really do seem to miss in this offense is a REAL dog mentality.
Thats not to say “oh we’re soft” “oh we don’t want to win”. There’s just not a lot of players as passionate and as strongly willed as Marcus. They don’t really make em like that anymore. So when you lose something like that It’s kind of noticeable.
Every single time you saw a loose ball within 5 feet of Marcus you knew he was going to be willing to break a leg to go get it, for better or worse. It’s just the intangible heart he provides. In every way, Smart was a Celtic. A true green blooded Celtic (no diss to anyone on this roster).
